Taro grinned as he stared at Daichi's reflection in the mirror. This body, this power—it was all his, if only for a moment.
The message was sent. Mai Tanaka, Daichi's popular and loyal girlfriend, would meet him behind the gym after school.
But what should he do?
He could break up with her, say something awful, ruin Daichi's reputation. Or… he could do something even worse.
A twisted idea formed in his mind. What if he made her hate Daichi forever?
The Setup
Taro walked through the halls, trying to move like Daichi. He had to act natural, or people would get suspicious.
As he entered the cafeteria, Daichi's friends spotted him.
"Yo, Daichi!" one of them called. "Where were you? We were gonna mess with that loser Taro today."
Taro stiffened.
They were going to bully him? In front of him?
His grip tightened. He forced a smirk, just like Daichi would. "Nah, forget that loser. I've got better things to do."
The guys laughed. "Man, that's cold. You're the one who smashed his phone, too!"
Taro clenched his fists. These guys… they were all the same.
But he had Daichi's strength now. He could crush them all if he wanted.
No. Not yet.
He had a plan, and he needed to stick to it.
Behind the Gym
After school, Taro made his way to the back of the gym. Mai was already there, waiting with her arms crossed.
She looked annoyed. "Took you long enough, Daichi. What's so important?"
Taro smirked. "I've been thinking… Maybe we should stop pretending."
Mai frowned. "What do you mean?"
Taro took a step closer, lowering his voice. "You and me. We both know this relationship is fake. You're only with me because I'm popular, and I'm only with you because you're hot. But let's be real… I've had better."
Mai's eyes widened in shock. "What the hell did you just say?"
Taro shrugged. "You heard me. I'm just getting bored of you."
Mai's face twisted in rage. "You bastard!"
She slapped him hard across the face. But Taro barely felt it—Daichi's body was tough.
"I can't believe you," she hissed. "You know what? Screw you, Daichi. We're done!"
She stormed off, furious.
Taro watched her go, a satisfied smirk on his face.
Daichi Sato just lost his perfect girlfriend.
The Aftermath
Taro returned to the bathroom, pulled out the strange phone, and ended the call.
Darkness.
When he opened his eyes, he was back in his own body, sitting in an empty classroom.
He grinned. It worked.
When Daichi woke up, he wouldn't remember what had happened. He would just know that his girlfriend broke up with him, and he had no idea why.
And this was only the beginning.
To be continued…
