*Flashback*
*She was disgusted and disappointed by her mother's actions. She wished desperately to be away from this place and try to get more answers. Because of the feelings she was having, and the way her senses were on high alert, she knew that this was a part of her memories. 'Why, why can't I remember this? When did this even-" Wren gasped deeply as she felt her body and mind violently forced through another memory.
COUGH COUGH! Wren was coughing, trying to catch her breath, and focus her eyes to the new memory in front of her. "Hey Wren-Wren, where's Mom and Dad? They said they would come get me before the storm was supposed to hit." Wren could feel her heart beating ferociously in her chest. She hadn't heard his voice or looked at his little face in years. She desperately wanted to hug her brother. "Diego, *sniff* I'm here Diego! *sniff sniff* Please come to your sister!" Wren yelled out to Diego between sniffles, hoping deep in her heart she could trade places with him. "I'm here Ego!" Wren heard her younger voice followed by quick footsteps approaching her brother. "Wren-Wren, I asked for you to not call me Ego," The young boy crossed his arms and stuck out his tongue towards young Wren.
Young Wren rolled her eyes and ignored his comment, "Ma is coming, she said she had to drop something off with Conner? Do you know who he is brother?" Diego's body tensed up after hearing the name Conner. 'Wow, so Diego knew of him? How come-' "Sister, please stay away from him. Don't ever let him see you in person. D-Don't trust him. He's a b-bad man. A really bad man..." Wren's thoughts were interrupted my Diego's statement. Young Wren was surprised by her brothers statement but nodded her head. "I cross my heart Brother." Diego's body seemed to relax some, and he quickly embraced his sister. 'Oh yeah, I remember this. I was confused by Diego's behavior. He must have known something and didn't, well couldn't tell me.'
Wren continued to watch the scene in front of her as she pondered on what her brother said. Their age was very close, only being 3 months apart. From a young age they both knew they weren't really siblings, but they always had a close connection. He was older than her but she remembered always feeling like she was the big sister. 'Oh Diego, how I wish I could have gotten to you in time,' Wren could feel the tears slowly rolling down her cheeks. She looked back up towards the memory instead of down at her body and noticed something she hadn't before. The memory always 'played back' in front of her eyes as if she was someone watching the scene in person, but this one seemed different.
She could see a blurry spot in the corner of her eye, and tried to move her eyes to see what was in her field of vision, but she couldn't. She also noticed there was a pause and slight jump almost as if something had been erased. "B-but that's not- that shouldn't be possible? It's my memories, not a movie. Did I just forget something or-" Wren stopped talking and listened carefully. She could hear as well as feel that someone was approaching her body. Wren tried to reach out with her mind to try and make a connection but was not able to do so. "What do you want with me? Why are you making me re-live these moments? Are you-" *KLACK!* Someone hit the area next to her ear with something that sounded heavy. Wren stopped talking and tried once again to turn her head.
"You don't remember me My Lady? We met not that long ago and here you are forgetting me. Some manners you have," Wren didn't recognize the voice but she could tell it was a man. *WHACK!* Wren yelled out in pain as the object made forceful content with her face. She could taste blood in her mouth, "*spit* Okay now I really want to know who you are so I can find you when I'm out of this- *WHACK!* The man hit Wren once again, but this time he hit close to her eye. "I'm doing the talking here Priestess. We met at the hospital a few days ago. I thought you Shadow Unit's had good memory, heh. I was the one who told you that your clan sent me to kill you. My name is Josai."
Wren tried to recall their meeting. "Oh, now I remember! You were the one who smelt weird and who I hit in the face with the remote, haha. Yes, now I remember you." Wren was still giggling when Josai went to hit her face again, but stopped mere inches/centimeters from her face. "Lady, you really need to keep your mouth shut if you dont want more wounds to your body. I can feel that your energy if very low at the moment and I also know you lost a lot of blood. If you continue to provoke me, I'll make sure you can't make it to your precious Diego." Josai chuckled and turned to walk away. Wren was in shock.
"Wait, what do you mean by that Josai? Diego has been dead for years. Why would it make a difference if I could make it to his grave or not?" She noticed his footsteps stopped, "Huh? They told you he was dead? Heh, how typical. I bet they also told you that evil lass Shannon was your mother right?" Wren was stunned silent, unable to form words she simply nodded her head, unsure if Josai could see her or not. "*sigh* Gosh, it's been so lo-hey do you know about the Kalina Clan? Like, the really real information about it?" She shook her head lightly, "They never told me. After mom, dad, and Diego died our Leader took me into the temple." Wren was trying to free herself from her restraints, hoping that Josai hadn't yet caught onto her.
Josai sighed once again and started walking to Wren's body. She could hear him mumbling a chant, they suddenly the memory view was gone, replaced by an abandoned warehouse. It was dark, smelled of mold, and she could tell it was dusty. Wren looked over and could finally see Josai standing before her. He began leaning close to her and she could feel the warmth radiating from his body as he put his head near hers. "Stop struggling Wren, you can't possibly escape the restraints. Besides, we are inside a realm where you don't have any control. You will die here Wren-" *CLINK.* There was a sound of a small metal object hitting the hard concrete below. Wren smirked and turned to face Josai, now that her hands were free she could stand a chance, "So tell me again how am I going to DIE here Josai? Now that my hands are free were are evenly match" *WHACK!* Josai was furious and lifted a wooden bat above his head, striking down to injure Wren.*
