Lisa's first mistake was getting excessively drunk and waking up married to Bane.
This was her second major mistake since taking over this body, the former Lisa wouldn't have fallen into such a trap easily, right?
Lisa felt her cheeks flushed hotly and in confusion she wanted to slowly back away from him.
Instead she stifled the urge to make a run for it but there was no way for her to put space between them without him noticing.
Vivica was definitely out for blood, Lisa shouldn't have let her guard down so easily.
Being separated from the rest of the girls certainly had its disadvantages.
No one had called to tell her about any photo shoot or any expectations for the casino opening event.
Besides, Vivica had already made it clear she didn't like her.
Saying that the supervisor didn't like her to Bane was not going to do her any favors.
She could hear the snickers as Vivica and her minions were laughing at Lisa behind their backs.
Taking a deep breath she countered, "My apologies Mr. Shadowhurst. I'm sorry to be late. I can assure you that it won't happen again, but…"
Bane interrupted, "If not dressing appropriately for work is another ploy for you to get my attention because spilling drinks on my lap wasn't enough. Then you can continue to tease me with those lovely breasts of yours and I…"
"How dare you talk to me like that!" she wanted to smack him.
The very first time she ever met Bane she accidentally spilled drinks on his lap and his reaction had been very cold and indifferent towards her.
After that embarrassing experience Lisa had disliked and gone out of her way to avoid Bane at all costs.
I'm sorry my namesake, she thought.
Lisa could feel her future promotion not to mention her job moving out of her reach.
Once she put this ignorant ass Bane in his place there was no way he wouldn't want an annulment of their marriage.
He might speak to the other ladies like this and get away with it.
That won't swing with her, no way would Lisa allow him to treat her as if she was one of his admiring groupies willing to hop into his bed.
"I love it when I see that fire flash in your eyes," he drawled. "Sadly, my brother doesn't appreciate your type, do you understand?"
Puzzled, but still angry she continued to shoot darts at him with her eyes.
"No, I don't understand," Lisa snapped.
Then she followed his heated gaze to her chest.
Apparently she hadn't buttoned her blouse correctly and her lace bra was on display for him to feast his eyes on her boobs.
Bane smirked, "You might want to button those three at the top."
Despite feeling embarrassed she sensibly did as Bane said, every second that passed she felt regret for her earlier outburst.
Bane advised, "Go and get dressed in the back room, I'll let the others know that they are to wait on you."
Lisa rushed to do as he bid.
"I'm not done talking with you but seeing that time is of the essence I will wait outside for you," added Bane.
Despite his leniency towards her, Lisa still thought he was the most arrogant bastard she ever had the misfortune to lay eyes on.
How could he say that about his own brother? What the hell did he know?
He might be her employer but that didn't give him the right to speak to her with such a patronizing attitude.
She greeted the hair and make-up artists who quickly got to work.
Helping her get ready for the night after she slipped into the white mini cocktail dress with the hotel's crest on it.
There was a knock on the door and shortly after Chandra rushed in, "Oh my gosh, Lisa. I'm so sorry I've been looking everywhere for you and when I asked the front receptionist which room you were staying in. She let me know that it was a matter of privacy and she couldn't divulge that information. Bless your soul, you managed to make it in time."
"There is no use crying over spilt milk, just tell me what I missed in the meeting."
"Basically for the week, even though this is Las Vegas we will start work at 5pm promptly for the next five days but because there are so many girls we need to be available during the hours from Two to Five in the evening for hair and makeup."
Chandra took a breather before she continued speaking.
"Go on," Lisa encouraged.
"You should have seen Tristan, he looked so dignified and polished, nothing like how he looked in Los Angeles. That man was made to wear a suit," gushed Chandra. "Tristan definitely holds us all to high standards he expects us to be on time and there should be no difference in routine from what we are usually paid to do. If there's a problem with the guest that we can't handle we should only pass it on to the Shadowhurst Brothers if either Vivica or the hotel manager is unavailable. We should all be highly motivated and do our jobs to the same standard as those in Los Angeles."
Fair enough, Lisa would expect nothing less than impressive from Tristan, her spirits felt lifted knowing that Tristan cared about the ladies.
Even though she was off to a bad start she vowed to do her best to live up to words of wisdom.
"You even make this simple dress look so graceful on your body. I'm so jealous," sighed Chandra.
"Really, don't be."
After hair and make up was done Lisa really felt like she had been transformed from an ugly duckling to a swan.
She hardly recognized herself in front of the mirror.
The door opened and it was Bane with a glass of fruit juice with two small triangular cucumber sandwiches on a small plate.
Just then her belly grumbled and Lisa gratefully accepted since she had slept during the lunch hour that day.
Chandra smiled, "You are so lucky to have the boss bring you a plate."
"I'm only trying to be helpful," he told Chandra while his eyes raked Lisa's body. "I agree she is a beauty and she is lucky that it was I who noticed her absence and not my brother. When it comes to his pet projects my brother doesn't joke around."
"I'm thankful," Lisa muttered.
She didn't want to come off as a smart aleck or ungrateful but there was just something about Bane that made her want to keep her guard up around him.
When she was done nibbling on the sandwiches Bane said, "By the way, I will speak to Vivica about her negligence where you were concerned," Bane went on. "Don't worry about Tristan noticing he'll be too busy to be upset that you weren't in the line up and if anyone asks just tell them to speak to me."
"Why would Tristan be upset?"
