Chapter 36 - Lie

"Mmhhm...m-my head...." Kyou grimaced and slowly opened his eyes.

Staring back at him was a panicking Ae Rin and a few other curious eyes peeking through the small glass window of the door.

"Why did you suddenly black out? What happened?" She rushed to his side and asked worriedly.

"It was just-...." He stopped abruptly, a small gasp escaping his mouth as the memory of the voice flooded his mind.

His unsteady eyes looked up at the confused and worried Ae Rin.

"What happened? At least say something!" She demanded anxiously.

"I-It wasn't really anything. I just didn't take care of myself well these days so it may have affected my body." He replied with a wry smile, trying his best to get her convinced.

Ae Rin stared at him for a moment as if she had caught him lying but decided to let it go.

"Fine, whatever. Try not to skip meals next time. Just take some rest now. I'll get going, bye!" She smiled at him and waved him goodbye before leaving the room.

Kyou sighed in relief and his smile faded into worry and anxiety.

"What the hell is going on here?! First, it was that girl in my dreams and now, it's some...weird voice. Am I even supposed to believe what it said to me about her? Oh god, this is so crazy!!" He thought to himself as he layed back on the bed with frustration covering his face and drifted back to sleep.

*Sometime later*

"Nnnghh.....How much time did I slee- huh? What is she doing here?" Kyou thought to himself when he saw Ae Rin resting her head on the side of the bed.

He gazed at her meaningfully and a smile cracked on his face, " So she's been here the whole time, huh?"

"You are awake. Had a good sleep?" She suddenly opened her eyes and stared at him with a smile.

Kyou turned his head away suddenly as if he got caught staring at her.

"Uh, y-yeah. I did. What about you? How's everything going on?"

"Don't worry, I have everything under control. After all, your friend is filling up your space." She reassured him.

"Oh, that's great. By the way, where is he right now?" He asked curiously.

"He couldn't come visit you because I had asked him to do some work. He wanted to come but because of the work load, he still didn't get time." She sighed.

"It must be hard for him. I will try to get back as soon as I can get a hold of myself." He replied.

"Alright. I have to go now, take care." She smiled once again before walking towards the door.

She halted and turned around with a serious expression and piercing sharp eyes, "I know you're lying and I WILL find out why."
