"WHAT WERE YOU EVEN THERE FOR?!!" As soon as Ae Rin came out of the operation theatre, she lost her temper and glared at one of the interns who just caused a patient to die.
Everyone looked at her with wide eyes since they have seen her like that for the first time.
"I-I am so sorry! I didn't intend to do such a big mistake!" The intern stared at the floor and sobbed, not wanting to confront Ae Rin directly.
"Mistake? You call this a mistake? You could have called me if you couldn't do it! Why did you take action in the absence of any other doctor?! Do you realize that you just violated the rules of this hospital? Do you want to get kicked out?!" She threatened him.
On hearing the conclusion, the intern's hesitant eyes found its way to Ae Rin's eyes, and his lips were trembling.
"P-Please don't do that!! I beg you! I will try my best, please!" He pleaded and grabbed Ae Rin's hand.
Ae Rin gave him a final deadly glare before yanking his hand off of hers and leaving immediately.
Hopeless, the intern fell on the ground with tears rolling down his cheeks.
While Haru and Kyou, who were observing them were also in a similar situation as everyone there. They had always seen her with an angelic smile, being kind to everyone and the evil prankster that she is. Although they have heard that there was not a single dead patient who left their hospital from the moment she started working at that hospital and that she cared a lot about her patients but never did anyone think that she was THIS serious about it.
Everyone started whispering to each other while looking at the miserable intern on the ground.
He looked around him and realized they were talking about him. He covered his face and ran in a random direction to get rid of the others but bumped into someone and fell down.
He looked up to see Ae Rin standing there with a playful grin on her face. Everyone looked at her confusedly.
"THE PATIENT'S ALIVE!! I WAS JUST KIDDING!!" She laughed histerically.
"What the-?! What?!" Everyone including the intern looked at her completely shocked.
She bent down and helped the intern to get up and then explained everything with a smile. "Don't worry, you did the right thing. And because of you, the patient is alive now." She smiled.
She patted on his shoulder and gently stroke his hair, just like an elder sister.
The intern suddenly became shy and averted his gaze away from her. "T-Thanks...."
Everyone, including Haru and Kyou looked at them with eyes wide open.
"Oh, right. I have to go now. Have something important to do. Take care, okay?" She smiled again at him and left.
Suddenly, a number of the male doctors rushed up to him.
"How did her fingers feel like?"
"How did she smell?"
They showered him with weird questions.
"I-It was nothing! I m going now!" Too flustered to say anything, the intern quickly ran away.
"Uh...why were you guys asking such weird questions to him?" Kyou spoke up.
The question made them stop and look at him.
"You don't know?! She doesn't like to be friends with the male doctors!" One of them spoke.
"Um, but I just had a meal with her yesterday." Haru joined the conversation.
All of them gasped at his words.
"WHAT?! You had a meal with HER!? Don't tell me that you both are...!!"
"N-No, it's not like that! It was just a meal between colleagues!" He explained hurriedly.
"I smell something fishy here..." One of the doctors stared at him suspiciously.
"Nothing's fishy! No more discussion about this. You all aren't here to talk about her personal life." He rolled his eyes and sighed.
Everyone still gave him the suspicious look but scattered away eventually.
"I didn't know she was that popular among the doctors." Kyou spoke up after it was just two of them.
"That's because you don't talk much to your colleagues. Try that, you will learn lots about many things." Haru replied.
"I guess I will try that." Kyou shrugged.
