After landing a good hit on the guy, I spoke to the elemental:
'Go away, fighting with dead weights can get me killed.'
Of course, the dead weight I was talking about was the elf girl. If by any chance she was taken hostage, we were going to have a bad time.
- Understood.
After answering me, the elemental quickly gathered as much energy as it could and manifested air currents that swirled around the girl. Soon after, the girl's body shot off in the direction of the entrance to the elven kingdom; beside her was the elemental leading the escape.
"Ha, they finally left me alone."
Turning around, I could see the guy swallowing a strange liquid. He was lying on the ground, but shortly after taking the liquid he got up as if nothing had happened.
- IT IS A RECOVERY POTION. IT GRADUALLY HEALS EXTERNAL WOUNDS.
'I see.'
The guy, after getting up, started laughing like a maniac. His gaze was fixed on me.
"I admit it, you are strong, monster."
"Yes, I would like to say that I am the strongest, but I would be lying."
"Why do you protect the elf princess?"
"On a whim."
"What did you say?"
"On a whim."
Hearing my words, the subject's face twisted slightly.
"Is there any way we can not fight?"
"Yes, you just have to let the elf girl go and guide me to your city."
"You make it difficult for me."
"Well, let's get started then. I warn you in advance: you will never forget what I'm going to do to you."
"Same here, monster disguised as a child."
Without further ado, we both fired at each other. This time I was only using 'heart of ice' to increase my physical capabilities, but unfortunately for me, my small body couldn't keep up with my opponent.
Boom!
Boom!
Not even 5 seconds had passed and I had already been slammed into a nearby tree. The guy I was fighting punched me hard in the face, and as for my punch, it didn't reach him; my arms were too short.
"Hahaha, someone seems to not know how to fight hand to hand."
"Nice hit."
The guy was a tough nut to crack in hand-to-hand combat; he easily outclassed me. While my speed was almost equal to his, his experience had me on the ropes. If I used 'cut', the fight would undoubtedly be over in an instant, but the idea was to beat the guy up and subdue him.
'D, we'll be fighting a battle of attrition. We'll only be using 'Heart of Ice', 'Iron Skin' and 'Regeneration'.'
- UNDERSTOOD.
Standing up as if nothing had happened, I proceeded to lunge at the guy again. The scene of me getting beaten up was repeated countless times. The next day, a little girl could be seen floating lightly in the air and a transparent mass beside her.
- We're almost back, young lady.
"Mr. Flurris, will he be okay?"
- That doesn't matter now.
"Mr. Flurris..."
- That human is dangerous, miss.
"A dangerous human saved my life?"
- Correct.
The girl, after regaining her composure, began to worry about the human who had helped her. It was the first time she had seen such a small and beautiful human. His blue eyes stayed in her mind and his beautiful white hair caught her attention a lot. She wanted to talk to him, but Flurris didn't let her; he always made some excuse not to let her have a conversation with him. It was the first time someone had gotten so close to her; in the palace they only let her interact with the maids. Being a princess, they made sure nothing would harm her. She had been told countless tales of humans, how evil and scary they could be, but they didn't tell her there were exceptions.
- Yes, we finally arrived at our destination.
After long hours of traveling, the barrier of the elven kingdom was finally in sight. Without letting down his guard, Flurris increased his speed to the maximum and, when they got close enough to the barrier, they were greeted by 10 elves guarding the entrance. The guards' faces were of pure surprise.
"Welcome, Princess Lia. We are glad you are well."
The 10 elves immediately knelt down and saluted the princess. Soon after, without wasting any time, one of the guards immediately went out to report the situation to the superiors. Soon after, the princess was escorted into the kingdom by 5 guards; the rest stayed behind. The guard who had gone out earlier to report to his superiors soon arrived in front of a large gate guarded by two elves.
"I bring information of utmost importance for your majesty."
Kneeling in front of the great door, he soon heard an imposing voice.
"Forward."
After the imposing voice spoke, the two guards pushed open the large doors and the informant stood up and entered the large room. Entering the room, he soon saw 11 individuals staring at him from their seats. Noticing the gazes, he immediately knelt down. Soon, an imposing voice spoke.
"What do you have to report?"
The person speaking was the king of the elves, Maedhros Silverlight.
"The princess has appeared; she is currently being examined by a group of top-ranking healing mages."
"Who rescued her?"
"We have not yet received the information, Your Majesty. Flurris has refused to discuss the matter; she says she will only share the information with the royal family."
"I see."
Maedhros knew that if Flurris didn't want to talk, it must be sensitive information, information that should only be known to the royal family.
"The meeting is postponed until further notice."
With those words, Maedhros left the room he was in, leaving behind the 10 most influential people in the elven kingdom.
"Guide me."
"Understood, your majesty."
The informant soon left the area along with the king. After leaving the palace they were in, the king soon moved to the palace the royal family lived in. He arrived instantly thanks to a ring-shaped artifact that allowed him to teleport to certain locations, which in this case were the different palaces. The cost for using the artifact was that it consumed a large amount of mana. His face showed indifference on the outside, but the reality was that on the inside he wanted to see his little girl soon. After walking through the royal palace, he soon arrived at his destination. He saw a large wooden door; on it were two guards who, upon seeing him, immediately bowed in greeting.
"Welcome, your majesty."
"Welcome, your majesty."
"Open the doors."
After Maedhros' words, the two guards pushed open the heavy wooden doors. Soon he could see what he had come for. Entering the large room, he saw his little daughter unharmed; beside her was his wife who was crying with joy as she held her tightly in an embrace. Also in the room were his father, the former king, his wife's sister, and the wind elemental in charge of protecting his daughter.
"Honey, our daughter is safe and sound."
The first to speak was the king's wife, Queen Eryn. The queen couldn't stop crying as she hugged her little girl; with her eyes looking at her husband, she urged him to hug his daughter. She knew how reserved Maedhros was in front of his father; he didn't want to show signs of weakness in front of his father. Soon after, Maedhros was forced by his wife's gaze and lovingly hugged his daughter, who had been through a lot. This lasted for several minutes; the little girl thought she was going to be killed by his hugs. After a while, Maedhros spoke:
"What happened? Flurris, explain it to me in great detail."
- King Maedhros, you see, what happened was...
After a long explanation, Flurris told them what the humans had done to the princess. The faces of everyone in the room were constantly changing; anger and helplessness was what they felt. They couldn't do anything to prevent what happened to Lia. Flurris only told them the part that didn't involve a certain human. She was hesitating whether to tell it or not, but unfortunately for her, Lia got ahead of her:
"Father, a human saved me from those evil humans."
"??????"
"??????"
"??????"
"??????"
Everyone was shocked by what they heard. Everyone thought they had heard wrong. Everyone looked at each other for confirmation of whether they had heard correctly.
"Honey, what did you just say? Repeat it for Mom one more time."
"A human with white hair and blue eyes saved me. Flurris saw it too."
With that statement from Lia, Flurris was caught in everyone's gaze. He had no choice but to speak.
