Kush was waiting for Kayra to get back home. He sincerely believed that Kayra needs to change and he is here to talk to her.
After that day when Kush picked her up, they never talked properly. Kush racked his brain over his reaction. Why would he be so angry? What made him so mad that he couldn't talk to her or even look at her.
What worries him more is this sense of guilt and over protectiveness he feels towards Kayra.
He has a hint that he might like her but whose gonna tell! He kept pondering over the thought again and again.
He concluded he shouldn't impose on Kayra and let her be. But then changed his mind over the possibility that Kayra might need help. In the form of a good friend, he should be nice to her and not let Kayra slip away her life over drugs.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" Kayra was excited to see Kush, she didn't want to spend time alone with her depressing thoughts. But in pure excitement, her words came out rushed and almost too rude to the person listening to her.
Kush frowned, "Now I'm not allowed to visit?"
Kayra was dumfounded.
Kush nudged in disappointment. "Anyway, I'm here today, want me to go back or am I going to get invited inside?"
"I didn't mean that. I mean, I am happy to see you here." Kayra gushed adding, " Thank you for being there for me every time. Even though I end up wasting your time."
Kush flicked Kayra on her head and asked if he has to spend the evening in the corridor itself!
Only then Kayra came out of her overwhelming emotional state of mind. On a serious note, she was scared. Somehow Raavie and Garry made her inquisitive. She could not understand them no matter how much she tried.
"You know I understand the phase that you're in. But, honestly I don't think a change this drastic was much needed. You should relax and think back to where things were.
You are not a person like this. Believe me, from where I see it. It's not a very good position you're putting yourself in.
Letting go of yourself, being carefree is only good for some time. You got to be more serious about yourself. Take stand, and by that I mean firm stand on your believes and convictions.
I mean no harm and bear no ill intentions but please take it slow. Think ahead! If you can't plan for 5 years ahead, plan for 2 years instead. Just taking decisions recklessly will end up you future in the damp...."
Kush went on for a long time.
He didn't realize when he spaced out and started blabbering. Kayra went on a trip to her memory lane and started sobbing. Thinking about all the decisions and lies she has created a difficult situation for herself in this city. She wants to leave and go somewhere, anywhere is fine. Maybe she is ready to go back home.
When Kush realized what was going on, Kayra was already crying out loud.
"I want to go home, I want to go back." were the words she kept repeating. Earlier the strange encounter with the duo and now this speech from Kush. She was feeling low for some time now but for sure, now is the time for her to leave.
Kayra didn't tell anything about Garry and Raavie to Kush. She was afraid of loosing Kush or seeing him mad again.
The very next day she filled for her internship termination and booked her flight. Anyway the term mandated by the University is already covered. Now, she can go back to college to resume her classes.
"Hello, there!" the voice made her turn back and look the speaker in the eye. It was Garry!
"We were about to call but it would have ruined the surprise" Garry said in a tone which was impossible for Kayra to determine.
She was puzzled to see him standing there.
"Let's go, Raavie is waiting for us in the café." he said while grabbing Kayra's hand. He was already dragging her when Kayra snapped back into her senses.
Kayra couldn't wiggle out of his grip. She wasn't able to utter a single word. They entered the café and Garry immediately spotted Raavie. It was as if they had decided to sit at that particular table.
"Here, take care of your girl." Garry handed over Kayra's hand to Raavie. It was as if she was a little girl and they were keeping her from getting lost.
Kayra said nothing but wiggled her way out this time. She didn't know what to say. "You girl?" were the only words she managed to squeak out.
"Yeah, you don't like that? That's upsetting you know." It was as if it really broke Raavie's heart.
Kayra sat there like a statue while Garry and Raavie came up with a topic to discuss.
"Guys, it was nice meeting you again but I really have something urgent to take care of!" Kayra stood up to leave just when Raavie held her hand and asked her to stay for a while.
"I'm leaving for a business trip tomorrow please don't leave so soon today." he said.
I really have to be there in like half an hour. It's important office work." Kayra refrained herself from telling them about leaving the city for good.
She sat there. Had no other choice as Raavie would not let go of her hand.
