Kush was mad. He got furious when he came to pick her up. It was difficult for him to understand why Kayra gave up on her word. Why she ended up at somebody else's place when she was supposedly at the club.
He gave lift to Kayra, dropped her off at her place and left immediately. This somehow made Kayra more anxious than she was earlier.
She definitely remember when she was escorted to the VIP lounge of the club by Garry and Raavie. How she ended up at a different place and why she ended up there was a mystery. A million things were going on in her head and now Kush seemed to be upset with her.
Amidst everything she completely forgot about the client meeting at the office. She started fidgeting and only after thinking about a good excuse did she called her senior at work.
'Meeting you say? Well, we figured you're not going to show up anytime soon so Kush went in your place' said the superior in a rushed tone. 'Take rest we will see you on Monday then' he added.
Why was he not angry and more comforting? This was another strange thing on the top of the pile. A knock was heard on the door. Kayra opened the door only to see Kush. He made his way inside the flat and without a word went straight into the kitchen.
Kush was mad but his questions can wait. Although he was heading home but he figured Kayra must be hungry since she probably slept the night and half a day out after that.
Kush brought street food for her. Kayra dared not say anything useless which might tick Kush off. She just went to the kitchen where Kush was preparing for them to eat.
Kayra made drinks and they both went on gobbling the food.
The tasty snacks made them feel a little bit at ease. But it doesn't make Kush forget or forgive her in the least bit.
After awkward silence for about 5 mins, Kayra began explaining her actions to Kush. According to her she was just going through what happened in the past few days but instead she was seeking forgiveness from Kush. Deep down she knew she has somehow wronged him.
She started with the part in which she first went to the club. Kush walked out right when she continued with her follow up. He was angry. He knew any more of it and he'll loose his temper.
Kush reached his floor in the building in which he was residing. He was in disbelief. He couldn't find a reasonable answer to why he got mad at Kayra in the first place.
As a friend, he should have told her off but he simply couldn't contain his anger. This fact bugged him. After about 8 mins or so his phone beeped, it was a message from his superior to ask about Kayra's health.
Earlier when Kayra called him all confused, he made up a lie in the office saying he have to take off and go look after Kayra who was burning up with fever. He was supposedly taking her to the hospital. He cursed at himself before ringing Kayra on her cellphone.
"Hey, look I'm sorry. I know I am in the wrong and I promise it won't happen again." Kayra immediately went on with her apology. "Please don't stay mad at me. And, I'm really thankful for having y.."
"It's not about that, I forgot to tell you that you are supposed to be burning up with fever according to the superior. Don't mess this one up, that's how we both sail at office tomorrow. okay?" Kush cut her off in the middle of her apology.
"Umm okay, Thanks again I guess.." Kayra could sense the irritation in Kush's voice. She didn't say any further.
"Night then!" Kush said and disconnected.
It's gonna take him a while to let it all sink in. He couldn't let her speak any further because the amount of introspection required will be increased by ten folds.
Often times we make a big deal about everything. When it is only a needle cut it can hurt like a sword at times. He wished to protect her. He believed in her and that she can change for good. Although she has completely transformed as a person, this isn't accomodating to her as well.
Kush knew it all along, how Kayra struggled to mould her life into a different one. He saw her change so much that she's completely lost sense as to what her initial plans were!
He was just a bystander. He did not consider much of himself. Although his pride may hurt to accept that fact that he cares too much about Kayra but he knows how deep rooted it is.
