Chapter 9 - The Turning Point

The lunchroom was filled with whispers as Daichi sat in the corner, his clothes still stained with spilled food, his face flushed with humiliation. His eyes darted around, trying to avoid the mocking stares of the students who had witnessed his earlier breakdown.

Taro stood from a distance, watching the entire scene unfold, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. Daichi's fall from grace had just begun.

But Taro wasn't done yet.

As he passed by Daichi's table, he casually pulled out the strange phone once more. His finger hovered over the contact list, and his eyes landed on one name in particular—Takeshi Watanabe.

Taro pressed Call.

Darkness.

Inside Takeshi's Body

Taro opened his eyes and blinked as he found himself in a new body, one much more athletic than Daichi's. Takeshi's form was taller, broader, and had more muscle, but that wasn't the point.

He was now in Takeshi's body.

His fingers flexed as he adjusted to his new strength, then he quickly looked around, locating Daichi across the cafeteria.

The timing was perfect.

Taro walked up to Daichi's table, a wicked grin on his face. Daichi didn't even notice him approaching until he was right in front of him.

Without a word, Taro grabbed Daichi's plate, lifting it in the air as if it weighed nothing. With a swift motion, he hurled the entire contents of the plate straight at Daichi's head.

The food splattered against Daichi's face and hair, and for a brief moment, everything went silent.

The entire cafeteria froze.

Daichi's eyes went wide with shock, his face dripping with mashed potatoes, gravy, and vegetables.

"You... YOU—"

His fist clenched, rage taking over.

Before he could speak another word, Daichi swung a wild punch at Taro—

Taro quickly canceled the call.

Darkness.

Back in His Own Body

Taro opened his eyes to see Daichi's fist aimed squarely at Takeshi's face.

The punch landed with a sickening thud.

Takeshi's face contorted in confusion. "What the hell, Daichi?"

The punch hadn't been aimed at him—Takeshi had no idea what had just happened, but one thing was clear: Daichi was furious, and he had just hit his own friend.

"Why the hell did you just do that?" Takeshi shouted, rubbing his jaw as he stared at Daichi.

"I didn't—!" Daichi sputtered, still wiping food off his face, his eyes blazing with anger. "You were the one who did this to me!"

Takeshi blinked, baffled. "What are you talking about? I didn't throw food at you!"

The confusion between the two escalated. Daichi swung at Takeshi again, his fist connecting with Takeshi's chest this time. Takeshi shoved him back, knocking over his own chair.

The room erupted into chaos as the two began to fight, punches flying in all directions.

Taro watched from the sidelines, his heart racing with excitement.

This was just the beginning.

Both of them were so wrapped up in their own rage, they didn't even notice the crowd gathering around them, whispering, judging.

The disciplinary officer was already making her way over, but by then, Daichi and Takeshi were too far gone.

Taro smiled to himself, stepping back into the crowd, unnoticed.

The chain reaction had already started. Step one had been achieved.

Now, the entire school would see Daichi for what he really was: a coward, a bully, and a fool.

And Takeshi?

He was just another pawn in Taro's game.

To be continued…
