"Take the bed. I'll sleep on the couch." Iris decided. She took the spare pillow given to her by her sister and walked towards the couch by the window in the room and set herself on it and shut her eyes.
"Huh? Didn't think you'd allow me to take the bed." Kyou spoke in a mocking tone as he placed his head on the pillow.
"Will you shut up or shall I sew your mouth?" Iris glared at him.
"Whatever." Kyou snickered and went back to sleep.
The night was peaceful and dark. The sound of the tree leaves clashing with each other when the cold breeze blew over them was the only thing that could be heard. The next morning they woke up with a new start and a new mission.
"Yes, you're doing alright- just a bit to the left and control your energy into the circle." Iris moved Ae Rin's arm to the left while she tried to create the purple portal which led to the other dimension, sweat dripping from her forehead all the way to her neck.
"That's it. That's all there is to know." Iris' grey eyes turned warmer and she looked genuinely happy for her sister's little achievement.
Ae Rin lowered her arms. "Didn't know it was this hard. I barely have any energy left..." She panted and patted the back of her neck with a towel.
"You learnt it faster than I thought. Just within a few days' time we can go to the other dimension." Iris smiled encouragingly.
"Guys...." Kyou came out of his room while looking at his phone worriedly with a frown on his face and his shoulders dropped.
"What happened? Why do you look so anxious?" Ae Rin kept the towel on the table and asked.
Kyou's troubled eyes shifted from his phone to her. "The doctors' chatroom is exploding because of you..."
"Just say what happened. Don't keep us in suspense." Iris' smile disappeared.
Kyou looked at Ae Rin who was patiently as well as anxiously expecting to hear what the matter was.
"S-Someone leaked a photo of you using your powers..."
"What?! But that's impossible! I've always made sure that no one was there when I used them outside!" Her eyes widened in disbelief and surprise.
"They saw you near the BlueWoods club. Apparently, the video was e - mailed to Dr. Lidia by an anonymous sender. The news about you is spreading like wildfire. Someone even posted the video on social media."
Shocked and worried, Ae Rin dropped on the couch and sighed, "This is bad..really bad..They might think I m a monster.."
"I think it's the best for us to leave for Arthalia as soon as possible. Everything is getting out of hand." Iris frowned.
Kyou crossed his arms and asked cautiously, "If no one was there, then who could have done it? Do you think the Crew of the Death has something to do with this?"
Ae Rin shook her head, "They wouldn't try such a silly thing. I can sense those common demons if they are anywhere within my radius-..."
"Unless it's Flare." Iris interrupted, her eyes wavering.
"But why would he do such a useless thing? I don't see why it will benefit him.." Ae Rin frowned.
"I think I know. You see, he wants to let everyone know that you're a demon so that you stop communicating with others. That will cause you to flee somewhere else with the least number of humans. It will make it easier for him to track down your aura before we go to Arthalia." Kyou explained.
Ae Rin stood up and started pacing back and forth in the room anxiously. She was clearly alarmed about the danger they were going to face.
"We need to go to Arthalia. Tonight. Start packing whatever you think is important and let's head out within a couple of hours. We absolutely can't waste anymore time." Ae Rin instructed them and they nodded.
"Let's hope that it's safe in the other dimension. I will take some weapons with me just in case we're attacked." Iris said before leaving the living room and heading into her room.
Kyou and Ae Rin headed into their rooms and started packing all the essentials they would be needing.
After she packed all her clothes, she walked towards her wardrobe and stood on a chair, reaching out for the red, old, rusty chained box on the top of the wardrobe.
She took it out and placed it on the ground. At first instance, it looks like a cliché movie item but something stood out in it when looked closer. It wasn't made up of metal. It was made up of blood. It sounds quite crazy at first, but the structure of the box is actually made up of dried, sticky blood with a black gem at the centre.
Ae Rin bit her thumb, which drew blood from the bite on the skin. She drew a pattern on the box using the blood, and then she waited.
Creeaakk!
The box slowly opened to reveal a glimmering crimson red sword with the same black gem on its handle and the box had already disappeared.
"Oh, I missed having you in my hand." Ae Rin smiled.
"Sister, are you ready?" Iris' voice called out from the living room.
She snapped back to reality and replied, "Ah, yes! I m coming!"
She immediately changed the form of the sword into a ring and wore it as she headed to the living with her small bag.
"Are you guys ready?" She smiled at Kyou and Iris who were carrying their bags with them, all ready to go.
"Always ready." Kyou smiled with determination.
"Then let's go!"
