Chapter 40 - The unbearable drama

"To put it simply... tomorrow's a weekend, I am just gonna call Kyou tomorrow and ask him to hang out with me at this coffee shop..and then I will just ditch him. Instead of me, that dumbas- I mean Miss Rosy..will be there at the coffee shop and I will be watching them from afar in case anything goes wrong." Ae Rin explained to Lily as they both sipped on black coffee in a coffee shop.

Lily worked as a prosecutor, who also became her first friend in London and also her best friend. Whenever she needed an advice or feels down, Lily would always love to hear her out. She was a cheerful and beautiful woman with long, silky black hair and a pair of blue eyes like the sky underneath her long lashes embedded on her mesmerising face.

And this time, Ae Rin really wanted someone to hear her out so she called Lily to meet her at a coffee shop.

She explained everything to her and she couldn't help but burst out laughing because of the mess she got herself into.

"Hahaha!! Seriously? When did you take up the work of a matchmaker?" Lily laughed heartily.

"I am serious, you know! You can't imagine how much I had sweared at her...in my mind, I mean. Because of her, I have to spend my precious weekend dealing with her love - sick life rather than taking rest! It's been so hard for me to take even a small break recently! Day and night! I worked my ass off just to get a day off work, but no! She just HAD to ruin it!!" Ae Rin complained.

In a rage of anger and frustration welling up inside, her hand balled up into a fist and she hit the table so hard that everyone else's eyes were on her because of the loud thump.

"Ae Rin! Stop it! People are looking." Lily whispered to her, embarrassed by the situation since everyone might be taking them for being two weirdos ruining the peacefulness of the shop.

By the time Ae Rin realised what she had done, a waiter approached them. "Ma'am, please calm down. You seem to be disturbing the other customers."

"Ah, sorry about that." Lily apologized and kicked Ae Rin's shin under the table, signalling her to apologize as well.

"Ow! Uh..yeah, so sorry about that." Ae Rin replied.

"Thank you for your cooperation, ma'am." The waiter bowed and went back.

"Take it easy. Everyone was giving us the 'mean - eyes' as if we are some sorta psychopaths!" Lily said. "So, back to the conversation. Do you think Kyui would fall for her right after that coffee shop meeting?"

"It's KYOU." Ae Rin corrected. "And, no, he will obviously not fall for her just within a single try. They have to keep meeting each other. First, they need to become friends and then it will proceed to something more...and which means....It may take my whole life to get them together.." She almost wanted to cry.

"Don't worry, everything will be alright." Lily smiled and squeezed her hands as if to reassure her again that everything will be alright although she felt the urge to laugh at her.

*Next day*

Ae Rin got ready early in the morning and texted Kyou: "Hi! Today's a day off so I was wondering if we could hang out at Twilight Coffeez? You don't mind my friend being there, do you?"

To which, Kyou replied almost immediately: "Sure, why not? I'll ask Haru to come with me, then! See you after 30 minutes? :)"

"Okay, I will be there." Ae Rin replied.

She informed Miss Rosy about the plan and as expected, she was thrilled to hear about it. Ae Rin repeated it again and again that she needed to be as natural as possible.

"Honestly, I really pity him. He has to spend his time with that love - sick woman..all by himself. He will suffer, that's for sure. But what am I gonna do with Haru? I guess I have to tell him everything. I don't think he would mind them being together and all." Ae Rin thought for a while before wearing dark shades, a black mask and a scarf (which is used regularly by people) to cover her face and heading out.

It didn't seem out of the ordinary since it was a common attire during winter.

Before Kyou could call Haru, Ae Rin informed him about everything and he understood it, even though it seemed funny to him. She asked him to dress up just like her; with the mask and everything, and sit with her on the same table which she would be taking.

She entered the coffee shop and took a table somewhere in one corner of the shop.

She ordered a cappuccino and waited for Haru.

As expected, he arrived at the coffee shop and spotted Ae Rin. She waved at him and he approached her.

"So... seriously...Are you sure this isn't some kind of a prank? 'Cause I really find it hard to believe." He sighed and settled down.

"As much I would love to think that it's JUST a prank, it's actually not. And I m stuck in this nonsense for god knows how long." She replied sadly.

As their conversation proceeded, they heard the door of the coffee shop crack open once again. Haru looked over his shoulder to see if it was Kyou.

"That's Kyou...and of course, HER.." Ae Rin slapped her forehead and sighed when she realised what an awfully stupid woman Miss Rosy was, to follow right behind him and enter the coffee shop like a 'carefree' stalker.

She was wearing a black mini skirt and a red top with heels. Her hair was tied into a ponytail. She obviously looked beautiful and her thin, slender legs attracted every man's attention in the coffee shop...well...except for Kyou.

"He must've obviously noticed that psycho behind him." She told Haru.

"Look, look. She's trying to initiate a conversation I think" He pointed at Miss Rosy, who was now trying to make a move while Kyou ignored her and looked around confusedly searching for Ae Rin.

He looked down at his phone and dialed someone's number....but no response.

"Huh? Was he trying to call you..?" Ae Rin turned to Haru doubtfully.

"He did call me but I had put my phone on vibration mode just in case." He smirked.

Ae Rin smirked back and they went back to looking at them.

Kyou sat on one of the tables, anxiously waiting for Ae Rin to arrive, when.....

"Hey, excuse me. Are you Kyou Agatsuma?" Miss Rosy approached him with a bright smile and took a seat near Kyou.

"Uh...yeah. Sorry, have we met somewhere?" He narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

"Well, not really. I am Ae Rin's friend, Rosy. She told that she would come here but I guess she left us here. Maybe something important came up." She answered smoothly, even though she was blushing the whole time.

"Yes, I guess so. Do you want to order something? Maybe we could just wait for my friend until then. He would be coming anytime soon." He replied with a half smile.

"Yeah, sure. Waiter!" She called out.

"Yes, ma'am? What would you like to order?" The waiter asked.

"One cappuccino and...?" She looked at Kyou, expecting him to order something for himself too.

"A cocktail, please." Kyou answered. The waiter took the order and left.

"You are quite handsome...What do you do for a living?" She flirtatiously stroke the top of his hand.

"WHAT? What the heck does she think she's doing!?" Ae Rin's jaw dropped and her eyes were wide open. Haru was equally amused, except that he was laughing.

Kyou didn't say anything, he just ignored her as he waited for the order.

"And even your voice...it's so beautiful and dreamy...." She took his silence as a yes and continued even when she almost sounded like a creep.

This time, Kyou seemed to have had enough of her. He yanked her hand off and stood up.

"Excuse me, sister. I just came here because Ae Rin had invited me. I have no intention to chat with you whatsoever."

The words came out a little louder than expected.

And then he was gone, leaving behind a completely astonished audience. Everyone stared at Rosy, including Ae Rin and Haru. There were a few people who were laughing at her.

"Oops." Ae Rin scoffed.
