Chapter 8 - Alec Meets Alex

Alec was in his last period of the day, art. It was his favourite subject but today he found himself not concentrating on his drawing. He had a feeling that something was going to happen, but whether good or bad, he didn't know. He shrugged his shoulders dismissively.

The final bell rang and he made his way out of school hurriedly. He was about to exit the main door when someone called him. He knew exactly who it was.

"What do you want Hunter, I don't have all day." He asked frustrated. He still had to go grocery shopping. He didn't want Sapphire starving since the last delivery he had done was two weeks ago.

"Why do you keep ignoring me?" Hunter asked.

Alec just stared at him blankly. He still wondered why entertained Hunter after what he had done to Sapphire.

"Are we done here?" He asked. Not even bothering to wait for an answer, he turned and walked away.

As Alec walked through the parking lot, he noticed that his fellow students were all staring in one particular direction. He became curious. Normally, people would be in a hurry to get home, but today was different.

He didn't give it a thought as he was already late. What he saw was definitely a sight to see. No wonder the others were staring.

He couldn't believe it himself. There parked next to his Mustang was the limited edition Mercedes Benz. The most expensive car in the world. He was sure that wherever Hunter was he was drooling. This was his dream car though he could not afford it even though he was rich. Only royalty could afford this type of car.

As he neared his car, a redheaded handsome man got out of the drivers side. You could practically hear the girls swoon.

Alec thought the man looked familiar, but as soon as the man turned around and looked directly at him he knew where the familiarity was from.

"Sapphire, he looks exactly like Sapphire." He quietly muttered to himself.

"Alec Fontana?" The man addressed him.

"Y-yes." He stuttered.

Alex was relieved to catch him on time. He spent the whole day in different car dealerships to make sure the he bought his daughter the perfect car.

He had bought her the same model Mercedes as the one he was driving except hers was electric blue while his was silver. His father had risked and bought her a matte black Dodge Challenger. The twins, Ryder and Rylan has suggested a bigger car so that she can drive her child when time comes.

Alex and his father ended up buying a white Range Rover sport with enough space for car seats.

When they got home, they almost tripped on the shopping bags on every corner of the house. Seems that Emma and Amethyst had bought the whole baby shop. Andrew had even bought paint. When asked he said that he would be the one painting the nursery. His day had been eventful but now was time to go get his daughter.

"My name is Alexander Galanis, and I need to talk to you urgently." Alex pointed out softly.

Alec didn't even question him, he had a rough idea on what the man wanted to talk to him about.

"Okay Sir, but what about my car?" He asked worriedly.

Alex had already thought about that too. "Don't worry, my brother we'll drive it." He paused then peered inside the car. "Get out of my car Andrew, I don't have all day." He ordered scowling.

The passenger side door opened and an exact copy of the man stepped out except he had rust colored hair.

"Toss him the keys Alec." Alex told him as he got into the drivers side.

Alex did as told and got into the expensive car. As soon as he closed his door, Alex peeled off.

It was then that Alec remembered about the grocery shopping. "Uuhhh, Mr Galanis , I'm supposed to do some grocery shopping for my sister Sapphire and I'm already thirty minutes late. Do you mind making a stop at the next grocery store please?" Alec almost pleaded.

"No, problem kid."

"So what did you want to talk to me about?" Alec asked though he already knew.

Alex sighed. "As you have already figured out, I'm related to Sapphire and I really need to talk to her. I've waited and searched for her for eighteen years. I couldn't let this opportunity pass." He answered solemnly.

"Let me guess, you are her father aren't you?"

Alex just nodded surprised. Seems like the blonde kid was not an airhead like the rest of his family.

"How do you want me to help you, I'm just an eighteen year old senior high school student." Alec pointed out.

"Well, you are the only family she knows right now. I was hoping you could introduce me." Alex answered almost pleadingly.

Who was Alec to refuse a father of knowing his daughter?

"Of course, I would love to. Sapphire always wanted to meet her dad especially now with the pregnancy and all."

Alex was relieved to hear that, but also hungry for more information. "How is she?" He asked his heart pounding.

Alec heaved a sigh and answered. " She's a strong girl so she's holding up just fine. Her eyes lack the light though. They were always this unique blue but now they remain pale blue as if she is angry at the world. They always turned pale blue whenever she was angry so I guess I'm right about the angry part."

Alex was surprised. His daughter had inherited some of his traits.

Alec was confused when they pulled up at a local Italian restaurant.

"I thought we were going to the grocery store." Alec pointed out.

"She won't need those anymore because I'm taking her home. I have a strong feeling that she will agree." He paused looking over at a sad Alec. "Don't worry kid, I'm not taking her away from you. You are allowed to visit whenever you want to. Hell, you can even come with us." Alex concluded surprising Alec.

"Really?" Alex nodded. "Where do you permanently reside in and what country do you hail from?" He asked rapidly.

"Well I was born here in America but my home country is Greece." Alex answered amused by the boys reaction. "Now, let's buy Sapphire some food then head out." He said as they made their way to the counter.

As Alec was ordering, Andrew made his way to them. " Can you not drive fast, it's hard to keep up." He grumbled.

"Just order your food Andrew or we're leaving without you. Better yet, go home I'll take Alec home after we're done." He ordered Andrew who was already making his way out.

"I'm done Mr Galanis." Alec said.

"Let's go then, and please call me Alex. Mr Galanis is only for business."
