"Well, it is not like I can produce food out from thin air, can I??? Besides, just so you know, that is the only food available in your kitchen right now, so naturally, that is also the only food that I can serve you."
Syra rebutted.
When Clyde heard of the situation, he looked at Jorah to seek clarification only to see the other party nodding his head in agreement at what Syra said.
"Master Clyde, she is right. Other than your leftover from the food, you ordered the previous day, we no longer had any other food. So you can't afford to be choosy."
As straightforward as he usually was, the tomcat gave his master an honest comment.
"Errr???"
Hearing his pet reprimanding him, Clyde touched the tip of his nose.; something that could usually be observed from him whenever he felt embarrassed.
But Clyde quickly recovered from it and he turned his attention back to the food that Syra prepared for him.
"I like my coffee black though."
He said when he saw that Syra add creamer to his coffee. But despite saying that, he still raised the cup next to his lips to have a sip from it.
'He wants it black but he wants it sweet as well. What is the point of having it black then? What a weirdo. Tsk!'
Syra told herself internally in frustration but she did not allow her emotion to show on her face as she kept a blank expression outside.
Meanwhile, despite expressing his initial dislike of the coffee, Clyde still seemed to like its taste as he could not help himself but take another sip.
"This is not bad after all. Maybe I will try to have my coffee this way, next time."
It was his first time showing his satisfaction towards Syra's service and the other party found it quite a relief.
Truth be told, the reason why Clyde take the initiative to cook that morning was that he wanted to welcome Syra on board. However, due to the unexpected turn of events, his plan went to the gutter, and rather than admitting to this shortcoming, Clyde just chose to give it a cold shoulder instead.
"Since you did a good job today, let me grant you a wish. Other than the early termination of your contract, you can ask me for anything."
Clyde declared out of the blue.
Jorah, the tomcat, was true to his words when he said before that his Master Clyde was generous. The other party was indeed benignant once one managed to get under his good mood.
"Anything????"
Syra asked to confirm if she heard her right.
"Yes, name it."
Clyde replied with a smirk when he saw the gleam of excitement from the other party's eyes.
"Alright, so since you put it that way, can I ask for clothes instead?"
Syra said sheepishly because up until now, she was still wearing the same clothes she had from yesterday.
Meanwhile, hearing how simple the other party's wish was, Clyde was stunned. Normally, if a human was asked to make a wish, they would immediately take advantage of it and request for something big.
However, Syra's wish was way too simple that even Clyde found it to be a waste of mana.
"Are you sure that is all you want to ask from me???"
Clyde inquired to give her a chance to change her mind. But it seemed that Syra was not getting his hint as she only nodded her head and gave him a resolute answer.
