Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Sickly Old Man Li

The sky remained overcast, and Qin Fei looked up, sighing deeply.

"I wonder when I can return to my dragon form," he thought to himself.

Dragons had always been a legend on Earth, but Qin Fei had witnessed the age of dragons firsthand.

In this century, as humanity thrived and spiritual energy waned, true dragons would no longer appear.

Just then, dazzling headlights flickered in the distance. Soon, a black Mercedes-Benz came to a stop right in front of Qin Fei.

"Let's go," he said, rising and brushing off the dirt from his clothes before Li Hang could say anything.

Li Hang was startled. Did this young man somehow anticipate that he would come looking for him?

Without further thought, the two got into the car and quickly headed back.

As they neared their destination, Li Hang suddenly slowed down, turning to glare at Qin Fei. "If anything happens to my grandfather, I swear I'll make the entire Su family disappear from this Earth."

Qin Fei remained unfazed and glanced at his cheap watch, saying, "In two minutes, even if a celestial being descended, it wouldn't be able to save your grandfather."

Li Hang's expression changed immediately, and he slammed on the gas pedal.

Before long, they exited the car.

"This useless fool actually came back," Su Yu remarked, glaring at Qin Fei, her teeth clenched in frustration.

The Li family held significant status; if Old Li were to die because of Qin Fei, it would undoubtedly spell disaster for the Su family.

"Forget it. We'll just distance ourselves from this later; don't let it affect the Su family." Su Yu reassured herself internally.

Still, she felt uneasy. Could she genuinely abandon Qin Fei?

"Qin Fei, do you really dare to act like a big shot here?" a rogue sneered as he approached. "Aren't you afraid your wife will make you kneel on the washboard when you go home?"

Laughter erupted from those nearby, as no one held any hope for Qin Fei. They all seemed eager to see him make a fool of himself.

Qin Fei shot him a glance and replied to Li Hang, "Mr. Li, I need quiet while practicing medicine; please keep some people quiet."

Upon hearing this, Li Hang turned around, his expression cold. "If you say one more word, I'll sew your mouth shut. Got that?"

The rogue didn't dare to create any more trouble, instead nodding awkwardly in response.

But the mocking gaze in his eyes didn't escape Qin Fei's notice.

Qin Fei approached Old Li, who was now covered in dark spots, the corpse energy from the dragon nearly enveloping him entirely.

He raised his hands and placed them on Old Li's chest, applying gentle pressure.

Seeing Qin Fei's technique, Su Yu felt a headache coming on.

This was merely basic chest compressions, suitable for emergencies but ineffective for actual treatment.

At this point, Old Li was nearly out of breath; how could chest compressions make a difference?

Moreover, chest compressions required a rate of 80 to 100 compressions per minute to be effective—Qin Fei's slow pace would hardly save anyone!

Li Hang and Miss Li also frowned, concerned.

"Are you sure you know how to treat this?" Miss Li asked, her displeasure evident.

Qin Fei replied expressionlessly, "If you want your grandfather to survive, keep your mouth shut."

Miss Li was left speechless. As the granddaughter of the city's wealthiest man, she had never been treated this way before.

But for the sake of Old Li, she could only endure it.

Qin Fei was not performing chest compressions; having lived for thousands of years, he had seen the evolution of medical practices across China. How could he not understand medicine?

At this moment, he aimed to expel the corpse energy through his palms.

Black energy swirled out from Qin Fei's hands, and in no time, a majority of it flowed into his own body.

"Cough, cough!"

Suddenly, Qin Fei began to cough violently, his hands instinctively pulling away from Old Li's body.

He felt pale, weak, and dizzy, as if he might collapse at any moment.

"This body is too weak," Qin Fei muttered to himself. He had intended to draw out all of Old Li's corpse energy in one go, but the frailty of his current form hindered him.

Quickly, he clasped several acupoints on Old Li's chest and let out a sigh of relief.

