Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Last Dragon on Earth

Tonight, Jiangcheng is particularly restless.

The howling wind and torrential rain have kept many people awake.

In a small village on the outskirts of Jiangcheng, the area is brightly lit by car headlights.

"This is a real dragon, a real dragon!" An expert in his fifties adjusted his glasses, unable to hide his excitement.

"To be precise, it's a dragon corpse," a young man beside him shook his head and couldn't help but whisper, "I never thought dragons really existed in this world."

The blue dragon was dozens of meters long, with many of its scales torn apart, and a faint burnt smell lingered in the air.

The sky was overcast with dark clouds, and thunder rumbled, as if the heavens were about to tear apart.

Many local experts and wealthy individuals had come to witness the dragon's remains firsthand.

However, no one noticed the young man standing beneath the massive dragon corpse.

He looked up at the dragon's body, his calm expression betraying an indescribable sense of regret.

"I didn't expect to fail this time, not even able to preserve my physical form," he muttered, glancing down at the unfamiliar body he now inhabited, a bitter smile creeping onto his face.

He was the last dragon on Earth, having undergone three thousand eight hundred tribulations without success in ascending to the heavens. Now, only his lingering spirit remained, attached to this unfamiliar young man.

Other dragons had successfully ascended to the divine realm tens of thousands of years ago; only he had failed time and again, until he was left all alone.

In this era, dragons were no longer seen.

"Qin Fei, what are you doing here!" At that moment, a sharp voice suddenly rang in his ear.

Turning around, he saw a graceful and beautiful woman glaring at him.

Her teeth were clenched, and her eyes sparkled with uncontrollable anger, resembling a furious lion.

"I've been looking for you everywhere! Is this a place you can come to? You can't step out of the Su family without my permission!"

"Hey, what's this? You useless piece of trash want to see a real dragon?" At that moment, another young man approached.

His gaze was frivolous, and he smiled casually, "Su Yu, your husband is quite something! Instead of staying at home, he dares to come out here?"

Su Yu gritted her teeth, feeling frustrated to have such a useless husband as Qin Fei.

Qin Fei was the laughingstock of the Su family, and they had never allowed him to step outside, fearing he would embarrass them.

"Get back home right now!" Su Yu bit her lip and said, "Otherwise, you'll never set foot in the Su family again!"

Qin Fei glanced down at his body, thinking to himself, "Looks like this body belongs to a freeloader."

However, he didn't care; having lived for over ten thousand years, he had long since become indifferent to such things.

Besides, after so many failures in his ascension attempts, he had grown accustomed to mockery.

"I'll go back now," Qin Fei said nonchalantly, then couldn't help but turn back to glance at his dragon body one last time.

"I wonder when I can restore my true form," he sighed deeply.

The number of vehicles nearby was increasing, and many prominent individuals had rushed to the scene after hearing the news.

These wealthy people, usually high and mighty, were now bowing and paying homage to the real dragon, praying for their fortunes.

"Old Li, what happened to you!" Suddenly, a commotion erupted nearby.

Looking over, he saw a nearly seventy-year-old man collapsed on the ground, his face pale.

Beside him stood a young girl, her face filled with panic.

"Is there a doctor! Is there a doctor!" The young girl cried out desperately.

The surrounding crowd exchanged glances, wanting to help but feeling powerless.

"I can give it a try." At that moment, Su Yu gritted her teeth and stepped forward, bending down to check the old man's heartbeat.

"Are you a doctor?" the young girl asked, looking at Su Yu with fear.

The people around quickly reassured her, "Miss Li, don't worry! Su Yu is the best doctor around here; she can definitely save Old Li."

"You must save my grandfather! The Li family will not forget your kindness!" the young girl urged, grabbing Su Yu's arm.

"Li family? The Jiangcheng Li family?" someone exclaimed in surprise.

Su Yu remained silent, grabbing Old Li's wrist and shaking it. Then she furrowed her brow and said, "Old Li has fainted due to insufficient blood supply to the carotid artery."

"What should we do?" Miss Li asked, panic evident in her voice.

Su Yu frowned. "It's a bit far from the hospital. I can only manually assist him for now. You all come over and help!"

Old Li was the wealthiest man in Jiangcheng; saving him was a great opportunity, so people rushed to assist.

Following Su Yu's instructions, two young men held Old Li's shoulders while Su Yu placed her hands on his neck and gently pulled upward.

"He's not suffering from insufficient blood supply to the carotid artery; what you're doing won't help at all." At this moment, Qin Fei couldn't help but shake his head.

