Finally got access back, sorry about that, what a hassle that was.

Elena was slowly waking up, slightly sluggish from being woken.
"Get a shower then hurry up and get downstairs, you could at least look semi-decent when we give out our presents." Ronan was straight to the point.
"Okay." Elena was slow to answer before dragging her body towards the bathroom, sighing along the way.
Ronan went back downstairs, put the kettle on and a teabag into a cup.
Elena doesn't drink tea or coffee but Ronan enjoys one every now and then, mostly when he's at home, otherwise, he would be spending all his time doing several other things, like coding or his coursework.
Ronan took his time sipping his tea, his sister coming down from a shower midway through.
They turned on the T.V and waited for their mother to wake up.
They didn't hear her wake up, but they did hear her walking down the stairs.
"Morning." Ronan was the first one to greet there mother, followed by Elena.
"Morning." Alex replied.
"Did she do anything this time? or is it like all the other times?" Alex asked.
"Of course, she helps all the time." Ronan answered.
"Are you sure? I've been up since before you two so I know that Elena never puts up the banners and balloons." Alex had known all along that Ronan did everything and gave Elena half the credit, he was always like this with Elena, every time Ronan would get something he would give half to Elena when he got pocket money he would give half away even though Elena got the same amount as him.
"Fine, I didn't do anything, it was all Ronan like usual." Elena didn't want Ronan to lie to there mother anymore, besides it wasn't like Elena did anything and since their mother knew it didn't matter.
After that, those two started with the small talk while I went upstairs to get the gifts for mother.
After doing a little clean up of my bedroom and picking up my bag with the gifts in I walked downstairs.
"You got me presents? I thought I told you to stop getting me things, I don't need them and you need the money more, you work several part-time jobs just for money to get by." Alex was concerned with why Ronan got her presents, they had a 15 minutes talk last time about how she didn't want them anymore, she would rather have Ronan saving the money and spending it on himself instead of buying useless items.
"I've made enough money and I'm not doing those jobs anymore, I work in business part-time to save for the money and I make enough to buy my mother presents for your birthday." Ronan told a half-lie, he was technically working for his money, just harder and for much more money.
"Fine, but never again, I don't want presents next year." Alex didn't want to get mad at Ronan on her birthday.
"Okay, anyway, I want to take us out for your birthday, it doesn't have to be today, but sometime within the next week or so." Ronan had made up his mind to stay a bit longer, enough to take them out for a meal.
"Fine, but not next year." Alex gave in to Ronan when she saw the determination in his eyes.
"Oh yeah, what's going on with your eyes? They're a different colour from last time." Alex had finally noticed Ronan golden eyes.
"Just contact lenses, makes me feel a little more self-confident." Ronan didn't mention the system and took out his contact lens in his right eye since the left one was permanent.
"Whatever makes you happy." Alex didn't push the subject and Ronan put his contact lens back in.
Ronan opened his bag and took our several wrapped items, he gave half to his mother and the other half to his sister.
"These are for you and sister."
"Are you sure? there are 5 pieces each." Some were clothes while others were jewellery.
Alex opened up her gifts first, opening up a plain red dress.
"Come on Ronan, when am I ever going to use a red dress?" Alex was somewhat surprised.
"Well mother, I want you to be happy and although you look very happy on the outside I know that you aren't very happy inside, ever since dad left so I think you should go date, just at your own pace though, I don't want you to rush into something because of what I said." Ronan wanted his family to be happy and although his mother tried she wasn't very happy inside, just like Ronan had pointed out.
Alex didn't say anything and continued opening up presents, they consisted of 2 pairs of amethyst earrings, a jade necklace and a black dress.
Elena opened up her items, although not as fancy still items she liked.
A white blouse, a light blue cardigan and a pair of red running shoes, paired with a garnet necklace and an onyx bracelet.
"Thank you." After they both finished opening the presents they thanked Ronan before Elena headed to the kitchen to bake the cake.
"Want a hand." As always Alex would ask if she wanted a hand.
"I've been doing this for years, I know how to make a cake." Elena responded.
Alex and Ronan had a small chat about how he was doing on campus, he even showed Alex his app although he didn't tell her that he made it, he wanted to wait until it at least had some T.V. advertisements and besides that he was also giving money to his sister for her to spend on her mother and herself.
