“Yes bro. I am going to court Aly. I will also fly to Bohol tomorrow.”
That statement from my older brother kept me awake the whole night.
What the hell? Was he serious? Or was he just kidding me?
Because even though that I know in myself that Ynna lied to me – big time, I hate how I am still very bothered. I hate to admit that I don’t want her going out with anybody else but me. But on the other hand, there’s still this part of me that doesn’t want to talk to her or even look at her. Yet.
The next morning, I immediately went to Ash’ room without permission.
“You cannot court her.” I started.
“She is single. I am single. I don’t think there’s wrong with that.” He said in a sleepy voice. He just woke up.
“She is not single.” I said with authority.
“What do you mean?” he now straightened his voice.
“I won’t let you have her, Ash.”
“Come on, broth—“
“If getting her back is the only way for you not to have her, then I’ll get her back.” I cut what he’s about to say.
Just as about he was to say something, I raised my ticket to Bohol that I booked just a few hours ago. The flight is going to be today. That shut him up. Shock was written all over his face. It took him minutes before he recovered.
“Not too fast, Sky.” He said while walking out again. I just smirked when he left.
Ash already has everything. And Ynna is the only one that’s left for me. And as crazy as it sounds, I cannot afford to lose her to Ash. There’s no way he’s gonna have Ynna for himself. Not in this lifetime.

I never thought that I’d be a stalker one day. But this is the only way I can protect Ynna from my brother. I hate how they have a crush on each other and I look like the bad guy in a perfectly made story. But the hell I care. I’ll prove to them that sometimes, bad guys win.
Bohol was beautiful. I stayed at a hotel near Ynna’s house. I can see from my window if she’s going out. Ash didn’t come because he knew that I was here. But that Caloy guy is getting into my nerves. He kept on hugging Ynna. And they talk a lot, too.
One day, I gave the girl named Merylle a threat. I told her that if I see Ynna crying again because of her, I’ll do something to Caloy – something that she will not like. Of course it made her nervous, he was obviously eyeing Caloy. Who would’ve thought that a girl would ever like him? Ha. Ha.
A month has passed with me just looking at Ynna’s little house from afar when I suddenly got a call from Ash that Ynna’s going back to Manila. I hate how he knew it before I did. Are they communicating? Fuck. And yup, it was true. That evening, I saw Ynna left her house with her bags and a ticket. And that’s what all I need to see. I booked my ticket back to Manila too.

The day I went back to school, the first thing I saw was her. She was looking straight at me and I know that she wants to start a conversation with me. I looked away. And when I looked back, I saw a pale of brown paint that’s about to hit her! I pulled her away and we accidentally get into a hug.
‘Oh, this lady and her effects on me.’ I thought as I tightened my hug. It took me a few minutes before I push myself away from her.
“S-Salamat, Sky.” Said Ynna.
“That means nothing. I’ll save anyone whose being bullied. Don’t assume anything.” I said using my most serious voice before I walked away.
I’m sorry Ynna, I am not yet ready to talk to you.

