Wren felt her connection with Josai forcefully separated. She yelled out in pain and took a deep breath in but immediately felt as if there was a tremendous weight on her chest. She tried to squirm away from it but she stopped when she suddenly felt a hot stinging sensation in her arms and legs. She tossed and rolled hoping to alleviate this feeling. The weight on her chest, and now within her head seemed to be increasing to the point to where she could no longer breath.
"P-Please..." Wren managed to talked but that was all she could muster. She began to open her mouth to speak again, but she heard a high pitch ringing in her ears, and once again yelled out in pain. "...Wren..." Wren's body continued to contort in efforts to alleviate her pain. "Wren!" Wren finally heard her name being called and she froze in her place. "Wren, can you hear me? I-I hope you can because...Heh, well I miss you dearly...I uh, don't know exactly where I am-" Tears were running down her cheeks, she no longer felt the physical pain to her body, but rather a heavy, deep sadness in her heart. "Please listen, I've been wandering around a realm that originates within the South. I'm not sure how I got here or how to leave...The only way I managed to contact...H-Hey what are you doing!? NO! Don't touch her! Dont you dare touch my-"
"Madame Priestess, please say something if you can hear me! Blink, nod your head, please-" *COUGH COUGH!* Wren started coughing and choking. "Sir Shoyo, she's choking! I need your-" "Turn her on her side!" Sir Shoyo yelled to her. Vivi did as she was told and Wren began spitting out the blood and spit that filled her mouth and throat. Vivi's mind was racing, 'How did she get worse? They were helping her heal and yet...' her thoughts trailed off as she tried to focus her mind to continue to help Wren. Shortly after, Wren finally was able to stop choking and took deep breaths in and out while holding her chest. Vivi noticed that Wren had dust and dirt on her face, making her trail of tears all the more obvious. Wren opened her mouth but after doing so, she immediately closed it. Vivi turned to get Wren a cup of water and as soon as she turned, Wren opened her mouth once again, but this time it was to vomit.
Vivi was concerned for Wren, but she also worried about the state Michael was in, 'Gosh, I didn't want to leave him like that! Psh, Shoyo making me teleport here; interrupting my work; ugh.' Vivi brought the water and a small damp towel to Wren, who looked at her apologetically. Vivi smiled sweetly, "Our main focus is to get you well again Madame Priestess. Don't worry about-" Vivi looked down towards the mess that was on the floor near Wren and was shocked. She grabbed a plastic glove from the small bedside table near Wren and reached to pick something out of the blood and vomit. During this time, Amber, Aster, and the others had arrived and were standing near the entrance of the room. Vivi looked over towards the group and noticed that Amber was covering her mouth and turned to leave, presumably because the messy scene before her. Vivi then motioned for the rest of them to leave as well, and they slowly walked across the hall to an empty waiting area.
Vivi then returned her attention to Wren who had adjusted her body into a sitting position, "Madame Priestess...uhm, have you visited the Southern Territory lately?" Wren couldn't believe her ears and she put a hand to her forehead, 'Ugh, I feel so dizzy. How did that get...Bleh; gross and weird,' Wren slowly shook her head in response and motioned for Vivi to show her what she found. She stretched her hand out towards Wren to show her the object, "This is a token often given to those who visit the Southern Temple and are deemed Banished or branded as a Wanderer. Their Reigning Elders only possess 4 to distribute as they see fit. Does any of this sound familiar to you? I know you are not an Elder, but I thought they-" "Miss Vivian, would you please cease your talking until Madame Priestess has recovered to some extent? She still looks rather pale; I have Miss Naya in a stable condition, but I am curious as to how Sir Michael is doing?"
Vivi's face went pale and her eyes wide, "H-How...*sigh* I'm sor-" Sir Shoyo shook his head and smiled lightly, "I know you had his best interest in mind, I felt his aura before we reached them and I could also feel that you were there as well. When the two auras I know very well, vanish within seconds; well, I have enough knowledge about the way of our people to decipher the outcome." Vivi was nervous but she felt relieved. She looked back over to Wren whose eyes had gone wide. "M-Madame are you okay? Do you need to vomit again? Any pain?" Wren opened her mouth slightly and tried to speak, "Mi-Michael?" Wren hoped that Vivi would understand what her was asking even though her voice was low and raspy, 'How is he?'
Vivi seemed to understand, "When I left him, he was stable but still unconscious. I took care of what was to be 'kept secret,' and tended to his wounds. I need to go back and ensure he is in fact awake. He must be confused," Vivi awkwardly smiled to Wren and scratched her head, she had only mouthed the words "kept secret" and hoped Sir Shoyo didn't notice. Wren sighed and looked around the small room, finally eyeing some paper. She looked over to Vivi and looked over and pointed to the paper. "Oh, yes Madame Priestess, let me fetch you a writing utensil." Vivi grabbed a tissue and set the token down on the small bedside table, then scurried off outside the room. "Madame Priestess, I don't doubt your reasons, but you should really be careful when crossing the clan checkpoints with others. If we would not have found Sir Michael and Miss Naya when we did, their lives could have been lost. I rummaged through Miss Naya's mind and noticed the aura of a Great Animal Spirit," Wren nodded in response to Sir Shoyo's comment.
Sir Shoyo sighed, "Is it Haruki again? Well whatever the case, I notified the appropriate members of the clan and they are currently handling this situation. Once you rest and recover I would like you to tell me what transpired and what caused your first set of wounds as well as your current state." Wren nodded again, "I trust Miss Vivian, therefore I know Sir Michael is doing well. Miss Naya had a few episodes relating to the delayed reaction of the toxin within that powder, but she will recover soon without lasting negative effects." Sir Shoyo put down the medical tools he was cleaning under the water and looked towards Wren.
"Madame, nothing good will come of entering the Southern Territory. I'm not sure how you received a token...furthermore I am not sure how it ended up in your stomach, but if it is knowledge you seek-" "It's Diego. He-*cough cough* He's not...at least not completely. *cough* He needs..." Wren's voice trailed off and she began to wobble where she sat, Sir Shoyo rushed to her side, but she ended up falling back onto the bed and lost consciousness once more.
