Chapter 1 - The old man needs help

There lived in an old town far away from civilization a very old man who's only skill lay in forgery. His mastery of the craft was unsurpassed by any of the land and no one knew of how he came by his magnificent skill. However he rarely worked for hire instead he would live the life of solitude and work on his craft alone.

One day he walked into town with a baby in his arm and spoke with the skyhawk bar manager Mrs. Johnson, asking for a young woman who could be a wetnurse for the child. She told the 'old man' (as that was all he's known as) that there was only the stranger girl living with her who had no husband and was with child out of wedlock. She had given birth two weeks prior and was living at the saloon/inn under Mrs. Johnson's protectorate. The old man saw no issue with the dishonor of being pregnant outside of marriage and went to talk to the young woman. He went up to her room as Mrs. Johnson trusted the old man wouldn't do anything disrespectful. The old Smith talked to her and asked if she would be willing to take care of the child. She said "I need you to give me a place to raise the child and income with which to support me my daughter and your boy" "he ain't mine, but I can offer you my second cabin as for income I have money just so long as you don't bother me as to how I came by it". They bought supplies and necessities at the nearest shop.
