Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The University Reunion

Su Yu's expression changed slightly as she urged, "Quick, back the car up!"

But it was too late; He Yong and his group approached with mocking smiles.

He knocked on the car window, signaling Qin Fei to get out.

Qin Fei rolled down the window and smiled, "Do you need something?"

"What do you think?" He Yong threw his cigarette butt to the ground, glaring fiercely at Qin Fei. "Because of you, my girlfriend lost her job. How do you plan to take responsibility for this?"

"He Yong, you better not make any trouble, or I'll call the police!" Su Yu said, a hint of fear in her voice.

He Yong smirked, snatching Su Yu's phone from her hand and tossing it aside. "I have to repay this grudge today. If I don't, how can I face myself in the future?" After that, he pulled Wang Yan into his arms, looking down at Qin Fei with a sense of superiority.

Qin Fei sighed and turned to Su Yu. "You should go back."

"What about you?" Su Yu frowned tightly.

"I'll talk to him," Qin Fei said with a smile.

"No way!" Su Yu rejected him immediately, without hesitation.

The group clearly wasn't friendly. If she stayed, who knew what might happen?

Qin Fei replied, "Listen, what's the point of you being here? Look at those guys; they're eyeing you like a hawk."

At her words, Su Yu turned pale with fear.

This place was desolate, and with Su Yu's beauty, if she fell into their hands...

Just then, Qin Fei stepped out of the car and addressed He Yong. "Since Young Master He is looking for me, I trust you won't make things difficult for a woman, right?"

"Don't worry; I never hit women," He Yong replied with a faint smile.

Qin Fei nodded, then turned to Su Yu. "Go home quickly; I'll be fine."

Su Yu bit her lip and said, "Wait for me; I'll be right back!"

She climbed into the driver's seat and quickly drove away.

"Kid, it's useless to call the police here," a scar-faced man behind He Yong sneered. "You don't know who I am, do you?"

"Stop talking nonsense. I want his leg," He Yong said.

The scar-faced man rubbed his hands together, saying, "Don't worry; no problem at all."

With that, the seven or eight men walked toward Qin Fei.

He Yong stepped back a bit, proudly stating, "How's that? Feeling any better now?"

Wang Yan responded with a playful tone, "If only that Su Yu hadn't escaped."

"Don't worry; after dealing with her, there will be plenty of opportunities," He Yong replied with a cold smile.

At that moment, the scar-faced man stood right in front of Qin Fei, swinging a stick and grinning as he said, "Kid, just endure a bit; it won't hurt too much."

As soon as he finished speaking, he raised the stick and swung it toward Qin Fei's head.

In an instant, Qin Fei raised his hand, grabbing the stick effortlessly. With a light tug, the stick snapped in two.

Then, with lightning speed, Qin Fei seized the scar-faced man's arm and twisted it violently, completing a horrific arc.

Before the man could scream, Qin Fei sent him flying several meters away with a slap.

"Just endure; it won't hurt too much," Qin Fei said, grinning playfully.

Scar-faced gritted his teeth and yelled, "Get him!"

The seven or eight big men were still in shock, but at the command, they snapped back to reality and charged at Qin Fei.

Qin Fei, uninterested in wasting time, dealt with each of them swiftly. In under half a minute, all seven or eight were sprawled on the ground.

Li Yong stared in disbelief, his mouth agape.

"How is this possible?!" he exclaimed in terror, stepping back.

Everyone nearby knew that Qin Fei was notorious for being useless. He couldn't even lift a knife to kill a chicken.

Yet now, his skills were jaw-dropping.

"Don't be afraid; I only want your leg," Qin Fei said with a grin.

As he spoke, he suddenly kicked Li Yong's knee, and with a crack, his right leg bent unnaturally.

"Ah!!" Li Yong covered his leg, kneeling on the ground in agony, his face twisted with pain.

"Don't hit me!" Wang Yan cried, her eyes welling with tears as she looked ready to beg for mercy.

Qin Fei stared coldly at her and said, "I'll let you off this time, but I warn you, if you dare to trouble Su Yu again..."

Though he didn't explicitly say it, Wang Yan nodded vigorously.

"I won't dare! I'll never do it again!" Wang Yan trembled, collapsing to the ground.

Qin Fei hummed a tune as he walked home. When he arrived, Su Yu was anxiously looking around by the front door.

When she saw Qin Fei return, she rushed over, asking, "How was it? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. I just ran into Li Hang and resolved the matter," Qin Fei casually made up an excuse. "By the way, your phone."

Su Yu sighed in relief. After receiving her phone, she muttered, "I didn't expect Wang Yan to be so vengeful; we need to be careful from now on."

Back at home, Zhao Ya and Su Ziping were sitting on the sofa watching television, clearly unaware of what had transpired.

Seeing Qin Fei return, Zhao Ya sarcastically remarked, "I hope Qin Fei didn't cause you any trouble this afternoon."

Su Yu shook her head repeatedly, quickly changing the subject. "Oh, by the way, I was promoted to supervisor at the clinic today, and my salary increased by two thousand."

Upon hearing this, Su Ziping immediately exclaimed, praising Su Yu for her accomplishments.

Meanwhile, the elderly couple looked increasingly impatient with Qin Fei.

