By the time they arrived in Alex's home in Beverly hills, Alex was already drowsy from lack of sleep. He decide to have a shut eye for a couple of hours. Alex did not want to meet his daughter for the first time looking like a zombie.
"I'm off to bed guys. Goodnight." He wished his family as he ascended the grand staircase.
The house itself was castle like. At the very top secluded part of the hill hidden by vast trees. It was a majestic and most expensive house looking down as if saying to the other mansions in the expensive neighborhood, "you ain't got nothing on me peasants."
From the tall and intimidating black steel gate, two long driveways led to a large beautiful fountain formed a circle around it.
The three storey house had a total of twenty bedrooms each with its own bathroom.
Five bedrooms in each floor. The ground floor housed a large family room, state of the art kitchen and a twenty seat dining table. The bedrooms on the ground floor were smaller than the rest. The butler and housekeepers stayed in three of the five bedrooms. The first floor housed the guest bedrooms and game room. The second floor housed the family rooms and the theatre. The third floor housed Alex and his daughter's room which now he couldn't wait for her to occupy.
There was a huge backyard with lush trimmed green grass. There were shades and rest areas, and an Olympic size full at the far conner. Many families in Beverly hills only dreamed of living in the at the top of the hill. Some even say it would feel like royalty just living there. Only the richest of the rich could own it and Alex was the richer than the richest. Crap he was in the same level as the Queen of England.
Alex woke up at exactly five in the a.m. He spent almost an hour getting ready, changed every suit he thought he would look perfect in for his daughter. He wondered if he should his hair shaggy or gell it back. He just couldn't decide.
Amethyst helped the cook make breakfast and set the table. Everybody was already seated ready to dig in except for Andrew who literally dag in. He was always a foodie.
"Uhhh, where's Alex?" She asked. "He's never late."
"I don't know honey. My guess is he is just anxious for today." Emma sighed.
"Okay, I'll check up on him." Amethyst declared as she made her way to the third floor.
Amethyst was not prepared for what she saw when she entered Alex's room. It was as if a tornado had hit the room. Clothes on the floor, designer shoes and his bedside table had been flipped.
In the middle of all that chaos, she saw Alex sitting at the edge of the bed head in his hands crying softly. Her heart broke at the sight. Her always strong brother was distressed. Amethyst immediately run to him.
"What's wrong Alex?" She asked. "Shouldn't you be happy that you'll finally meet your daughter?"
"I'm happy, but worried that she will not want me." He answered disheartened. "I mean, I haven't been in her life for eighteen years."
"I'm sure if you explain to her what happened she will understand. Now get dressed everyone is waiting for you and Seth has more information on Alec." Amethyst stood to leave the room. When she was about to open the door, Alex called her back.
"Ame, what should I wear?" He asked his sister sheepishly.
Amethyst was surprised at first almost laughing but when she saw the serious look in Alex's blue eyes, she covered her laugh with a cough.
"Oh, no wonder your room is a mess. Okay, just dress casual today, you are not going for a business meeting but to meet your daughter. Some jeans, a T shirt and maybe a light jacket, this place is hot." She paused for a while and gave Alex a once over humming softly. Fashionista Amethyst was already out to play. "You need a haircut shorten the sides, and your stubble also needs a trim." She turned to leave when she called out over her shoulder. "Put on some sneakers not your shiny business shoes."
"Whatever." Alex grumbled quietly.
Amethyst made her way back to the dining room smiling softly.
"Is he okay?" Alcander asked his daughter.
"Yes, he just needed some fashion advice."
Andrew almost choked. "What?"
"I know right, couldn't believe it myself." Amethyst said.
"Well, I'll be damned." Seth exclaimed as he watched Alex make his way to the head if the table all casually dressed. "He even wore the Jordan Retros he bought a year ago that had been collecting dust in his shoe closet."
"Shut up McCall." Alex glared. "What have you got for me on Alec?" He asked seriously.
"Not much. He finishes school at 3 p.m. drives a red Shelby Mustang, and his father's security has been tailing him for a couple of weeks when he found out that he had been helping Sapphire." Seth paused when Andrew raised his hand.
"Will that be a problem?" Andrew asked.
"No, today is on a Friday, and as my sources informed me, he goes grocery shopping after school, drives around trying to loose the security then heads to Sapphire's apartment downtown to deliver the grocery. He doesn't stay at the Sapphire's for long, about ten minutes." He concluded.
Alex was relieved that at least there was someone looking after his daughter. He swore to himself that by the end of the day, that would be his job as it should have been from the beginning.
"What, I'm I supposed to do before 3 p.m." Alex asked angrily.
"We could go car shopping uncle." Ryder suggested. "Buy her a car or two maybe."
"That's actually a good idea. I get to spoil my granddaughter." Alcander declared happily. He has always loved car shopping.
"Oh God, please don't buy more than two cars." Emma ordered knowing that they would do just that. "Now Amethyst, how about we go shopping ourselves. Maybe even do a little baby shopping." She declared happily.
Upon hearing about baby shopping, Andrew had already jumped ship and boarded the Emma and Amethyst's ship.
They set off to their various shopping trips with security close behind.
One thing was clear though, Sapphire would be well taken care of and showered with love.
