Chapter 14 - MONTAGE RANCH HOTEL & RESORT (1)

Montage Ranch Hotel & Resort is located at one of the main cities of ***** country. It used to be a historical building that was turned into 5-star hotel. It has been around for almost a century and is known for its pure and fine white sand, blue seawater, and outstanding view.

The twins discovered it when they are away from one of their endeavors.

They are enchanted with the place as well as with the deep history it contain thus hey have decided to invest in it.

It wasn't that easy of course since they needed an ample amount of money. After all it is considered to be a historical heritage and a multi-million dollar business so they have to ask Julian to search for a way of purchasing a share.

Julian did a thorough investigation and was impressed by the said property but not by its owner. During that time, 60% is owned by the current owner while 40% is owned by its shareholders.

The owner lost a great some of money due to wrong investment causing him to be indebted at the bank. To pay for it he decided to sell 40% of his share on an auction, much to his family's disappointment and delight of many businessmen.

To say that the auction is intense is an understatement. Representatives of Business tycoons, millionaires, and billionaires from all over the globe came with the goal of obtaining some share.

The share is divided into 3 to give a chance to the buyers but that is simply putting it nicely, the owner just wants to make sure he still get to own majority of the shares.

The share is divided 10:10:20 percent, besides the price of obtaining the whole 40% of the share is hefty even for such powerful figures who attended it.

Bidding for the first 10% started at a price of a hundred million, which was eventually bought by Jaden for a price of a hundred and fifty eight million. The second 10% started at the same price as the first but was bought by Jake for two hundred million.

The 20% came and hell breaks loose. Jaden and Jake can no longer participate to bid as there is a rule in which those who already bought a share can't participate for the next bidding thus only those who have net worth below five hundred million participated in the bidding for the two 10% share.

Those considered to be really wealthy didn't bid until the 20% share. Julian participated in this one and the price started at a two hundred fifty million that reached an alarming price of six hundred million which is considered as too much already, but Julian is aware of the government's plan to rehabilitate this part of the city to preserve the sea creatures and resources as well as to create an environmentally friendly place which is unbeknownst to the rest of those who attended the said auction thus he has no qualms of bidding higher than that of the practical price of the share for many hotels and resorts will be shut down by then and the resort that they are fighting now will be among the few that will remain and if his prediction is correct will be among the only three resorts left.

"Eight hundred million..." Julian bid making him secure the 20% share. Many of those present think of him as a fool but only if they know the information he knows they would have been willing to fight him with a higher price. Too bad they are as clueless as a child.

Having a plan of owning the resort the three of them tried to buy some more shares from the shareholders and managed to buy another 10% and with further negotiation, the owner agreed on selling another 5% of his share to them thus they now own a total of 55% of the shares.

Jin and Jazz took a night flight to the city and arrived late in the evening, giving them enough time to rest.

It's 2 pm when they reached the hotel which is buzzing with many tourists as it is summertime in the country. They own a vacation house in the said city so there is no need for them to stay at the hotel.

A doorman immediately came forward and greeted them, he opened the passenger side door and was about to go open the driver's side door when Jin beats him with it. Jin handed the keys to the Valet who came forward.

The lobby's air has a fresh floral scent mixed with the breeze that's coming from the seashore.

"Not bad..." Jazz lamented after scanning through the lobby it seems flawless for some, but for her, it can still be improved.

Jin, on the other hand, seemed to disapprove of some of the paintings on display and saw some furniture that needed to be replaced.

They look around the place to look for their escort but find none which is odd as they were assured by the twins that they have already updated the former owner of their arrival since yesterday and we're told that someone will meet them at the lobby.

"Are we early or our escort just isn't taking his or her job seriously?" Jazz remarked while observing the busy lobby.

"He or she might just be a bit busy, I mean with the number of guest right now it's a miracle that we still have a place to lounge around." Jin answered while checking the rest of the décor.

They still have an hour to spare so they decided to wait. To pass time they went over their presentation once again, in the middle of their review they felt a sudden tension in the lobby making the two of them alert.

Going through the exit door seemed to be an important guest as there are number of guards surrounding him. Their position can't give them a proper look at the said individual but based on its movement and aura it is someone definitely with wealth and power.

The felt a little familiarity with the said presence, but they can't be sure unless they can clearly see who it is. As they don't feel any threat coming off from that individual and since they have another problem right now they decided to ignore him.

"This is taking a bit long we've been here for almost twenty minutes already. I think we better ask where the meeting room is with the receptionist." Jazz huffed and pulled Jin to join the line of tourists.

There are three people working on the reception desk. Two dealing with those who are checking in and one to those checking out.

After 10 minutes it is finally their turn.

"Good afternoon, welcome to Montage Ranch Hotel & Resort. How may I assist you?" The receptionist politely and warmly greeted them.

"Good afternoon..." Jazz read her name tag.

"...Kate. We are here to attend the hotel's business meeting that is scheduled at 3 pm, so can you please tell or lead us to the room where it will be held?"

This makes Kate and the other two receptionists be a bit skeptical, for if they are part of the said meeting there is no need for them to visit the front desk, they could just immediately go towards the conference room or someone should have been assigned to come and meet them at the lobby, if they are new in the area, and escort them.

Kate herself doesn't know which room the meeting will be held so she decided to call their front manager for help but the other receptionist whose name is Alice stops her.

"Why?" She whispered.

"Are you stupid?" Alice hissed at her and pulled her a distance away from the desk. This scene makes Jazz raised her eyebrows.

"Do you really think they are part of the meeting? Look at them they are just a bunch of wannabe rich ladies." Alice whispered but Jazz and Jin was still able to know what she said by reading her lips.

Alice is Kate's senior and has been working at the hotel far longer than her so she didn't dare to rebut her.

She looked towards Jazz and Jin. Though they are on casual formal wear they indeed look young. Most probably in their early twenties but there is just something about them that makes her hesitate? True they look young but the feeling she is getting from them isn't that simple.

Jazz is wearing a beige long sleeve top tuck in with a brown colored high waist palazzo pants. Her 4 inch pump makes her look taller.

Jin, on the other hand, chooses to go casual formal with a cool gray shirt topped with a moss green one-button blazer. She paired this with black skinny trousers and unlike Jazz, she opted for something more comfortable footwear, a gray oxford shoe.

Alice thought that they look very plain and as she is well adept with branded things, the things that they are wearing doesn't seem to be something from those luxury brand and so she assumes that they must be some kind of wannabes who are nothing but trouble, little did she know that this judgment of hers will bring her imminent doom.

Alice told Kate to switch places with her in which the later reluctantly agreed for she knows how rude can Alice be sometimes, well oftentimes.

"I'm sorry but we don't know what you're asking about and besides what you're asking is private information in which we are not allowed to divulge at any cost to strangers. Can we help you with anything else?" Alice asked them though her tone may sound polite Jazz and Jin can clearly hear the underlying hint of annoyance in her tone.

"No, as I said we are here for the meeting---"

"Look if you two have no reservation or isn't going to check in kindly just leave okay or else I would have to ask the guards to escort you out forcibly if they must." Alice told Jazz and Jin then give them a condensing look clearly annoyed this time.

"Trying hard socialites..." They heard her murmur before calling out the person behind completely casting them aside.