Dismissal time came and just as I was about to leave ECB, I saw a bunch of girls from the basketball team hurting Ynna! What the hell?! Why is she being bullied like that?! I don’t think she deserves that! I hurriedly went there to save her.
“What the hell are you doing to her?!” I told the basketball girls with full of anger. I am the team captian of the whole team after all. And just as I thought, they ran away.
So here we are, hugging each other for the second time this day. I looked at her straight in the eye as I fixed her hair. She looked tired from all the bullying. My poor Ynna is crying. A part of me felt the urge to kiss her right there to let her know that I am here and that everything’s going to be alright but another part of me refuses to. So I just ended up asking her a stupid question.
“Are you alright?” I asked.
“Um. Oo.” She said while bowing her head. She is not looking at me.
“Kapag may nambubully sayo, labanan mo. Hindi ako laging nandito para iligtas ka. May buhay din akong sarili.” I told her.
“O-Okay. Sorry.” She is still not looking at me and that pisses me off.
“At yung pagliligtas kong muli sayo, wala yung meaning.” I said. She finally looked at me. And that’s the moment I looked away.
“Oo. Alam ko naman na wala.” She answered.
“Good.” I said. I was about to leave her but then I my feet…ugh. It’s glued! “What the fuck is this?!” I shouted.
“S-Sorry Sky, nadamay ka pa tuloy sa pambubully sa akin.” Said Ynna.
“It’s alright.” I replied. Actually, I didn’t mind being glued with her. It was actually a nice excuse for being with her.
Silence…
“Sky…” she started.
“What?”
“Sky, bakit mo ako sinundan sa Bohol?”
*BOOOOG*
I actually panicked at her question but when I saw Dwight holding the glue we are stepping at, I knew that all of this was planned. The paint, the bullies and this glue. Tss!
“Fuck! So this is all planned?” I hissed.
“Sky –“
“Ano ka ba naman Ynna! Or Aly! Or whatever! Hanggang dito ba naman namemeke ka pa rin?! Magpakatotoo ka naman kahit minsan!” I said out of frustration. How can they do this to me?! Agh!
“Sorry Sky, gusto ko lang naman na magka-ayos tayo eh.” She’s crying. I hate seeing her that way!
“So you think that faking this bully thing will make us good?”
“Pero bakit mo ako sinundan sa Bohol?” she asked again. She's trying to be bold this time.
“I didn’t follow you. I-I just have a business there.” I lied before I walked out. Luckily the glue had it’s effect gone.
Whew! That was close!

The next morning, I went early to ECB to confront The Vengeance. I have a feeling that they are in their complete attendance in the black room. And I was right.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” I asked when I opened the door. I knew that they know who and what I am talking about.
“Sky! Welcome home!” said King.
“Bumalik na sa wakas si Team Captain!” said Erick.
“How’s life with Aly?” it was Aus.
“Sky.” Chase nodded.
“Too many welcome messages. It’s annoying.” I said. Irritated.
“Pero ‘di nga? Hindi ba gusto mo pa din si Aly? Kasi kung hindi mo na siya gusto, sana hindi ka nalang sumunod sa Bohol. Tinutulungan ka lang naman namin eh.” It’s Dwight.
“All of you don’t know a thing. So please. Huwag na kayong makialam.” I said blankly.
“Oo nga! Mang-chicks nalang kasi tayo.” – Viel
“Shut up, Viel.” – Clyde
I looked at Ash who’s the only one not talking and greeting me. He just gave me a stare.
“Thanks, Dwight.” I said.
“Huh? Why thank him?” asked King.
“Dahil nadapa si Dwight, nalaman kong pinaglololoko niyo lang ako.”
“Welcome bro! Oh tignan niyo! Buti pa si Sky nagpasalamat sa akin! Ang galing ko kasi talaga eh! Whoo!” he said, so full of himself.
“You know what, if you have plans on helping Ynna. Drop it. I will not entertain her anymore.” I said with finality on my voice.
“Uy si Ynna!” shouted Erick. I immediately looked on the direction he pointed at.
“HAHAHAHAHA!”
“HAHAHA! YAN PALA ANG WALA NANG PAKE!”
“OO NGA! ANG BILIS NG LEEG EH!”
“PAANO NAMAN MAPUPUNTA DITO SI YNNA NG HINDI KUMAKATOK?”
“HAHAHAHA! PATAWA KA BRO!”
“MAY WILL NOT ENTERTAIN PANG NALALAMAN EH!”
“Tss.” I said while they kept on laughing.
“Bro, try to talk to Aly.” Ash said. Wow. He actually talked to me this time.
“Wala kang pake.” I answered.
“Okay if that’s what you like.” He replied.
“Sky, hindi na namin tutulungan si Aly. Yan ang gusto mo, susundin namin. Pero Sky, hindi rin namin pipigilan si Ash na manligaw kung sakali.” Said Erick.
Silence...
“Fine.” I said with a boring tone although there’s this thing that boils inside of me at the thought that Ash might still pursue Ynna.
“Ash vs Sky it is.” Said Austin with a grin.
“May the best man win.” – Viel
“I quit.” The voice came from… Ash?
“What?”
“I don’t what to be the bad guy in your lovestory, bro. I know that even though you don’t say it, I know that you still love Alynna. And as your older brother, instead of getting the girl you love from you, I’ll be here to help you get to know her more.”
So her name is Alynna?
“What are you talking about?” I asked.
“I’m here yo give you an offer.”
“I don’t need that.”
“I don’t need you to need my offer. I just want to give it to you as a gift.”
“The hell?”
“Her real name is Alynna Marie Paredes. Her nickname is Ynna or Aly. She’s 17 years old turning 18 this Christmas. She lives in Bohol with her father. She weighs 45kg and stands 5’4 tall. And she loves a man named Sky Anderson.”
So that’s the name of the girl I love.
“We are also friends on facebook.”
What the hell? Why do I need to know if they are friends in facebook or not?
“And I am giving you my facebook password.”
I looked at Ash and he seemed serious. Was he...?
“Yes. Everything started when she pretended to be a different person. And now, I am giving you the permission and the chance to talk to her through my facebook account as me.”
“Why are you doing this?” I asked him.
“I am doing this to give you a chance to get to know her better.”
“You are crazy.”
“My offer is only valid for one month. If you didn’t get her by that time frame, then Aly’s going to be mine. I will really pursue her. So think about it, bro.” he said as he handed me his facebook password.
“No thanks.” I said. "I can get her without your help."
He didn’t force me to get his password but he left it in the drawer near the dining area of the black room.
“As you wish.” He said before going out to the black room. He was then followed by the others.
I am notw left here in the black room looking at the drawer where his facebook password was located thinking if I should get it or not.
But I decided not to. I can take anyone’s help. Just not the help coming from Ash.

