Chapter 1 - The Planting

Deep brown eyes staring into my soul. At least it felt like they were. It was the first time I had met him face to face. This man that I had been speaking with online for half a year. I felt like I already knew him. But seeing him sitting there across the table at a Japanese resturaunt, made me realize he was still a stranger.

He had two kids from a previous marriage. I wondered if I was just a rebound or someone to fill the hole he had. I am a very caring person. So of course I try to be understanding. I was definitely not ready for the commitment of taking on two kids. But I felt like we needed eachother.

After our date, we only saw eachother once every two weeks. But over the phone we spoke and texted constantly. I started to speak with the two kids over the phone as well. Their voices were so tiny sounding. They had only been 5 and 3 at the time. I had hope that I could come into their lives and they would appreciate and love me almost as much as they would their mother at least.

Now mind you, I am only 19. Or was I 18?... One or the other, and this man was 32. So my mom did not know about his existence for the first 6 months we started dating. But that didn't go on too long. She found out. Because she's a mom, and moms always find out.

She knew I was in a relationship. Because I started to act happier. But when she found out how old he was in comparison to me, she did not approve.

One day, he was on his way to hang out with me. We lived about 2 hours apart at the time. My mom told me to make him turn around or I would not come back home. The ultimatum.... She had given me an ultimatum.. So I called him and told him I'd be living with him from now on. I packed my stuff within 1 hour and I left.

This was a very impulsive decision and it caused a seed to plant in my heart..
