Chapter 46 - THE MASTER AND CAT TANDEM

When Clyde heard the edge of sarcasm in Syra's voice, he rebutted at her.

"Why? Do you expect me to teleport myself straight to the mall and risk my identity being exposed? I don't do it that way. Besides, do you think anyone would find it normal once someone started materializing out of thin air???"

"Err... I get it now. You are just trying to act normal. Is that it?"

"Obviously."

Clyde replied simply but the tone that he used when he said it, was as though insinuating that it was so stupid of the other party to have not realized it sooner.

When they arrived at the bus stop, there were already other people waiting on the shed other than them. So they remained standing as there were no available seats anymore.

"We still have fifteen minutes before the bus would come."

Syra told Clyde but the other party remained silent and acted as though they were not together.

"Tsk. Suit yourself."

Syra thought to herself. If the other party really wished to pretend like they were not acquainted with one another, then so be it.

"Hi miss, come and take my seat instead."

Out of nowhere, a fine gentleman approached Syra and offered her his seat.

Syra was visibly surprised by the other party's kind gesture but she kindly declined him afterward.

"It's okay, Sir. I'm good."

"Oh, please. I insist."

The young man said as he gestured at Syra to take the seat that he vacated for her.

Syra subconsciously looked in Clyde's direction, but she realized that he was not even paying her attention.

"Alright. Thank you, Sir."

In the end, Syra accepted the seat shyly.

"Don't call me sir, it is making me sound old. Besides, I don't think our age gap was that huge. Just call me, Harold."

The other party introduced himself then extended his hand to Syra to give her a handshake.

"Please to meet you, Harold."

Syra said as she accepted his handshake.

"And you are???"

Harold probed when he did not get Syra's name. However, before Syra could even reply to him, Clyde already interrupted them as he deliberately stood in between the two.

Despite his underhanded action of stopping the two from getting to know each other, Clyde's face remained expressionless.

Harold tried to squeeze in between Syra and Clyde but he was stopped by the hissing cat inside the man's bag.

For some reason, the previously sleeping cat started getting feral. It tried to claw its way out of the bag while eyeing him ferociously as though it desperately wanted to shred him into pieces

'Err??? What was with this master and cat duo interrupting me out of the blue?'

Harold thought to himself then he looked in Syra's direction, only to see her staring up at the other guy with an obviously annoyed expression.

Seeing this, Harold felt more determined because he thought that the reason why Syra seemed annoyed was that someone interrupted them

"Miss---"

He called out to get Syra's attention. But before he could even speak any further, Clyde already took Syra's hand and lead her closer to the road.

"The bus is coming, get ready."

Clyde said simply while still not letting go of Syra's hand.
