As a famous saying by R. K. Narayana goes "Certain things acquired an evil complexion if phrased, but remained harmless in the mind." Kayra refrained from saying anything.
She wanted to be sure of herself before she speaks. It is evident that her mind is a mess and no good can can be done in this situation.
Kayra's teary eyes were the sign of gratitude she felt towards Kush. The warmth his presence emitted and the comfort she felt when she was with him. She was also feeling guilty for her reckless behaviour. She said nothing but kept glancing towards Kush.
Kush on the other hand felt uneasy due to her behaviour. For him to come out of his pride and to propose to her was a big step in itself. He didn't want to let it go all for nothing. 'Let's start dating.' he quickly suggested.
'I'm sorry.' were the only words Kayra could manage. She was exhausted inside out by now. It was difficult for her to digest so many things, all at once. She knew she has yet to sort things out with her ex boyfriend because she didn't give him enough time. He probably will be waiting for her reasons.
So many things on her mind and so little time to figure out. She was engrossed in her own universe when Kush shook her hard.
'I don't need an apology, I need an answer.' Kush said. 'And I won't take a no for an answer' he continued.
Kayra was not in the right frame of mind to give him an answer. 'I... I.. don't think.. this is the right time.'
'I gave you enough time.. I didn't say anything this time when you went behind my back and took drugs again. What else is there?' Kush got mad. He didn't realise but he was loud. More like scolding her and this wasn't making her comfortable.
Kayra stood up and said that this wasn't the right time to have this conversation. Kush got hold of her hands, his grip getting tighter by the second, 'What's wrong with you? Are you rejecting me?'
'This isn't a rejection, I just need time to gather my thoughts.' Kayra responded.
'Yeah, after all there are those other two in the picture as well. You need time to ponder over who might be able to provide you with attention. As if I wasn't enough..' saying his piece Kush jerked Kayra's hand and left her place.
He was furious. He had unimaginable things going on in his head. Maybe she didn't need his care, maybe she planned to get under influence of drugs in order to gain attention from those two. 'I ruined her plan' Kush thought to himself.
He have been very supportive of her ever since they came to this city. Every time she lost control, he would be the one to help her. By this time he has developed some sort of authority over Kayra.
For Kayra, Kush has been very supportive. But, she only looks at him as an idol figure. Kush is her senior. She is thankful for everything Kush did for her but that doesn't mean she feel burdened because of it and let him have his way.
Firstly that thing by Garry and Raavie, she felt conned! She was trying to avoid them but now it is inevitable, she has to take a firm stand when it is out in the open that they both are trying to harm her.
Now this thing with Kush, she about to tell him the truth when he imagined things and over reacted. Now that she's alone again, she just wants to leave this place for good.
Kayra booked her flight for the next day. The flight leaves at 4:30 a.m.
Kayra has one entire day for her preparations. She has received the certificate for internship, filed for termination. Things with landlord are already sorted. Tenants are ready to move in the very next day she vacates. All she has to do is pack her stuff and leave.
She has had a good amount of rest and had dinner as well. Consequently, she packed her stuff throughout the night.
In the morning, she went out for the breakfast. Pondering what to do next, she decided to visit her office during lunchtime to bid final goodbye to her colleagues. She is aware that she has to tell Kush about her decision. She has to leave anyway, what possibly another week can do. She'll only miss out on academics if she were to stay any longer. She procrastinated over it for a long time and finally left the restaurant.
Just when she made up her mind to give Kush a call, her phone rang.
It was an unknown caller ID!
