Kush heard his colleagues taking about Kayra heading to a café with two guys.
They knew she applied for internship certificate and no longer works for their office. Meeting with people near office is still a big move though.
"Kayra should stay out of sight" said one of the person.
"I know, right? Boss won't like her wandering around office premises. I remember, he made the other intern work till the day his flight left for his home town." added another.
"I got a picture. Those guys were cute. She's moving out anyway, what harm would it cause her to introduce me to those guys?"
Due to this conversation, he came to know the whereabouts of Kayra.
He got jealous for no apparent reason and rushed to the cafe. At the entrance of the cafe he saw Kayra accompanied by two guys. They were probably helping her.
"I'll take it from here." Kush said while grabbing Kayra by waist and pulling her towards himself.
He took one hand of her over his shoulder.
Raavie and Garry seemed to be bothered by his behavior but Kush wasn't paying attention.
"Hey we are friends with her. Who are you? Do you know her?" Garry questioned him with a form of authority. He demanded answers for snatching his prey away. He wanted to tone down and handle things easily because this place was way to crowded for him to act.
"Yes, I'm her childhood friend. Thanks for your help but I suppose you don't know where she stays or contact information about her parents! I'm taking her to the hospital and I will contact necessary people upon my arrival." Kush was mad to the point that he could start a fight easily. Seeing Kayra unconscious was making him feel helpless. "Now if you will excuse, we have somewhere to be."
Raavie would not let go of Kayra's hand and spoke in an almost arrogant manner. "She's not going anywhere. Hospital is the last place she would want to be right now."
Garry continued, " She consumed drugs and if she were to be examined by a doctor, she would surely be awarded with some jail time along with heavy fines." He wanted to make sure to puzzle Kush. He didn't need any investigation, his investment is yet to pay back and a setback is the last thing he would want before that.
"She said she was lonely and asked us to accompany her. When we arrived, she was already heavily sedated and kept laughing. When we asked her about it she offered us some but said she was out of stock because she already consumed it all."
Then Raavie joined in, "She herself denied our offer for help. We asked her to come to hospital with us but she got hyped and suddenly collapsed. But, we know that this overdose will only put her in a deep sleep."
"Yeah, we were helping her before you butted in, you know?" said Garry in an angry tone.
"Okay, no hospital but I'm taking her to my place. She needs to rest well and will need somebody to look after her." Kush still won't budge or leave her be.
Seeing that situation might get worse if somebody notices, Garry agreed but offered to accompany her.
Upon reaching Kush's place, Garry also gave a hand to make bed for Kayra. Meanwhile, Raavie arrived with glucose and the entire drip set up for Kayra.
It was already 8:30 in the evening now. Kush offered food to both of them but they declined and said they will be back the next day.
After they left, Kush went to Kayra's room. 'She took drugs again!' he thought to himself. 'He partly blamed himself for all of this. His criticism for Kayra was too much probably. She must have to stressed out all on her own and didn't even reach him. Maybe he worries would have scared her away from him.
This time he wasn't mad but it kind of broke his heart to learn about the fact that Kayra felt lonely and couldn't ask for his company.
What wouldn't he have done to be with her and spend some time with her. Everything came to him, all at once. For now, he knows how he feels about Kayra. He is sure of his emotions otherwise he wouldn't be meddling with the two guys from earlier.
He did not even know their names but he was thankful towards them for being with Kayra and being so thoughtful towards her.
Ignorance is indeed a bliss!
Kush was so blind in emotions that he missed out on so many things. His rational mind wouldn't have let him come this far.
For now he is wiping Kayra's face with a wet cloth.
Kush understands that Kayra need time to recover. So, he silently carried on with his chores.
