Chapter 18 - 18 So Much For Peace And Quiet

"Well I guess you don't need to read that much now."The prince said. Genevive looked at him with a questioning look and he seemed to get it.

"People say I'm pretty good at almost everything. So the kingdom's history is quite easy to explain. I could explain it to you so you won't tire your eyes much" He continued.

'Tsk so arrogant. Does he really want to explain this out of kindness or out of boredom? Nevertheless, He does have a point. So much for my quiet time. But furthermore, reading all day really did tire her eyes so maybe, listening to his explanations would also be good. '

"You'd do that your highness?"

"Mm I just said I would didn't I" The prince answered lazily. Does he really like to be sarcastic? He is really rude.

'Okay now I think it's out of boredom. Pretty sure about it..' Then the Prince started talking about the history of the kingdom.

"Our kingdom started when-..."

The prince was really getting bored so he thought maybe talking to the girl would be better. He didn't know why he thought of that but he actually wanted to talk to her. Even when he was reading, he secretly took glances at Genevive. She was reading intently and her eyes were so focused on the books. Her eyes, He just got to notice how beautiful those eyes were, a beautiful combination of sky blue and dark blue. It was like a rare crystal, a gem. By reading and stealing glances at Genevive, he could properly admire her beauty more. He studied her face from her forehead, brows, eyelashes, cheeks, Nose and lips. He couldn't find anyway to explain it. They were simply, perfect. Or so he really couldn't find the perfect word yet. Never in his entire lifetime had he seen such a beauty.

He had seen a lot of beautiful women in this kingdom given that he is a prince, but this girl. Even from when he first saw her, he had to admit that the girl was really beautiful.

Genevive had a lot of questions it was like she barely even knew how things work here. But looking at those beautiful shining bright eyes, he knew he should answer and he wanted to answer. Because each time he answered the questions, those eyes show a great emotion they turn bright. Although her facial expression didn't really show great curiousity in it, in her eyes, he could see it very clearly.

Genevive at first was bored by listening to the prince, but suddenly the story became interesting to her and she got so interested that she didn't give a damn of who was talking to her. She showed a lot of interest in her eyes but she kept restraining herself from smiling brightly to avoid being suspected.

When the story was only in the middle, the prince's butler came to the prince and whispered in his ear. The prince nodded solemnly but in his eyes he showed a bit of reluctance.

"Lady Genevive, I'm sorry but it's time for me to return to the palace." He said

Genevive also felt a bit of reluctance she really wanted to know more.

"It's okay your highness. Have a safe trip" She smiled politely.

"I will return tomorrow to tell you the rest of the story Lady Genevive. Thank you" The prince took her hand and kissed the back of it.

'Ewww... Really, he doesn't really have to do that. It's so.... Old school' Genevive thought.

Then the prince left.

The prince left at four in the afternoon so she still had time for herself. She called on Sarah the head maid.

"Yes Miss. How may I be of service?" Sarah bowed to her like really low, far from the normal servants should bow to other people.

The servants had known Lady Genevive's attitude since a long tome ago. She wanted all of the servants to bow really low infront of her if she meets with the prince because that way, she felt really proud of herself. She thought just because she was the prince's fiancé, she should be treated high up to the heavens.

"Please, you don't need to bow so low to me... Anymore..." She came to Sarah and help her straighten up. Of course by this, Sarah and the other servants who were walking around were stunned.

"From now on, please remind everyone not to bow so low infront of me anymore. It makes me feel, uncomfortable. And oh, can you please bring Jean with us. I want to go to the Kitchen." And by those words, everyone were seriously dumbfounded. It was as if the heavens splitted into two!

"Ah.. Uhm. Yes Miss... Why-why do you want yo go to the kitchen?" Sarah asked the little miss.

"I want to cook something" She smiled at Sarah the brightest smile. And went to the kitchen in an unhurried pace.

"Dan, Plea-please bring miss Jean here, lady Genevive asked For her." Sarah stammered the words.

"Right away!" Dan answered.

Jean came to where Dan had told her to come.

She was cleaning the lady Genevive's room at the time when Dan came and said that the little miss wanted to see her. She rushed to the place only to find the head maid waiting for her but no sign of the little miss.

"Sister Sarah, you should have told me that it was only you who wanted to see me. I was cleaning the little miss' room and I had to-"

The words got stuck on Jean's throat as she looked at a certain direction.

Sarah was still in a daze and it seemed like she couldn't wake up from a dream. Only when she heard Jean's voice did she came back to her senses a little.

"Wh-what is the little miss doing in there?" Jean looked at Sarah questioningly. 'Did sister Sarah told the young miss to cook? No that can't be it. She clearly doesn't know about this.'

"Jean! Sarah! What are you waiting there for, please help me with this." Genevive came outside the kitchen and went to them pulled both their hands to get them inside.

"I'm making some macaroons, and the traditional french wedding cake (she practiced baking for years in her old world in order to make it). Can you please help me? I asked the cooks to continue their work and not bother with me. So I can do things myself. Don't worry I know what I'm doing".. She flashed a bright smile at them and Sarah and Jean came back to reality.

The whole two hours, they worked together and the result was overwhelming. The cake tasted great and so did the macaroons.

The cooks really didn't have anything else to do so they chose to follow what the little miss was making. It was their first time seing such methods of cooking. But really the atmosphere was quite pleasing. Two whole hours and everyone made a lot of macaroons. Enough to feed everyone.

"Say we all made quite a lot, so I suggest we all have a feast today." Genevive said aloud while smiling brightly.

"Yes miss will we invite the princes?" Sarah asked.

"What? NO! I-I mean, The prince just left and anyway I don't want to hang out with nobles today. I meant we should have a feast like me and all of you."

"Young miss I don't think it's a good idea" Sarah was the one who spoke.

"Why not?"

"Because we are servants, we should be eating separately with nobles, and eat different food that's a rule."

"I know, but with all of these food, can I eat them by myself? And besides, no else will see us."

Everyone cheered at what she said only Jean and Sarah remained quiet.