Upon hearing this, the crowd immediately turned to look at Qin Fei.

"Qin Fei, why are you still here?" Su Yu snapped at him, anger boiling over.

He was useless on a normal day, and now he was creating chaos at such a critical moment.

If something happened to Old Li, the Su family would be finished.

"Are you a doctor?" Miss Li furrowed her brow and asked.

"He's nothing," a young man sneered. "He's a well-known loser, a freeloader living off his wife."

Hearing this, Su Yu felt even more frustrated and anxious, scolding Qin Fei in a moment of desperation, "If you don't leave now, we're getting a divorce!"

Seeing this, Qin Fei didn't say anything more and stepped aside.

Just then, he clearly saw a dark aura on Old Li's forehead. This dark aura was not from anywhere else; it originated from his own dragon corpse.

If it wasn't removed in time, Old Li would surely die.

"Cough, cough!" After a short time of manual assistance, Old Li suddenly began to cough violently.

Hearing the sound, Miss Li was overjoyed and rushed to embrace Old Li, exclaiming, "Grandpa, you scared me to death!"

Su Yu also let out a sigh of relief, standing up to wipe the sweat from her forehead, and cautioned, "Old Li's organs are aging, and platelet aggregation can lead to sudden illness. If severe, it could be fatal."

"What should we do?" a young man beside Miss Li asked.

Su Yu continued, "During an acute attack, you can use 0.4g of blood clotting agent, 5% glucose, or 0.9% saline for intravenous drip. You can also use cerebral circulation enhancers, pueraria root extract, and other intravenous drugs."

"Miss Su is indeed a miracle doctor!" The crowd couldn't help but applaud in admiration.

"Of course! I've treated all kinds of illnesses for a long time!"

Hearing their praises, Qin Fei couldn't help but chime in, "He's not suffering from insufficient blood supply to the carotid artery but rather because of the death aura from the dragon corpse. If it's not removed within ten minutes, this old man is doomed."

"What are you talking about?" The young man approached and grabbed Qin Fei by the collar.

The crowd laughed at him, "Qin Fei, you must be out of your mind! You're a useless waste; what do you know about medicine?"

"Don't you know your wife's medical skills? Spouting nonsense here!"

"He obviously doesn't know. I heard that Qin Fei's marriage with Su Yu is just for show; they probably haven't even touched each other yet."

Their comments reached Su Yu's ears, and she felt both ashamed and angry. Finally, she couldn't help but shoot a cold glance at Qin Fei, saying, "Qin Fei, we'll go file for divorce tomorrow."

Qin Fei was not entirely clueless; he glanced at his watch and murmured, "There are nine minutes left; believe it or not."

With that, he turned and walked away.

"Finally, that useless waste is gone," Su Yu sighed in relief as she watched Qin Fei's departing figure.

The crowd's attention shifted back to the dragon corpse.

At that moment, Old Li suddenly let out a mournful cry and collapsed again.

This time, it was more severe; his face turned pale, and his breathing and heartbeat weakened drastically.

"What's happening?" The young man beside Miss Li's eyes widened in alarm as he stepped toward Su Yu.

"I... I don't know! Maybe the illness has flared up again," Su Yu said, lacking confidence.

The young man glared at her and said coldly, "If something happens to my grandfather, I won't let you off!"

Su Yu realized he wasn't just making threats. In her panic, she had no choice but to try again.

However, five minutes passed, and Old Li showed no signs of improvement; instead, his condition worsened.

Black spots began to appear on Old Li's forehead, and his life force seemed to be rapidly dissipating.

"Do you know how to treat him or not?" The young man approached Su Yu and slapped her across the face.

Su Yu covered her face, feeling somewhat wronged as she replied, "I can only treat this illness; I don't know what else to do!"

"Li Hang, go find that young man from earlier. Maybe he was right," Miss Li frowned and said.

"Miss Li, don't joke around! Qin Fei is a useless waste; how could he treat an illness?" a rogue sneered.

The young man shot him a cold glance and asked, "Then why don't you treat my grandfather's illness?"

The rogue's face flushed with embarrassment, and he awkwardly replied, "I don't know how to treat any illness; don't joke with me, Young Master Li."

"Then shut up!" Li Hang said coldly.

With that, he hurried off in pursuit of Qin Fei.

Meanwhile, Qin Fei sat not far away, waiting for the Li family.

"There are three minutes left," he murmured as he glanced at his watch.
