"So you won't leave with me because you don't know me, is that right?" He asked sitting on the side of her bed with a dangerously low voice
"Y..yes, that's right" Sun replied sitting up straight and trying to create distance between them.
"Are you scared of me?" he asked narrowing his eyes and moving to close the distance she created
"Huh?" Sun asked disoriented. Something about this man was oddly familiar but it didn't feel right, neither did it feel wrong.
"Do I scare you?" he said again this time he was really close to her face. Sun was slightly puzzled at his movements. Was he trying to intimidate her? Or was she supposed to be afraid? Nothing made sense so she decided to go with her guts.
She held her head firm and looked him straight in the eyes. He had really beautiful eyes they were so grey they almost looked silver and they shone so brightly. She remembered when he dashed into her room and called her by a name she assumed was hers. He seemed to care about her, so should she be scared?
"No" she finally said answering her own question rather than his but he didn't know that.
With that Ming drew his face away from hers.
"Good. Get ready. Or would you rather have it that I leave you here?"
"You wouldn't dare" she gasped.
"Try me" he said looking straight at her. Something about the way he looked at her assured that he wouldn't do it. But could she trust it? What did she really know about this man? And if he left her what will happen to her?
She then remembered that the doctor told her the person who could answer her questions was none other than this man. She looked out the window from her bed. The sky was clear and beautiful but it didn't eliminate her nervousness.
Reading her current posture Ming knew that even though she had lost her memories, she was still the same person. And she still behaved the same. Whenever she was scared or nervous she would find a window and stare at the sky, it somehow managed to calm her. The gentle breeze blew into the room.
Ming walked over to her bed and placed his hand on her hair and lightly stroked it.
She turned to face him and he smiled sweetly at her "You can trust me. I will protect you"
She couldn't explain why but his gesture calmed her and took away her fear. She felt like she had known him forever. She let out a weak smile and Ming stood straight and handed her clothes to her, "now get ready so we can leave"
she nodded slightly and he turned to walk out the door and give her privacy. As he reached for the door knob he heard her soft voice "Sir"
He spun on his heels and said sternly almost raising his voice, "don't call me sir."
Sun didn't know why but something about being called sir ticked him off. She wanted to know everything and she wanted to know why she was here.
"I'm s..sorry" she said facing down.
Ming had upset her. He didn't mean to. But he just couldn't bear to be called sir by her. It made him afraid.
He leaned on the door and closed his eyes, breathing slowly.
"Don't apologise" He said before opening his eyes. "Call me Mi.." he stopped abruptly. What if telling her his name triggered her memory? He wasn't sure. But if there was one thing he was sure of, it was that she must never remember.
But was lying to her the right way. No he wouldn't lie.
"Call me Ming"
"Ming. You said I can trust you and right now you're the only one who knows me. I have questions" she said calmly
"You'd be stupid if you didn't have questions. For now just get ready so we can leave this place" he said and turned to leave.
Alone in the room Sun Zu's thoughts ran wild. She touched her hair but was surprised to see she didn't have any bandages but it did hurt a lot. Just how long had she been unconscious and why did she fall?
And that man, Ming. Why was he so familiar?
Whether I trust him or not he's the only one who knows me and he's cute too.
She shook her head ferociously and stood up to get ready.
