Chapter 57 - Creation of a Runic Forge

Once Fire Essence is formed at the bottom of the iron pot, I immediately make use of it without letting it cool down. There is no need for it to cool down, as any drawn Runes with Fire Essence will burn with intense heat.

And that is why no one would draw Fire Runes on their body.

The Runic Formation I inscribed onto the floor of my room is that of a Runic Furnace. It will turn mana directly into flames, and the more mana I feed it, the more intense the flames will be. Of course, I have to be careful as just a mistake will result in an explosion, taking out the house as well as me.

I make a small version to test my working knowledge first before proceeding with a huge one. With all the Mana Crystal I can buy from the Shop System, the next batch of Fire Crystal melts quickly enough, producing a purer form of Fire Essence.

Using that pure form of Fire Essence, I trace over the Runic Formation to improve the efficient of Runic Furnace. With a more efficient Runic Furnace, I repeat the previous step, but with Fire Essence instead of Fire Crystal in order to produce even more pure form of Fire Essence.

I keep repeating until this method no longer produce sufficient result, and once I sell the final product to the Shop System, it tells me that I finally have a Low-Grade Fire Essence. Awesome!

After upgrading my Runic Furnace, I check the pool of water with a Mana Crystal within. Mana Crystal can be converted to Elemental Crystal by allowing them to absorb natural element. Drowning a Mana Crystal in water for a while, it will start transforming into a Water Crystal. A really weak one, but that is good enough for me.

Pure Low-Grade Runic Furnace, I can slowly and surely acquire Water Essence of decent purity. While I do that, I also try to increase the purity of a Life Essence as well as obtaining Death Essence. It cost a lot of Mana Crystal, but I will spare no expenses for this.

I sell all my belongings to generate more funds. My stuff doesn't worth much if I pawn it, but the Shop System gives it a much greater value due to sentimental reasons. It is possible to manipulate this, but I am pressing for time.

Once I have Low-Grade Life Essence, I immediately pick up one of my mother's pendant and begin to inscribe Runes onto it. When done, I channel a bit of mana into it, allowing it glow brightly. Holding to the chain end, I whisper. "Show me where your owner is."

The pendant immediately flies to one direction, showing me the way. And from the pulling strength, I can surmise that my mother is very far from here. She must have taken her car, and that is a worry as her car will stop working as soon as electricity does.

I can try to reach her on foot, but it will probably take too long, not to mention without preparation, I might get into sticky situation. The monsters are evolving very fast, and within a day or two, they will be far more than I can handle. I need better equipment.

There is also no need to rush to her right now, at least from the brightness of the pedant. My mother is not dying. In fact, she should be in perfect health from the glow alone. Maybe she is with someone – or a group of someone.

I constantly monitor the pendant as I begin to draw up a Runic Forge with Fire and Water Essence. The working knowledges of the Dwarven are of great help in this task.
