Chapter Two – what is she?
"Miss, I am Dr. Kael Flynn, I am a Professor at Salem University. Are you hurt?"
Aria frowns when he mentions his name, because it means something, but she can't remember, her memory is gone. Kael Flynn, it is a familiar name. He walks closer to her and Aria sees a woman, then a group of people, then him, the man she think she knows but can't remember.
"Hi, I – I'm – " Aria pauses, because she does not know her name, she knows she is Aria Wilder, but she is unsure of what her new name is, can she go by her former name? She decides to go by her middle name and keep her surname.
"I'm Aria Wilder, and I – where am I?" She frowns, looking at him. He is a tall man, muscular, he has green eyes that reflect in the sun, he is stunning.
"Hi, Miss or Mrs. Wilder, you are in Salem Woods. Do you remember how you got here, do you mind wearing my suit, just to cover you up a little?" He says and Aria gasps as it hits her, she is no longer in Boston, but she is in Salem, Salem? How on earth did she get to Salem, why would she even be in Salem. She glance at the suit he is offering, and she realizes she has just a really short dress on, it is barely covering her body, her breast is spilling out and her ass could be on display if she bends.
"Thank you." She nods as she collects his suit and put it on, it smells of sunshine and dusk, an odd but appreciated juxtaposition. The woman walks closer, the crowd is long gone and Aria tenses, and she feels a odd sensation through her fingertips, like cackling.
"Hi, I'm Luna." The woman smiles and Aria nods, she looks at Kael, then at Aria, perhaps they are married, and she is his mate.
"Where is your Pack?" Lana asks and Aria shakes her head, because she does not know.
"I have no money or a place to stay, I have no memories of how I go to Salem Woods, naked and alone. Thank you for the suit, but I need to go." Aria frowns, she can't tell them she is from the Boston Pack, she does not even know them, maybe they want to kill her too, she still feels the heat of the flame that engulfed her physical being, the last thing she wants to do is trust someone and get killed again, this is a second chance and she does not want to fumble it. So, she nods at the couple and she walks past them, but the woman – Lana, takes her hand softly and Aria gasps as an onslaught of emotions fills her and a memory plays before her eyes like a movie.
"Mom, please don't leave." Young Lana cries and Aria watches from afar.
"Stay with your dad and leave me alone." A woman says and young Lana starts to cry
Aria staggers backwards as the memory fades, and her chest aches. W – what?
"Did – did you see that?" She exclaims.
Kael looks at her, frowning. One moment, Lana was touching and speaking to her and the next moment, she pulled away like she was scorched.
"See what?" Lana ask.
"T – that memory! I saw you; I saw you cry; your mom was leaving. I felt your emotions, are you messing with me right now? Did you put that in my head?" Aria exclaims, confused and afraid and Lana steps back, shocked because that was a memory, a personal memory of almost fifteen years ago, ho – how did Aria see it?
"I – I – I can't breathe." Aria gasps and Kael rushes to her, but when he gets to her, she passes out, and he carries her in his arm, unconscious.
__
Kael lives in a big manor in Salem Willow, and he lives alone. Occasionally, he is visited by his best friend, Gideon Stone and Luna, but most of the times, it is just him. He frowns as he covers Aria up, and adjusts the pillow, making sure not to look at her caramel body, or the tattoo on her arm. He gives her one look and he walks out, to the wide living space to see his best friend and Luna.
"Work me through this." Gideon asks and Luna sighs, getting herself a drink, her head is pounding.
"We saw her in the woods less an hour ago, she does not remember anything, and somehow, she saw Luna's memory, a childhood memory, even Luna barely remembers it. She passed out few seconds later, and I brought her here." Kael explains and Gideon nods.
"I'm sorry, Lu, that must have felt rough." Gideon says softly to Luna and Kael clears his throat because he feels like he is intruding on a personal moment, an intimate one.
"Thank you, Gideon. One thing that is baffling me is – what is she? She has the markings of a Wolf, she belongs to a Park, or is she a Witch, there are few witches in Massachusetts, and we are all aware of one another, we have a coven, and – I just can't understand. What I do understand is she was able to tap into my memories, but how? Does that make her a Witch?" Luna questions and Kael thinks.
"You touched her, right? When she tried to leave, you touched her palm to stop her from leaving, is that why she was able to tap into her memories?" Kael points out and Luna nods.
"That is a possibility, so she is a Witch, who can tap into memories by touch?" Gideon frowns.
"I don't know, but if she has that kind of power, I am certain she has more, and power attracts evil, a greater kind of evil. She is weak and fragile right now, easy to manipulate, but I doubt she will be weak and fragile for a long time." Lu says and suddenly, there is a loud scream, shaking the core of the manor.
