A man who had just turned forty sat in his luxurious office in Manhattan, New York. He couldn't sit still in his expensive leather office chair so he kept pacing back and forth.
Mischievous hazel eyes followed his every movement as if a spell had been cast on him. In reality he was waiting for the perfect opportunity to annoy his twin brother.
"You know, if you keep pacing like that you'll dig a hole and find yourself in the thirty ninth floor." Andrew laughed hysterically.
Alexander shot his twin brother an ice cold glared which only fueled Andrew's laughter. He sighed running his hands through his thick red messy hair for the hundredth time today.
He was waiting for an important call from his trusted private investigator McCall about his long lost daughter.
"Now is not the time to make jokes Andrew, McCall's call is late and I'm really hoping that he has good news this time around." Alexander told Andrew who had finally become serious. He too knew how overwhelmed his brother had been since he found out that he had a daughter eighteen years ago only for mother and daughter to disappear after he declared that he wanted full custody.
Nobody could blame him though since the mother of his child clearly wanted his money. She had a ring on her wedding finger which he had realized he has when he decided to bed her. His only conclusion was that she was a cheater or her husband's wealth did not satisfy.
He himself had been married but his lovely wife had passed away a couple of months before he bedded that woman. They had no children, which was one thing he had wanted the most but after the death of his wife and the disappearance of his daughter he gave up hope.
He never married or entertained women again. One had scorned him enough when she ran away with his child to try again. He only hope that that woman and her husband treated his daughter right because if not, heads were going to roll.
"I know brother, let's just be patient and am sure my niece will be with us soon enough." Andrew the ever mischievous one could utter some sense in some occasions.
Alexander was about to start pacing again when his desk phone rung. He literally pounced on it and answered with a breathlessly. "Galanis, speak."
"Ah, Mr Galanis, it's McCall, couldn't wait for a few seconds to answer or do you just miss me?" The PI spoke through the line teasingly.
"Cut the crap McCall, what do you have for me?" Alexander asked angrily, you could clearly see his blue eyes turn paler.
Andrew decided to move back a few inches because he knew that an angry Alex might as well be a ticking time bomb.
Seth McCall decided it was best to keep the joking aside for he understood his best friend's short temper. "Okay, I got information from my sources in Los Angeles that Maria Fontana's resides in Beverly Hills along with her husband Bryan Fontana and children, fraternal twins, Alec Fontana, Summer Fontana and the youngest Sapphire Rose."
"Is that all you got or what." Alex asked barely containing himself from yelling.
"No, Alex. The whole family is blonde except for Sapphire, and uhh..." Seth trailed off knowing he was digging his own grave.
"Spit it already you asshole." Alex cursed then sighed. "I'm sorry Seth but you are hanging on thin wire right now. Do you have any photos that I can look at?" He decided to use a completely different tactic knowing that he was about to trash his office if this conversation went in that direction.
"Yes, I do." Seth answered understanding his friend.
"Come to the office in exactly thirty minutes. You should put that Lamborghini I bought you for your birthday to use, I don't care if you are in the Sahara be here in half an hour." Alex mocked.
Normally, Alex was not that mean to his friends, but any matters to do with his daughter was business which meant friendship aside.
Seth just laughed as if he had not been threatened barely a minute ago. "I hope his daughter helps him remove the stick that's stuck up his ass when conducting business." He joked to himself as he made his way to the garage whistling gleefully.
Alex was in his own world imagining how he has going to spoil his little girl. Andrew was no different since he had no children of his own being gay. He always treats his sisters kids like his own, but this would be different. This time he would not have to deal with boys, but a girl his niece. He simply couldn't wait.
The office door bust open making the two brothers drift from their imagination.
Their sister, Amethyst sashayed into the office followed by their parents.
"Amethyst, what did I tell you about badging into my office like that." He scolded her as if he was scolding his ten year old nephews nor a forty year old woman.
Amethyst just smirked at him as if annoying her brother was entertaining. "Oh, hush Alex you love me. I'm your favorite after all." She said smirking at Andrew who in turn scowled at her.
"Not for long though. You see our dear brother is closer than ever to finding his daughter." Andrew smirked at his sister who just shrugged saying.
"Can't compete with a father daughter relationship."
"Son, are we finally going to meet our granddaughter?" Alcander Galanis asked his son his blue eyes almost teary.
"Yes, dad. We are close to finding her." Alex answered hugging his petite mother close. She was so emotional that she was unable to utter a word. Such a gentle soul she was.
