After that mission, Allen's life became monotonous once more. He wasn't sent on any missions more than a day's travel from the headquarters thus, he was constantly there.
The situation with the other order members have only deteriorated in time with Kanda and Lenalee causing the most pain for him. Lavi, Miranda, Crowley, Link, Johnny, and Jerry have been the only ones to initiate conversations with him.
He once again searched for any information about innocence or anything having to do with it.
When it was a week after the chess master mission, Neah appeared on his mind once more. It seems every time they meet, it takes 7 days for him to be able to do it again.
"Neah…." Allen says almost amicably.
He hasn't spoken to anybody in days with most of the people who do speak to him out on missions.
[Hey, Allen….] The memory had a new appreciation for the boy too.
He combed through a majority of Allen's memories and he cried. A being who has lived for over 7 thousand years, who has experienced sadness behind imagination, cried at the abuse this child has suffered.
Allen closed his eyes and he was brought into his dreams. His body was in the control room once more, with Neah sitting in front of him. He felt relaxed for the first time in days.
"So, are we going to finish that conversation?"
"Yeah, where was I?"
"The rebellion…."
"Right." Neah nodded and the two tea cups appeared once more.
"We helped the humans as our parents wanted and their fear made them rebel. But, they didn't have the strength to do it, so where would they get it?" Allen could feel how angry he was.
"From us. To kill us, you need to use one of us." His statement shocked the boy. "My mother and father were both gentle people despite the power they held…."
"They treated the humans like they treated us, and didn't realize their motives until it was too late. They were able to use sorcery to seal my parent's powers…." He clenched both of his hands around the other and drew blood.
"Neah, you don't need to continue if it's too painful…."
"No, you need to know this story before we merge Allen. The grief and rage makes my hosts go insane sometimes if they don't."
"….."
The teen waited a few minutes until the man in front of him continued.
"Sorcery is a force not governed by God. Mightra discovered it and we were able to create a system from it. A system we taught the humans who in turn developed it even more."
"Normally, no matter how strong it was, my parents wouldn't have been affected. However…." He paused again. "My parents weren't able to release their full strength's in the world so they limited themselves outside of the Ark."
"The humans knew this and used it against them. They used her body to create innocence…my mother…our mother is the innocence, Allen.."
"…Ugh! *puke*" Allen vomits everything in his stomach despite being in his head.
The fact that Crown Clown and all of the other innocence's was made from a human disgusted him. Despite his initial suspicions, he still held out hope for that to not be true. Neah, patted his back lightly to calm him down.
"I…how…why?"
"That was our question as well….my father also disappeared at the same time. They were made with the concepts of light and darkness in mind, thus when one disappears….The other does so as well."
"No…." The boy was in too much shock to react.
"My family lost our parents on the same day, and we haven't forgiven the humans since. We destroy innocence, to bring her peace, but…"
"But?"
"Adam went insane from their disappearance, he's forgotten what our goal was. Now….he's just a puppet of destruction hell bent on killing everything…." Neah clenched his hands. "As the central figure in our family, his insanity affected us. well, everybody but me…."
"Why…?"
"Because, I'm the Noah of Destruction Allen. As such, I'm the strongest, despite being the youngest." He paused and let Allen settle down with the knowledge he just laid out.
It took a few minutes, but the boy calmed as he sipped some tea. Neah was thankful that he had such a tough mind.
"The humans weaponized our mother and attacked us. We have never fought using our abilities, while they did nothing but fight. They were able to kill all of us except Adam and I."
"That's…."
"God was angered, that his own creations were destroyed by being that were lucky to be alive. That should have been grateful for the gifts his children have given them. Thus, he in his anger, set about the Flood…"
"However, God forgives and he left few humans he deemed worthy love while my brother and I hid on the Ark. strangely enough, after the flood settled, only man was killed, not any other creature."
"When we returned from the Ark, I saw the devastation God caused and immediately felt disgusted. I may be the Noah of Destruction, but that amount of it…." Neah sighed sadly.