Their daughter was so exceptional, yet she had married such a useless man. It was clear they regretted their decision.

"What are you standing there for? Show some initiative! Hurry and cook a couple of dishes; we should celebrate this evening!" Zhao Ya said impatiently.

"No need," Su Yu quickly waved her hand. "We're having a class reunion this afternoon, so we won't be eating at home."

"Oh, is that so?" Zhao Ya nodded. "Then you'd better make some appetizers for your father before you just stand there."

"Qin Fei is coming with me this evening," Su Yu said, a little uncertain.

Zhao Ya and Su Ziping were taken aback.

Su Yu had always been afraid to let anyone know she was married to such a useless husband. She wouldn't even walk closely with him in public.

Suddenly, why had things changed?

"Then maybe I won't go," Qin Fei offered, concerned he would make Su Yu uncomfortable.

Su Yu shot him a glare. "Shut up! If I say you're coming, then you're coming!"

Seeing her determination, Qin Fei didn't argue further and agreed.

As they left, Zhao Ya specifically reminded Qin Fei to keep quiet and not embarrass Su Yu.

The two got into the car and headed to the city center.

The city center was much more bustling, with people dressed exquisitely filling the streets.

Observing the scene, Qin Fei couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia.

Over the past few thousand years, society had changed tremendously.

The car stopped in front of a restaurant called "Yiyuanju." As soon as they got out, they noticed several young men and women standing at the entrance, next to a black Mercedes-Benz.

"Su Yu, you finally made it! We've been waiting for you for ages!" A tall, handsome young man approached with a smile.

This young man, named Wei Shengping, had pursued Su Yu during university, but she had always kept him at arm's length.

He glanced at Qin Fei with surprise, asking, "Who's this?"

"Oh, I'm her husband," Qin Fei introduced himself.

The young man shook Qin Fei's hand and said, "I didn't know Mr. Qin was here. What do you do?"

Qin Fei awkwardly scratched his head. "I'm currently unemployed, looking for a job."

Laughter erupted from the group, and the mockery in their gazes was evident.

Wei Shengping smirked slightly. "So you're living off your wife, huh?"

"Something like that," Qin Fei admitted without hesitation.

"Then let Wei get you a job! He's started his own company!" Su Yu's old classmate, Xia Qing, chimed in cheerfully.

"Don't joke about it. I heard this Qin Fei can't do anything; there's no way he'd fit in at my company," someone else added dismissively.

"Cleaning is still better than sitting at home doing nothing," another quipped.

"I remember that Wei Shengping pursued Su Yu back in college, right? Why not just leave Qin Fei and be with Wei?" someone teased.

After that, Xia Qing laughed and added, "I'm kidding, of course. Mr. Qin won't take offense, right?"

Qin Fei couldn't help but scoff. University reunions were typically about showing off wealth, and he could see it was true.

"Alright, let's get to the meal," Su Yu said, unable to listen any longer.

Wei Shengping replied, "Yiyuanju is always packed. I had to pull some strings to reserve a private room. I'll treat you all today, but don't try to take advantage of me!"

"Don't worry; Wei's a big boss now, so we'll make sure to enjoy ourselves!"

With that, the group headed inside Yiyuanju.

At the front desk, Wei Shengping presented a card with pride, saying, "Golden card, I have a reservation."

The receptionist checked the card on the computer and shook her head. "I'm sorry, but this private room has been booked by someone else."

"What?" Wei Shengping fumed, "What kind of joke is this? This is a golden card; did you even check?"

The receptionist smiled politely, "I'm sorry, sir. A platinum member just reserved this room, and as you know, Yiyuanju doesn't accept reservations."

Wei Shengping was furious; he had wanted to impress Su Yu today, but now he faced this setback.

"Then just give us another room; that should be possible, right?" Wei Shengping frowned.

"I'm sorry, but all the private rooms are fully booked today," the receptionist said with her signature smile.

At that moment, another guest entered the restaurant, holding out a black bank card to the receptionist. "I'd like to reserve a private room for five."

"Sure, please wait a moment," the receptionist replied cheerfully.

Wei Shengping scowled. "What does this mean? Aren't there still rooms available?"

The receptionist, slightly impatient, replied, "This gentleman has a limited edition black card, which entitles him to exclusive rooms. If you had one, I could reserve a room for you as well!"

"Those black cards are usually issued to people who earn over ten million a year," Xia Qing whispered. "Wei probably doesn't meet that standard."

"Why not just find another place?" Su Yu suggested.

"Such a pity; I've never been to Yiyuanju," Xia Qing sighed. "We could wait a little longer."

"Yiyuanju's ingredients are indeed delicious, but they close at ten, so we might not make it," Su Yu pointed out.

"Then we'll just have to find another place," the group murmured in disappointment.

Wei Shengping could only awkwardly say, "Next time, I'll make sure to treat you all to Yiyuanju."

Just then, Qin Fei stepped forward and asked the receptionist, "Is it possible to reserve a room with that black card?"

The receptionist sized Qin Fei up, a mocking smile appearing on her face. "Yes, sir. Our restaurant has specially designated high-end rooms for cardholders, but as far as I know, there aren't many in Jiangcheng."

Qin Fei smiled; Old Li had just given him one of those cards, and he hadn't expected it to come in handy so soon.
