Layering Runes is just one of many possible methods of adding multiple elements enchantment to any item, weapons or otherwise. And the more layers there are, the more powerful the enchantments will be.
The element of Fire and Death play well with one another, and thus, they will complement each other in the enchantment, allowing me to use some special abilities such as Hellish Flames – a flames so hot and intense that it burns everything into ash within an instant.
It is also black in colour, which is pretty awesome and mystical.
Of course, I add more than one ability to the Katana just in case it is ineffective against my opponent, but sadly, there is a limit of how many I can add, and that is only because the blade itself doesn't have enough space for me to carve more.
Carving too many Runes will lower the structural integrity of the blade, thus it would render the blade extremely fragile. Of course, if the blade is made of better material such as Mithril then I might be able to carve more.
I also add Runes to the handle itself, but the element used is not Fire and Death. I obviously don't wish to burn or inflict curse upon myself. Although, it is a good idea to make sure that my weapons are only wieldable by me – unless I am planning on selling them.
And I do plan on selling them. No reason not to since I am a Merchant at heart.
Once the enchantment is done, I sell the blade to the Shop Weapon before buying it back. It is still not done, as a good blade requires a name, and as its creator, that is my right. In addition, a named blade will allow it to gain sentient, and I do like living weapons, as they can become more powerful.
I activate one of its abilities, setting the blade on fire. The surging black flame gives it an eerie and very dreadful aura. "Amaterasu. I think that is a good name."
The flames intensify, indicating that it has accepted its name without protest. Since it is now a unique blade due to having a name, I cannot duplicate it with the Shop System, and that is fine, to be honest.
I put Amaterasu into my Inventory before working on some armours and maybe some form of conceal weapons. I try to ignore all the vines knocking against the walls from outside, effectively damaging the Headquarter I am currently in. I instant repair any damage by paying some GPs.
The vines obviously know that I am here, and it is trying to break into the room and attack me, sucking me dry of my life force. That will not be happening, and I will deal with the vines and its owner once I am done with crafting my weapons and armours. Besides, it will never get in as long as I have money.
Since I do not want to run around in metal suits, I just add enchantments to my clothes. It will probably save me from dying in one shot, but it is better to not get hit at all.
And for the rest of the day, I add new enchantment to my guns as well as their ammunitions. Just one of each is good enough, as the Shop System does allow me to mass produce things for a price.
Since its now night time, I decide to take a rest to let my mind and body rest. It has been an incredible long day after all, running from one place to another, only to find I am not where I needed to be.
The pendant belonging to my mother continues to glow and points in one direction. I put it on and take a nap while the vines continuously banging against the barrier that protects my Headquarter.
