Taro's hands trembled as he stared at the phone. His heart pounded in his chest. Had that really just happened? Was he hallucinating?
He needed to be sure.
Taking a deep breath, he looked around. The street was busy, people walking by without a care, unaware of the reality-shattering discovery he had just made.
"I have to test this," he muttered.
He scrolled through his contacts, hesitating. He couldn't call his mother again—what if something went wrong? He needed someone else.
His finger hovered over a name. Daichi Sato.
One of the bullies.
A sinister thought crossed his mind. If this phone really worked the way he thought it did… he could make Daichi suffer. But was he really ready for that?
No. He had to be smart about this.
Instead, he decided to call someone harmless—his best friend, Yuki.
He pressed the call button.
Ring… Ring…
Once again, everything went black.
When he opened his eyes, he was in a different room. A messy desk with books scattered everywhere, anime posters on the walls, and an unmade bed.
This was Yuki's room.
Taro looked down at himself and saw Yuki's hands. He moved his fingers—everything felt real. Too real. He quickly grabbed Yuki's phone and looked at the screen. The call was still active.
His breathing quickened. This was insane.
Testing a theory, he canceled the call.
The darkness swallowed him again.
When he opened his eyes, he was back in his own body, his phone in his hand. His heart raced with excitement and fear.
It was real. The phone could switch bodies.
But now came the real question—how could he use it?
For the first time in his miserable life, Taro had power. And he wasn't going to waste it.
