As an eight year old girl, she wasn't supposed to be as skilled as she played earlier. Only a few people can do what she just did. And those were the greatest children. The Royal Princes of Fiero, Prince Gabriel and Prince George, Lord Sander, son of the Duke Ascart, and Lady Laura, the daughter of the Duke Hunt.
How could the prince not notice such a blatant lie? He heard it with his own ears and saw it with his own eyes. She was playing that piano and wrote a piece of music. Yet she claimed she was only playing?
When Genevive apologized, Prince George was shocked and stunned at what he saw. She was bowing to him and asked for apology?? The last time she did something nice was when he and his brother watched over her when she fell. That was thanking them and now, to apologize? She must be kidding right?
He wasn't dreaming was he? He just sat there not daring to move and his eyes were almost bulging out his sockets. His face clearly looked shocked.
Genevive who stayed in that position sensed that there was no movement from the boy who was infront of her so she decided to bow lower and apologize again.
Of course with those movements Genevive just did Prince George was surprised. He thought that she would stand straight again but she did the exact opposite.
Still he chose not to let the girl come any lower. She was the Duke's daughter! For Pete's sake if one were to see this, the prince might be rumored badly again.
"Don't bow any lower.. Stand up Lady Genevive." Even if the prince was cold, he still has a heart he wasn't really That heartless.
Genevive stood up and showed a calm demeanor which stunned the prince again and again. He expected tears on the corners of her eyes and then wail infront of him nothing really prepared him for this.
"Thank you your highness.." Genevive said calmly.
*Nods. "You were playing a new music piece earlier, Did you make it?" The prince asked indifferently though he already knew.
"Why? Did that piece exceed any of your expectations of me?.. Your highness?" Genevive said. She said the sarcasm on that remark was pretty obvious.
She heard that the prince was a cold hearted almost heartless little devil. Even more heartless than the first prince so since he's that heartless, being sarcastic shouldn't matter.
The prince never did expect to hear such words from the lady. But he thought she was challenging him so he chose to roll with it. An evil smirk appeared on his handsome face which made him seductive even for a boy his age.
"As a matter of fact, it did. I always heard you were so untalented in music and I considered you dumb anyway. So how did a dumb person like you do that?"
Genevive was stunned at the sight of that evil smirk. She thought to herself how on earth did such a young boy ever emmit such an aura? If ever she was still on earth..
Still Genevive remained unaffected by the insult.
"It's quite simple, I studied without anyone noticing." Yet another sarcastic reply.
"Well if your so proud of it why don't we challenge each other?" That sarcastic reply made the prince's blood boil. No one ever dared to reply sarcastically to him before except his brother. Or was it the other way around...◐.̃◐
"Why not" Genevive said challenging the prince back.
"Don't even bother playing the piano let's bet on something else besides music. I don't want to bully a girl" The prince said. He was intrigued by how the dumb girl before had changed. She was clearly so dumb that she didn't know how to play four notes in the violin or even in the piano.
"Well then, I have an idea." Genevive said. Even if she was a grown woman inside she still missed a lot of her childhood so she really would start over.
They went outside as lady Genevive lead the way. They arrived at a certain quiet place. There was a huge tree there.
Prince George found it hard to understand why did Genevive brought him here. When he was about to open his mouth the young lady spoke first.
"Prince George, this tree is quite tall so my challenge is whoever climbs this tree and arrives to the fifth branch up there first shall be the winner." Genevive said.
The prince laughed at first because he thought it was really easy, for how could a girl with a weak constitution climb the huge tree infront of them?
"Are you sure?" The prince said He was up to the game.
"Yes"
"Then game on!"
Both of them made a move, and Prince George started to climb up. Genevive climb a few moments after the prince did. She only climbed up when the prince almost arrived at the first branch.
Prince George thought that Lady Genevive couldn't climb up.
'She dare to challenge me in such a way yet she can't even do it herself' The prince thought. He was going to call her and ask if he already won since she was still below. Suddenly the words got stuck in his throat as he saw how fast the girl climbed up. He was really surprised because she went clearly longer than he did but she managed to climb up to the first branch in a mere minute.
"How did you-?" He couldn't continue his question as he saw the girl continued climbing for the second branch. 'I will not lose to a girl!' Was on the prince's head. Prince George might look welcoming and kind but he was hearthless, and he wouldn't accept defeat that easily. Except when his opponent was his brother. He knew that he couldn't overcome his twin brother in many things which made him hate himself more.
In just three minutes, the girl had arrived at the fifth branch. Prince George was only at the fourth branch which meant Genevive won.
"How did you do that? How did you climb so fast?" The prince finally asked his question with a bewildered expression..
Genevive smiled wryly as she remembered the hellish training she had when she was young. Then she turned to the prince.
"It's a secret.." A playful smirk appeared on her face.