"He must have heard my thoughts, because he spoke to me at that moment. He said that even though we weren't immortal like our parents, our memories would reincarnate through the humans he left behind…."
"God also mentioned that with each reincarnation, our souls would be cleansed."
"That's good….right?" Allen saw the most despondent smile yet on the man.
"It allowed me to see my siblings again, but…..it caused far more problems than you'd believe." He chuckles morosely.
"Through the millennia, I saw my family slowly go insane with anger. Because Adam was still alive, the insanity he had was still there. With each reincarnation, they became more sadistic, murderous, and finally 35 years ago. I had to end it…"
"I killed everybody except road and the Earl. He found out about what I was doing and ambushed me. I…wasn't strong enough Allen." Tears fall from his eyes.
"I wasn't strong enough to save them….and now, because of my weakness….it falls on you…."
"…."
The two sit in comfortable silence. One sobbing while the other trying to calm him down. It took a long time, but Allen waited patiently.
"I'm sorry you had to see that, Allen…."
"Neah…don't apologize."
"I hate that I have to leave this to you, your life has been it's own kind of hell, But…I want my family back…the kind Adam who played with me, the funny Bondom who read me stories, the sweet toothed Wrathra who gave me candy, I miss them so much…."
"…."
"I'm also glad it's you though."
"Why…?"
"Your innocence was able to purify Joyd's Noah for a while, if we can combine it with dark matter, We might not have to kill them again…." His sobbing voice filled with hope made Allen feel bad for him.
The area starts to get shattered and they both knew time was up.
"Be careful Allen, The order isn't directly descended from the people that made the innocence but they have inherited it's will. It's not a good place to be for one such as us…."
"I understand, Neah…"
"Good…." He pats his host's head and all went black.
"Walker? I'm done with the report." Link knocked on the door and sighed as he waited for a few minutes.
'Strange, he's normally a light sleeper….' The inspector thinks when the door opens.
"Sorry, Link."
"Walker…you're crying."
"Oh?" Allen wipes his eye with shock. "Yeah, sorry about that. You need me to sign it, right?" He grabs the paper and walks to his desk to do so.
"Here."
"..you're not going to come with me to hand it in?"
"….Can you do it, Link? I'm still….."
"*sigh* unfortunately that would give you time alone which I'm absolutely forbidden from doing."
"Oh yeah, I forgot your orders." Allen nodded and dressed in his uniform to head out.
They walk in silence as they have done from the beginning.
'For once, I'm glad for it…' Allen thinks as he's still reeling from the information given to him by Neah.
'Crown Clown…..' he looks at his left arm's green cross.
Thankfully, nobody passed them in the halls and they reach Komui's office.
"Come in."
"Hi, Komui." Allen enters and greets the branch leader.
"Allen~! I haven't seen you in a while. Are you feeling ok?"
"Yeah…I'm just here to hand in my report." The boy hands the paper over.
"Oh…you know, we miss you around here. I'm sure Lenalee would-"
"I doubt it…" Allen leaves the office, but link. Stayed behind for a little longer.
"Why is he-"
"I'll be honest, Branch Chief Komui." Link interrupts him
The inspector was in shock as he has never interrupted a superior like This before. However, he can't let the situation continue. He's grown fond of the boy over the weeks, despite his better judgement.
"Allen Walker is isolating himself from the rest of the Order."
"What!?" The branch head stood up in shock.
"You didn't know?"
"I mean, I knew he wasn't as happy as he used to be with the whole 14th thing and Cross' death, but…."
"Only a handful of people even talk to him anymore while the rest either ignore or insult him. I wouldn't be surprised if the Noah takes over because he's mentally weakenef…"
"Never! Allen is our-"
"Your what? Comrade? Friend? Why, he seems more like a prisoner at this point." Link leaves the room with that and catches up to Allen who was slowly walking to his room.
