Chapter 24 - 24 Confession

The following days, Prince George came every afternoon to challenge Genevive. Which always resulted him losing again and again... And its been two weeks and four days since Genevive's father left.

"Oh, now what Prince George. I've already won six times in a row today.. Don't you think it's already enough?" Genevive said as she looked down at the prince who was still climbing up.

"No! It's Not!" Prince George answered.

Suddenly an unexpected familiar voice spoke from below.

"What are you guys up to?"

Both of them looked down only to find prince Gabriel standing and staring up at them.

Both of them wore flustered faces but both immediately recovered on time.. If they didn't both of them would fall. And being 9ft. above the ground is not something to be messed with. Genevive spoke first.

"Well, I guess that settles it then. Prince George, What do you say we call it a day?" She jumped down from the tree and did a summersault, landed quite nicely.

Both guys who saw it thought they were dreaming. Even Prince Gabriel couldn't jump from such a height at such a young age. Genevive smirked upon seing their dark faces.

'heh, looks like they don't see that everyday.. Oh yeah right they Don't see that everyday..'

'How did she do that?'

After a few moments both prince recovered and prince George started to climb down. A few moments passed and the prince was already down.

"So what were you two doing up there?" Gabriel asked.

"Oh well, Prince George asked me to play with him." Genevive answered.

"And by that "Game" you mean climbing up a tall tree?" Prince Gabriel said mockingly.

"Well obviously yes." Genevive answered sarcastically. And rolled her eyes.

Prince Gabriel didn't expect the girl to act like that.. But instead of getting angry, he actually was more intrigued and interested on how that little curious, nice girl turned into this little sarcastic little badass.

"So how was the game?" He asked.

"Prince George lost six times.." Genevive said which made the princes' face turn dark.. Prince Gabriel then turned to his twin brother.

"George... You actually lost to Lady Genevive?" Prince Gabriel tried to hold his laughter but his giggles came out of his mouth.

With that question, Prince George couldn't hold it in anymore. He exploded!

"So what I'm not like you who can easily win against any challenge. I can't compare to your fighting prowess, I can't compare to you when were doing a lot of things. You look at me like I've always won challenges, well guess what. I don't! Because your the one who has the eyes of the people. Your the one who they hailed the greatest while I'm just your twin brother who tries hard to do things perfectly. But my best can't even be compared to you even in the simplest things!" After saying that Prince George turned and left them both dumbfounded. Prince George went to the direction of the Garden.

"Ge-George.." Prince Gabriel stammered. He never expected his brother to feel something like that... Yes they were compared by other people but he always heard that his brother was the best and he was just trying to be the same as his brother.

Genevive turned to prince Gabriel. "Your highness, did that just really happen?" Surprise and concern was seen on the little lady's face.

Prince Gabriel nodded his head then lowered it.

"Then .. Then what are you going to do?"Genevive asked she didn't dare say we because she knew it wasn't her place to say anything.

"I never thought my brother had that hard feeling for me.. I'm his older brother and I can't even earn a single smile from him. What a fool.. What am I going to do. I-I don't know.." Gabriel felt regret on not being a great older brother to his twin. He felt an odd sense of pain in his chest and it was as if it tightened..

Now Genevive never knew how it felt to have a sibling. But as a grown woman, she knew that she had to comfort these kids. And they're brothers afterall and she believed that siblings need to get along with each other even if they have different personalities. It's really odd though. Children usually don't feel like that because children often think about playing as if nothing is gonna stop them from taking over the world. But it's really odd how they felt like that.. And to think, they are still children! Yeah ok. maybe children do get hurt a lot easier..

"I think we should give him a little time to himself.. After he calms down, I want to talk to him. Then you better expalain your side to your brother. Don't worry, your brother will understand. I'm sure of it... Your Highness" Genevive said as she placed her hand on his shoulder and had a gentle look on her face and it made the prince's stone heart waver.

"Thank you" was all the prince could say. He felt speechless upon seing that gentle look on her beautiful face. The concern that her eyes showed. For a moment he could feel his stone heart beating fast that he had to retrack his gaze upon the girl.

'Tch. These twin brothers clearly have a misunderstanding with each other. They can't even talk to each other properly.. Haist'

In the Garden it was already late in the afternoon, the sun started to set and the surrounding was getting darker. Prince George was standing on a cobblestone bridge whilst staring at the little lake that was in the garden.

"Now he'll think that I'm childish for having such hard feelings for him just for that childish reason... What a shame.. Now I really can't face him out of embarrassment.." He laughed dryly at himself while looking at his reflection on the lake..

"Ahh.. George, you're such a fool. Thinking your twin brother will try to hold back his laughter at you. You'd be a laughingstock.."

"What if he doesn't really think what you thought of him." A beautiful voice was heard but prince George knew who it was..

"How would you be so sure about that..?" He said nonchalantly.

"Maybe I'm not sure, maybe I am. The point is it doesn't really matter." Genevive answered and slowly went beside the prince.

"How does that 'not matter'?. Maybe because it's easy for you to say because you don't have a sibling!"

"I do.. Did, have a sibling. An older one. But she didn't survive long.." Genevive said gloomily.

"Sorry.. I didn't know..." There was silence for a few minutes." But it's just infuriating! Having a twin brother who people look up to more. Its like comparing a piece of rock and a diamond.. *sigh.. I know you think I'm childish for acting this way.." He was about to leave not wanting to embarrass himself more..

"No.. It's not childish at all." Genevive said facing the prince with a smile on her face. It was a Genuine smile. Her eyes showed a 'cheer up' expression and that made prince George stunned on the spot...
