Taro took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. He was in Daichi's body. It felt strange—powerful, yet unsettling. He could feel Daichi's strength just from clenching his fists.
Then, Daichi's mother called again.
"Daichi! Are you deaf? Get down here!"
Taro hesitated. Should he go? If he acted too differently, people might suspect something was wrong. He needed to blend in—at least for now.
Slowly, he walked out of the room and down the stairs.
A dining table was set, and Daichi's parents were already eating. His father barely glanced up, focused on his food, but his mother gave him a sharp look.
"You took your time," she muttered.
Taro nodded, sitting down. His stomach churned. He was in his bully's house, sitting at his table, pretending to be him.
But he had a bigger problem.
What was happening to his real body?
Back in His Real Body…
Somewhere, in a dark, empty room, Taro's real body sat motionless. His head was drooped slightly, his breathing slow.
Unconscious.
Unmoving.
Just like his mother had said—when he took over a body, the original owner blacked out.
If someone saw him like that, they might think something was wrong. What if his mother checked on him? What if someone tried to wake him up?
Back in Daichi's Body…
Taro swallowed a bite of food, barely tasting it. His mind was spinning. He needed to return to his real body before something went wrong.
He pulled out Daichi's phone.
If he canceled the call, would he switch back?
He took a deep breath and ended the call.
Darkness.
Then, he gasped and opened his eyes.
Back in His Own Body
Taro blinked. He was in his room again, the strange phone in his hands. His heart was pounding.
It worked.
He looked around. His room was exactly as he had left it. No one had come in.
He exhaled sharply.
This power was real. And it was dangerous.
But now that he knew how it worked…
He could use it however he wanted.
To be continued…