[P.E. Class]
“So class, our P.E. lesson today is all about dancing!” the professor happily said. “And you will be in partners!”
“Omg! Dance tayo ngayon! Kilig!!!”
“Sana partner ko ngayon si Sky!”
“Oo nga break na din naman sila ni pooritang Ynna eh!”
“Sana nga kami ang partners ni Sky! Tapos magkikiss kami!”
“Ako ang mas bagay sa kanya!”
“But class, there’s more! Your class will be merged to the block HF21 since there are more girls there!” the professor added.
“YAY!!!” the girls and boys shouted. Ugh. Annoying.

When our class entered the dance hall, the block HF21 is already there waiting. And there I saw her looking at her feet, alone in that little space with no one to talk to. I suddenly want to be with her and talk to her when she looked at me. Yup, Ynna was part of HF21. And unluckily, Janina is part of it too.
Ynna stood up and walked to where I am standing but before she can go near me, she was blocked my Janina, Karen and Debbie.
“So anong inalalapit lapit mo kay Sky? Dyan ka lang sa sulok!” Janina shouted at her sister. She's a witch.
“K-Kakausapin ko lang siya.”
“Hindi ka niya gustong kausapin!” it was Karen shouting. I wanted to punch her.
“Padaanin niyo nalang ako, please.”
“Who do you think you are for us to give way for you?” now it’s Debbie.
“Please.” she repeated.
“No. Sky is going to be my partner.” Said Janina.
“I am not going to be your partner.” I whispered at her ear. She was shocked on how near I am to her. Yes, I went to where they are standing while they are busy bullying Ynna.
“I am!” Janina screamed. She is such a spoiled brat.
I know that she’s going to kiss me when she tipped her toe so I hurriedly pushed her away. I really don’t like her and her attitude towards her sister.
“Why the hell did you push me?!” she’s mad. Like I care.
“I don’t kiss spoiled brats.” I looked at her with sharp eyes.
“Ugh!!!! I hate you!!! Edi dyan ka na kay Alynnang basura! Magsama kayo sa basura! Bagay nga kayo! I hate you!!!!” she screamed and walked away with her girls. What an annoying group of friends.
“Hindi siya basura. Kayo ang basura!” I said in a tone that I know they will still hear even though they are walking away.
“Die!!!” she screamed. I laughed. As for Ynna, she’s shocked.
The class has started and the boys are the one who’s going to choose their girl partners for the dance. On the right side of the hall, every guy wants to be Janina’s partner but she kept on rejecting them. But on the other side, Ynna is all alone again sitting on the floor while hugging her knees. No one wants to be her partner. No one dared to go near her.
“Ubos na ang girls! Dun na kayo kay Alynna! Hahahaha! Kadiri!”
“Yucks! Ayoko nga partner ang scholar! Mahirap!”
“Si Janina rin oh wala pang partner! Pihikan masyado!”
“Hinihintay yata niyan na lumapit si Sky sa kanya eh.”
“Oo nga! Iba talaga ang level ng mayayamang ito.”
When I heard those chit chats from the boys near me, I hurriedly walked to where Ynna is sitting and offered her my hand. She looked at me in teary eyes. Fuck, why is she crying again?!
“S-Sorry…” she said while wiping her tears. She held my hand and I helped her stand up.
“I’ll be your partner.” I said.
“S-Sky, alam mong gusto kitang makausap. Pero hindi mo kailangang maawa sa akin.”
“Hindi kita kinaaawaan. Gusto lang talaga kitang partner.” I said. And that’s an honest answer.
She looked away.
Damn, she is still very pretty.
“Okay, looks like everyone already has their partners. Let’s start with the simple positions. Guys, put your hand on the waist of the girl….” The professor started her instructions.
When I looked at Ynna for the touching of the waist, suddenly everything felt awkward. And it became more awkward when the song played on.

