Standing next to me was an elf with light green hair and green eyes; he looked simply beautiful. With his voice he could easily make any woman fall in love with him. I was sitting in my chair, eating like an animal, gulping down each and every dish that the lady in the kitchen brought me. Everything the lady brought me was delicacies of the highest order. No matter how much I ate, my stomach showed no signs of filling up. The reason for this was due to my metabolism. D had control over everything I ate. I didn't know how he did it, but everything that entered my mouth was converted into energy. Thanks to this, I didn't need to go to the bathroom.
"So, Angrod decided to keep his word."
"Yes, Lord Angrod does not wish to alienate you, but this gift is a small token of his sincerity."
On the table he was sitting at was a jet black suit, and on top of the suit was a golden ring with strange symbols engraved on it.
"What is that ring?"
"That's a dimensional ring; it's used to store all kinds of objects. To use it, you just need to put a little bit of mana into it. Inside is the beast that the suit was made from. There are also five blue lotus flowers. That lotus was used in the sweets you ate earlier. The lotus is not eaten; it must be diluted with other products to be ingested."
"I see, Angrod did an excellent job. Tell him I'll do my part."
"Understood, with your permission, I'm leaving."
After that messenger left, I put the suit and the ring away in the bucket. At first I thought the ring would be useless to me, but D suggested other possible ways to use it.
"Well, it's about time I went to that city. I took more time than necessary in this kingdom."
Standing up, I said loudly for the lady who gave me food to hear; I was sure she would report this to Angrod.
"Thank you very much for the meal, madam; it was delicious."
The lady nodded; I could see a smile on her aged face. The lady had completely white hair. It was more than clear that she was already quite old. After I finished thanking the lady, I walked out of the kitchen. I could no longer see anyone following me like before. It seems that Angrod was serious; he didn't seem to have any desire to antagonize me. Without wasting any time, I walked towards the castle exit. No one stood in my way; I just walked until I reached the castle exit. To exit the castle I had to go through a large door that was guarded by two elves who were quite tall. The elf on my left had blonde hair and golden eyes, the one on my right had blonde hair, but a bit dull, and his eye color was brown. The height of both of them was over 1.90 meters; they were quite tall. Their mana capacity was no joke; they were just a bit below Idril. Arriving in front of the two, I said in a voice loud enough for both to hear:
"Open the doors. I'm going out."
After inspecting me with their gaze, they both looked at each other's faces and nodded. Afterwards, they both proceeded to push the large doors open. When the large door opened completely, I thanked them and walked out of the palace. As I looked at the scenery, I was amazed; everything my eyes saw was simply beautiful: water fountains, a huge and very well-kept garden. If I had to describe what my eyes saw, then I would say it was a paradise. The beautiful butterflies of various colors, the beautiful glow of the sun, a lake that looked magical, an absurd amount of masses flying across the sky.
"What are those things?"
- THEY ARE ELEMENTARY, THEY SEEM TO HAVE NO LINK.
"There are too many."
- THEY ARE DIFFERENT FROM THE ELEMENTALS BEFORE; MOST OF THEM SEEM TO BE ACTING AS SECURITY CAMERAS. OTHERS ARE DESPERATELY SEARCHING FOR A LINK.
'Oh, right, you can understand what those elementals are saying.'
- YEAH.
'Ask them if anyone wants to come with me.'
- GIVE ME A MOMENT.
After waiting for about a minute, I received a reply from D.
- MOST SAY NO.
'Oh really?'
- YES, THEY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH US.
'Well, it doesn't really matter.'
After being rejected by the elementals in the sky, I prepared to leave this realm once and for all, but just then something unexpected happened.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
"What the fuck?"
The earth around me shook wildly; I fell to the ground from the sudden change around me.
- WARNING: ACCORDING TO THE ELEMENTALS, THE REALM'S BARRIER HAS BEEN BROKEN AND THE HERO ANGROD'S PALACE HAS BEEN TAKEN. A BARRIER PREVENTS ACCESS TO THE PALACE.
Lying on the ground, I listened to D's report. I already had an idea who the jokers were. After the earthquake calmed down, I quickly stood up. The tremors only lasted a couple of minutes, but the destruction around me was no joke; what was once a beautiful landscape went to shit.
'What motherfuckers, are you trying to commit mass murder or what?'
- WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO?
'I guess I have a promise to keep before I go.'
- UNDERSTOOD.
'Do you know where that guy is?'
- HE IS LIKELY TO BE FOUND IN THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED PALACE OR AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE KINGDOM, FIGHTING WITH THE ELF CALLED IDRIL.
'Oh, so Idril is at the entrance to the kingdom.'
- YES, ACCORDING TO THE ELEMENTALS, SHE IS WINNING THE BATTLE. THE ATTACKERS HAVE NO CHANCE AGAINST HER.
'Well, that was to be expected.'
I originally planned to find the guy Gardolak mentioned before I came to this place, but it seems he was faster. After a while of contemplation, I said:
'Ask the elementals where Angrod's palace is. I'm going to visit that place first.'
- UNDERSTOOD.
At the same time, in a huge palace covered by a giant black semi-transparent barrier, multiple figures surrounded the barrier. Some stabbed at the barrier in an attempt to break it, but their attempts all resulted in failure; the barrier showed no signs of cracking no matter how many attacks it received. It was more than obvious that the people responsible for creating such a thing prepared themselves meticulously. An elf who stood out from the rest spoke:
"How are you doing? Have the wizards found a way to dismantle the barrier yet?"
The elf's voice echoed throughout the surroundings; every time he spoke, the 100 elves under his command trembled whenever they heard his imposing voice. A short elf approached him; he didn't seem to be affected by the elf's imposing presence.
"Commander, the mages are still trying to analyze the barrier and find an effective method of dismantling it."
"Fingolfin, what about that tool?"
"Eru, you know very well that that thing is kept by the royal family and it is not known exactly which member has it."
"I understand. What about Idril?"
"He's already been informed of the situation at the palace, but I doubt he'll be coming anytime soon; the number of beasts hasn't decreased since the fighting began, I don't understand how they do it."
"What about the noble houses?"
"According to a recent report, they appear to be in a similar, but different situation at the same time."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, except for the beasts that are being killed by Idril, the beasts that are attacking the other noble houses seem to be unfazed by anything; no matter how much they are attacked, they keep getting back up."
"Beasts that don't die?"
"Yes, and we still don't know how they entered the territories without being detected by the elementals."
"And they still haven't located the beast tamer?"
"No, there is no trace of the tamer."
"Things are going to get ugly if we don't find him soon."
Eru knew better than anyone how annoying beast tamers were when they hid. He didn't show it, but he was eager to go to the battlefield and tear the enemies of his kingdom to pieces. The only reason he hadn't moved from his current position yet was because he suspected that the invading leader had infiltrated Angrod's palace. He wasn't worried; he knew firsthand the strength of the person they call the kingdom's hero.
