After she was done cleaning everything that needed to be cleaned, Syra started working on the kitchen next so she could cook something for them to eat.
She knew that if she wanted to make her stay at their residence quite a smooth sailing one, then one thing she had to do was to constantly keep herself under the other party's good graces, and that was what she would aim to do starting from that day onward.
Being used to attending the needs of her stepfamily at the most part of her life, Syra had grown quite used to doing household chores to the point that she could dare claim that if there was one thing she was really good at, that would be on the field of housekeeping.
Cleaning, cooking, washing, named it!
She could do them all too well with precision and close to perfection. It was like attending a house was something that she was trained to do starting from a long time ago.
Syra was a good cook and she was confident of it.
In fact, it was precisely for that same reason why the thought of cooking for Clyde was the first idea that came to her mind when she tried to think of a way on how she could possibly appease her disappointed master.
As the saying said, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach; well, although Syra was not exactly aiming for the other party's heart, at least, she was hoping to get a positive outcome from doing it.
The first thing that Syra did, as soon as she thought about cooking was to check the refrigerator. She was even excited to see that they have a huge double door fridge in the house.
"This place is sure luxurious. To think that a warlock was living more like a human than myself."
She thought to herself when she found out that even the appliances inside Clyde's house were all up to date.
Growing up, she used to dream about having a house of her own that was as high tech as Clyde's. Truth be told the part of the house that Syra loved the most was the kitchen as well.
So working on the kitchen that was as great as the one they had at the moment was something close to a dream come true for Syra.
"Woah! This one is the same as the ideal model I once saw in a mall!"
Syra exclaimed in delight when she realized that the fridge before her, was actually an Instaview Door in Door model where one no longer had to open the fridge itself just to see its contents; because even just by simply knocking on the panel, the items inside the fridge would already be revealed.
However, when she tried it out herself and she saw what was inside it, the amazed face that she was sporting a moment ago was instantly replaced with a sour expression instead and disappointed soon reflected on her eyes.
"This kitchen sucks! The grocery stocks were way too sparse. What a good for nothing kitchen."
Syra could not help but mutter under her breath when she realized that there were only a handful of ingredients available on the fridge.