My shaking hands touched her waist and pulled her closer. I looked her straight in the eye and she did the same to me. We might not be talking but we both know that our eyes can give us the answers to the words unspoken. Damn this girl. She is the only one who has the power to make me fall this hard.

We both know that this is also the song when we first danced together at the rehearsal room before. And this is the song when I almost kissed her. And it felt like I wanted to kiss her all over again today. We swayed like what our professor told us to do. But then I can’t control myself. I pulled her closer to the point that our nose are almost touching and our lips ready for kissing. She closed her eyes and gave in for the moment…

…But all I did was a tease. I didn’t kiss her. I was actually about to. But I saw our professor looking at us intently so I pushed her away mildly. It looked like Janina and her team told our professor about it. When I looked back at Ynna, she is now looking again at the floor.
“You think I’m gonna kiss you?” I teased her.
“H-Hindi ah.”
“But why did you close your eyes?”
“I-Inaantok ako.” she lied.
“Haha. Nice excuse you got there.”
“Hindi ako nag-eexcuse noh.”
Silence…
“You know what, you are still very pretty.” I said. I mean it.
“H-Ha?”
“I don’t repeat my statements.”
I was waiting for her answer but all she did was cry again.
“H-Hey, why are you crying again?”
“S-Sky, I-I miss you. Patawarin mo na kasi ako. Please.”
I didn’t answer her. Instead, I just wiped her tears away using the back of my hand. I touched her cheek and put our foreheads together. I closed my eyes.
“Soon.”
That was the last word I said before the professor dismissed us.

Before I went home, I went to the black room to get Ash’ facebook password on the drawer. I really want to talk to Ynna with no awkwardness and Ash’ offer is the best thing to do with that. But of course, I didn’t let him know that I got it.
I immediately opened my laptop and logged on Ash’ account the moment I went home. The first status I saw made me laugh hard.

What the?! So Ash didn’t actually tried to court Ynna at all! All this time, he was just helping Ynna and me fix our problem! But why is he doing that? And why is he this kind to me?
Alynna: HOY!!!
Alynna: Bakit ayaw mo magreply bruhildo ka!!!!

I laughed. She is still my Ynna.
Ash: What?

Ash: I think he’s just waiting for you to court him. Trust me. I know my brother.

Damn.
I miss her.
I miss talking to her. I miss laughing with her. I miss kissing her. I miss hugging her. I miss every single thing about her.
I miss her being my wacky girlfriend. It felt like a part of me was lost when we started not to talk. But I believe that everything happens for a reason. Maybe I just needed to know who she really is for me to love her better. Because right now, I am willing to know who Alynna Marie Paredes really is.
But this time, I will not be in a hurry to be with her or to go out with her. I know that we are both not yet ready to enter a relationship for our wounds are not yet healed. But sometime in the future, I know that we will still be together.
Right now, I just want to be her chat buddy. An online friend. This way, I know that I can get to know the real her better. And maybe we can give our broken relationship another try. Maybe we can build out trust to each other once again. I need to let her earn my trust again as herself and not as any other person she is pretending to be.
But this time, we will not be in a hurry.
Let’s take it slowly.
