Gordans premonitions were becoming rather accurate lately, but not in a good way. He almost tried to think back to when the problem had started but gave up almost instantly, finding out were a specific problem had formed in his life was like finding a piece of straw in a pile of needles.
=sigh=
"This is not going to end well, is it?"
Gordan put his head in his hand and let out another sigh, maybe he should have left the core so they would have no choice but to see what had happened.
Some people in the crowd were already muttering things along the lines of what Gordan had suspected. 'where did that stranger with the weirdly bad makeup job go' stuff like that.
Some of the people however were rather hesitant to get on the bad side of the person that they had just witnessed take out multiple adults without even getting near them.
"What is going on here? Were are the guards? What's that noise?"
Tha th statement made Gordans blood run cold. He had been prepared for persecution becouse he seemed alittle suspicious but now an idea came to his mind that he had forgoten to take into account with all of the things that had happened.
It was entirely possible that the mage's master who had sent him to take out the village was most likely near by and had been somewhat monitored the situation.
Gordan closed his eyes for a moment and just listened. There was a low grumbling under the earth, this wasn't something he had felt before, what was it? He wasn't pleased about how the situation was progressing, he wondered how the person who had called out had heard the noise since it was so faint, but looking up he saw how that could be. The person was wearing a rather thick cloak and was obviously trying to rile up the crowd, another of the masters pawns? That was highly possible but why do things so indirectly?
Up until now they had been rather straight forward but he guessed that he had decided to do things alittle differently since they had taken out one of his people, well that was Gordan's guess on what had happened.
Gordan straightened up and walked up to were the cloaked figure was darting between people spreading fear. 'The master is coming for us, he will kill us all!"
Gordan saw a smile on the persons face which annoyed him, he saw the look on the persons face like they were dealing with children. Reaching out his hand Gordan grabbed the figures head and pulled them out of the crowd. Turning his hand toward himself he looked at the figure which was scrambling to get away from his hand.
Gordan turned toward Leech and his mother indicating the person.
"Do you recognize this person?"
Using his other hand he pulled back the hood so that they could see the face more clearly. it was a small person that resembled a child, but gave off the air of an ancient being, it was a hybrid fairy. Hybrid fairy's were a mix of fairy and human, they always kept a rather youthful appearance and had the abilities of both human, and fairy to an extent. Though the creation of these abominations as they were called was one of the fifteen forbidden spells they were extremely useful for many reasons such as...
Coming back to himself Gordan cut off the stream of information that had come into his head concerning the species, he saw that both of the people standing in front of him were looking at the individual oddly.
"So do you know this one or not?"
Gordan had repeated himself since they both seemed like they had zoned out staring at the hybrid in his hand, thankfully that brought them back and Leech's mom spoke up.
"No I've never seen a person like her."
Gordan raised an eyebrow and turned the hybrids head toward his own.
"So you dont know her then, I can assume that means that she could be responsible for all of the commotion going on right know right?
Gordan could feel the corners of his mouth going up. Now that he had a proper scapegoat he didn't feel as stressed anymore. He didnt need anymore stress in his life right now, after all he was supposed to be living peacefully for the next five years according to the random figure that had sent him here in the first place.
Thinking about some of the things that had happened he almost had to wonder if the figure was alittle off in the head.
His start of a smile made the hybrid stop struggling and look at him calmly before opening and closing its mouth as if wondering weather or not to speak.
Noticing Gordans eyes met hers and he held her gaze unblinking. Eventually she turned her eyes away from his stair, many people found Gordans stair. to be uncomfortable and never kept his gaze for long, the hybrid was no exception to this, but something about the beginnings of a smile that he had on his face reminded her of a story that someone had told her long ago, so long ago that she didnt remember who.
She didnt remember much about the story either but the one thing that stuck with her was one line.
"And remember child, unless you want to die slowly and painfully never make them your enemy."
She knew that the story had been talking about something quite different but for what ever reason the start of a smile had reminded her of that story.
"What do you want with me?"
The hybrid spoke to Gordan but her eyes were directed toward Leech and his mother since she didnt want to look directly at him anymore.
=sigh=
"I dont want anything with you, after all this situation isn't my problem to begin with. Those two however have plenty to do with it.
The pointed in the other twos direction and then went back to talking.
"So, when is it getting here."
The hybrid froze up and slowly turned her face toward his again, almost impulsively, she looked for anything that might betray what he was thinking, how much of the plan did he know? Suddenly Gordan lowered her to the ground and handed her over to Leech's mother.
"Here, you can deal with her as you see fit, all you need to know is she is connected with that mage from earlier and that something big is heading this way."
Leech's mom nodded her head and started to drag the hybrid off with Leech fallowing close behind. As for Gordan he started to eat again, he knew that he shouldn't eat to much in terms of solid foods after not eating for a week but seriously, he needed to get something in his system.
He looked around at the crowd which was still quite riled up, taking another bite he sat down to watch the scene play out.
Over his shoulder he felt something like a shadow slowly start to surround him, and he became tired again. Looking down at the ground next to him he yawned and laid his head on the ground letting himself fall into sleep. He knew that he needed to stay awake but he couldn't keep his eyes open any longer, and slowly the darkness overtook his senses.
