We stayed in the park for an hour, thinking about the offer made by Ahim. It happened all of a sudden, I was yet to accept that meeting Ahim was not a dream. A very vivid view of my future played in front of my eyes. 'Can I do it right?', I asked myself.
Prakash seemed to be worrying about the same thing. I was sure he would accept to help others if he had a chance like this, but the problem was wagering your life on this issue. It was quite a daring thing to go with it. Was I being selfish there? The clouds roared like an angry lion, everyone in the park left one by one except us.
Prakash stretched his hands as he stood up from the bench. "Let's go home."
We intentionally walked slow, "What will you do?", I asked him.
He forced a smile and said that he was not sure. "It would be nice if we decide to accept it."
"Woah! Mr Prakash, I always knew that you are into this."
That night I had a dream. We were going on a family trip, it was raining and it had become difficult to see the road with the heavy downpour. A truck had cut in out of nowhere, when dad tried not to collapse into the truck, the car had fallen into a huge pit by the roadside, we were all covered in blood. The rainwater was washing away all the blood, in a few minutes, the pit was filled with water, dyed in our blood colour. The most torturous thing was, no one noticed us even though numerous vehicles were passing by the road. I woke up that morning in sweats and panic.
"Prakash Amma! Come in! Oh, Prakash, it's been years. Make yourself home.", mom invited Prakash and his mother who had come to our place.
"I was making some snacks. Here, I packed some for you.", she handed me a box. "Sita, how have you been?"
"Good, aunty. How about you and uncle?"
"Your uncle misses you, visit him sometime when you are here."
Mom and aunty were chatting, I went to the kitchen to get some water. Prakash followed me, "It's a yes from my side."
'Did I propose him?', my heart skipped a beat before realising the context.
"That was my line. But it was abrupt." I gulped a cup of water, "I am ready to assist Ahim."
He offered water and "For good souls out there!", we clanked our cups.
