"Be careful ok?... No!!!...Kyou, run!!" A voice echoed in his mind and the sudden 'nightmare' woke Kyou up in the middle of the night.
He pulled the sheets off him and gasped for breath, his eyes wide open. He looked down at his shaking, sweaty hands.
"W-What was that? It felt like I was drowned into some kind of a black void...and that voice.. It's that girl again!" He thought to himself as he hugged his knees tightly, scared of everything that had just happened.
"What do these dreams mean? Why do I feel like this has to do something with me?!" He thought to himself with a mixed expression of frustration, sadness and disappointment on his face.
Suddenly, his gaze shifted to the window of his room, which was high enough for the snowy night view to be seen perfectly.
He sighed and got up from his bed to get some fresh air and cool down. He looked out of the window and saw the snow - filled parking lots and roads near his apartment.
"Hmm... it's so peaceful and chilly out here...I wonder if I could take a walk right now.." He said to himself as he turned around to look at the wall clock of his room. It said '2:30 am'.
"I guess I can go out for a walk. This area is not known for thefts or crimes, so I don't have to worry much..." He thought to himself as he grabbed his long coat and headed out.
He hummed as he walked around the empty and quiet neighborhood.
"Ah, it's so nice out here..." He smiled as he extended his hand for the snow to fall on his hand.
Suddenly, he heard two grown men talking to each other near some bushes.
" Huh? People are awake at this hour too?" He thought to himself as he approached the bushes and peeked out to see who they were.
"This is the house. Let's get in quietly and kill him."
"Yeah. And we need to completely make sure that he's dead. We will stab him and burn him down so there won't be chance for him to survive this time."
Kyou's face turned pale as he heard the conversation of the two men. It was only after a few seconds that he realised that something was very wrong with their attire.
They were wearing black masks and hoods carrying strange weapons, something that was straight out of a movie. They gave off a negative vibe.
Kyou's brain was signalling red light at this point. He wanted to run away, but he stopped when he noticed which house they were getting into.
His heart dropped. They approached his apartment's door and quickly broke it open.
He clasped a hand over his mouth so that he doesn't make any sound, and hid among the bushes. He thought to himself, "Who are they? Why do they want to kill me? I didn't do anything!!"
He could hear the faint angry voice of the two men.
"He's not here! Is this the wrong place?"
"No way! He was supposed to be here! Damn that Kyou!!"
"How do they know my name?!" He was startled and confused by hearing his name being called out.
After several minutes, Kyou peered through the bushes and saw the hooded men scrambling out of his apartment and disappearing into a nearby alley.
Relieved, he heaved a sigh and relaxed. After a few minutes, he hurriedly ran back to his apartment and closed the door behind him. He couldn't lock it since the lock was already broken by those men.
"Oh..my...god..." He gasped in shock when he saw the condition of his apartment. They ravaged his apartment and left no stone unturned. Everything in his apartment was broken into pieces, including his mobile phone.
"What am I gonna do now..." He fell to the ground hopelessly.
