Chapter Seven – You Project That Feeling
Aria gets up and sneaks out of Kael's bedroom as quietly as she can, last night was a bit crazy, the fact that they are mates is even crazier, but now, they have indulged in their sexual needs, she hopes the Wolf in her can settle, because the last thing she needs is to complicate things by being involved with Kael. She is alive, she was dead and now she is alive, she is not going to squander this unique and iconic second chance, this divine gift by rolling in the sheets with the man that got her killed.
She has time, a perfect body, and power – insane and unbelievable power, she can't wait to get to the actual depth of it and immerse herself in all the ways she is and would be. However, she has no phone, no money, no clothe that is truly hers, the only thing that Aria believe is truly hers is the power within her veins. She spends the morning freshening up, and her body tingles from last night adventure and she blushes. Eventually, she heads to the living space and sees everyone there, Gideon, Luna and Kael.
"Hey." She smiles at them, and Kael grins at her, walks to her and acts like he wants to hug and kiss her fondly, she maneuvers her way past him, avoiding his gesture, hoping no one notices.
"Hi, Aria." Gideon nods and Luna smiles. There is something about Luna that rubs Aria in a very odd way, the way she acts, like she knows something Aria doesn't. Aria understands that she is a witch and has been a witch all her life, meaning Aria is supposed to respect her, give her, her flowers, especially since she is teaching her somethings, but you sincerely can't blame Aria for feeling up the food chain, because she is better and stronger too.
"Was that you last night, the insane rain?" Gideon asks and her eyes widens.
"No, it wasn't me, just nature, I guess." She lies effortlessly and she ignores Kael's pointed gaze.
"Aria and I will like to tell you something." He announces out of nowhere and she looks at him with a frown, because she does not want to tell them anything, what is he talking about?
"Oh, tell us, what is it about?" Lana urges and Aria shakes her head.
"No, no, there is nothing to tell. What are you talking about, Kael?" She chuckles humorlessly and he walks to her, she freezes as he wraps his hands around her and smiles.
"She is my mate and I am hers." He announces and she wiggles out of his hold, annoyed and beyond pissed.
"No, what are you talking about? Who does that?" She snaps and he frowns.
"I felt the tension when we stepped in." Gideon remarks and they ignore him.
"What is going on Aria, you have been odd since you woke up. First, you sneak out of my room after having good sex all through the night, then you ignore me when I try to hug you, and now, you are playing dumb, acting like nothing what happened. What the hell, Aria?" He frowns, utterly confused and Gideon whistles in shock.
"It was sex, it was just sex, and not even that good. We are not mates, okay, we are just sexually attracted to each other, and we had our fill, time to move on, you don't have to make it a big deal. It was just sex, and now, we are done." She waves her hand in the air as she shouts and Luna looks at her, feeling an intense hatred for Aria.
"Just sex? I asked you and I even told you we do not have to do anything just because we are mates, I told you, and you kissed me, you, what the hell are you talking about? You know what? It is fine, I understand now, you don't want to be in a relationship with me and that's fine because I didn't ask you to be in one with me, you could have just said something, anything else, rather than yelling at me and trying to humiliate me in front of my family. We are adults and the Manor is big enough. I need to get to work." He says, remaining calm and he walks out.
"He is being dramatic, so dramatic. Mates are not even a thing anymore, in Boston, it does not even matter whether you are mates or not, you don't have to be mates. It was just sex, not a big deal. Anyway, putting Kael's penchant for dramatics aside, I'm ready, Luna, let's begin, I'm so excited to learn from a witch, who knows, maybe I can teach you one or two along the way." She chuckles and Luna looks at her, without laughing, so does Gideon.
"Kael is not a dramatic person, you hurt him, because of your childishness and selfishness, but that is fine, the manor is big enough, you should stay out of his way, he is doing you a favor by not throwing you out on the streets. I won't be able to teach you magic today, I have a full day and I just decided that I do not like you. You loath yourself and you project that feeling unto others, you have this bad energy and aura, and the power in you will set you aflame from inside if you keep moving like this. Excuse me." Luna articulates and walks away.
Aria watches in shock as she walks away.
"I do not loath myself and I am perfectly fine. Kael was being dramatic, and now, she won't teach me because of what? I don't need her, I literally died and now I have a second chance, I won't spend my second chance surrounding myself with toxic people." She snaps, trying to convince herself and Gideon looks at her, he nods and he walks out too, to where Luna and Kael are, and Aria feel more lonely than ever,
