Chapter 25 - Chapter 25

I heard a noise. I'm alert in a second. But moving only my eyes I take a look around the room. Sliding against the wall was a lone man. He was blending into the wall rather well. Making me think that was part of his species. He was good at blending but not very silent. I waited as he slid closer. He had some dangerous claws no doubt tipped in poison for a faster and quieter kill. As soon as he was in range I attacked. Going straight for the throat I caught him by surprise. The only sound I heard was a gurgle as he choked on his blood and died.

As I stepped back from the body De'rax stood up. "You moved so fast I did not know you were aware of the intruder."

"I was aware of him the moment he stepped into our cell. He may have been camouflaged but he was not quiet."

Just as I finished my sentence the announcer came on.

"There you have it. The stealth from this match was no match for the team. That ends the second battle of number ten."

The announcer clicked off. That was our second battle? Someone came in and picked up the body cleaned our cell and quickly left. I looked at De'rax who had a puzzled look on his face.

"When did that fight begin? I had heard no announcement choosing numbers."

I shook my head. I didn't know any more than he did. What I did know is that I was still tired and hungry. My stomach growled to prove it. De'rax smiled.

"Indeed food does sound good."

No more than we said it then another walks in carrying a tray piled with food. Setting on the table they again quickly leave.

I investigate to see there is lots of the meat I had been eating at De'rax home. Plus many of the same veggies. Again they assume I'm a meat eater only. I sigh. I guess it doesn't matter either way I'm hungry. I began to tear into the meat going slower the fuller I got. I finished and went back to the bed to wait on De'rax.

He was just as hungry as I was but could eat more than I could. I watched him as he started to slow. When he finished he stood and went into the bathroom. I had to go but there was no door on the toilet. I had to shift to use it and it was not a good idea here.

When he came back out he looked at me waiting. I huffed. I hopped off the bed and padded into the bathroom. Staring at the toilet I was going to have to figure it out. I figured might as well sit on it. I stepped up and sat down facing the back of the toilet made it easier to stay seated. Before I knew it I started going. To my relief it went into the toilet and not all over me. I made it look like I did it this way all the time. I felt proud of myself. But not sure how I was going to wipe. Well I guess shaking myself it is. Ew but it worked.

Coming back into the room De'rax is on the bed waiting. I hop back up and lay down like before. Also like before we were both out just as fast.

I was jolted awake this time by the announcer.

"We are back to choosing our next match. What a show we have had. This is our grand finale. The match to end it all am we have three and ten."

No sooner than it was announced the gate went up for us to walk out. As soon as we stepped out the gate closed and the cage moved back. They didn't wait at all did they? Appearing out of the other cage is our opponents. I mean there are two of them as well. It was hard to tell the gender of the two but they were definitely alien. Well alien to me. I forgot where I was and am consider and alien myself.

When I could see them better I examined them for weaknesses. They both stood at De'rax height were lean build had four legs and a tail. They appeared to only have two arms and two eyes. Their mouths opened and looked like they could bite my head off in one go were filled with razor sharp teeth. I shuddered at the thought. In each hand they held swords with curved blades like scimitars and they appeared to be just as sharp.

"Did you see any weaknesses?"

"None that are easy to distinguish. We will just have to go on defensive to be certain of what we are dealing with."

De'rax strategy was sound. I braced myself for the first attack.