The corpse energy could not flow into the heart and was forced to disperse throughout other parts of the body. Consequently, the black spots on Old Li's skin became more pronounced.

As they watched the dark spots on Old Li's body grow worse, Li Hang and Miss Li's expressions turned increasingly grim.

"What's happening to my grandfather?" Miss Li cried, leaning over him with a worried face.

"Do you really know how to treat him or not?" Li Hang charged forward, grabbing Qin Fei by the collar, as if ready to strike.

Qin Fei replied flatly, "The corpse energy is temporarily sealed. You'll need to bring him back tomorrow for a complete removal."

"Ah!" At that moment, Old Li suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood, and his face grew even paler.

Li Hang, forgetting all about Qin Fei, rushed to Old Li's side, his anger flaring.

"I told you he wouldn't know how to treat it!" the rogue jeered from the side.

"Seriously, a useless guy trying to show off—look where it's got him now!"

"Li Hang is right; trusting a freeloader like him is foolish."

Hearing the mockery around him, Su Yu felt a mixture of embarrassment and fear.

This was undoubtedly going to create a mess for the Su family.

"This useless thing," Su Yu gritted her teeth, walking over to pull Qin Fei's arm. "Get back home right now! You're not allowed to step out of the Su family until I say so!"

Qin Fei looked at Su Yu in surprise.

Her words seemed to be scolding him, but deep down, they were also protective.

It appeared she still had some feelings for the owner of this body.

"Old Li will be fine," Qin Fei reassured her. "Bring him back tomorrow."

Li Hang shot him a cold look. "Tomorrow? Sure, and I'll come back to settle the scores with your Su family!"

"This isn't the time to argue; hurry and take my grandfather to the hospital!" Li Hang glared at Qin Fei before turning back to Old Li.

With that, he picked up Old Li and rushed him to the car.

He paid no mind to the dragon corpse, speeding away from the scene.

"Now, this should be interesting," the rogue laughed mockingly.

"Ha, the Su family is going to be destroyed by this useless fool."

"Yeah, living off the Su family for free is one thing, but now he's dragging them down with him. What a pity!"

Hearing the derisive comments around him, Su Yu couldn't bear it anymore. She shot Qin Fei a glare and said, "Get in the car!"

Qin Fei complied and hopped into Su Yu's vehicle. Before leaving, he glanced back at his massive dragon body, his expression filled with reluctance.

Once home, Su Yu didn't rush to get out of the car. She remained in the driver's seat, seemingly sending a message to someone.

Qin Fei leaned over and asked with a smile, "Who are you messaging?"

"Mind your own business!" Su Yu snapped, her anger flaring again at Qin Fei's carefree demeanor.

This useless man clearly didn't realize the magnitude of the trouble he had caused.

"If you dare to step out of the Su family's doors again, you'll never set foot in here again!" Su Yu got out of the car, slamming the door behind her.

The Su family's villa was situated on the outskirts of the village, not far from the city center, yet far enough to avoid the city's noise—a perfect place to live.

After arriving home, Qin Fei observed an elderly couple sitting on the sofa. They were dressed in luxurious attire, showcasing their status.

These two were Su Yu's parents, Su Ziping and Zhao Ya. Su Ziping was a government official, while Zhao Ya worked in business.

"You still know how to come back?" Zhao Ya scowled upon seeing Qin Fei.

"Who allowed you to step out of the Su family's front door?"

Qin Fei casually replied, "I heard a dragon corpse was discovered and wanted to take a look."

"Look? What's there to see? You're a useless freeloader; why would you care about a dragon corpse? Does it even concern you? Why aren't you washing clothes or cleaning the floors? Thinking of rebelling?" Zhao Ya said impatiently.

Qin Fei sighed inwardly. The owner of this body truly was pathetic.

It was one thing to be ridiculed outside, but now he had to play the servant at home.

Su Yu's expression turned ugly as she contemplated whether to inform her parents about the Li family incident.

After pondering for a long time, she ultimately decided against it.

If her parents learned about this, Qin Fei would never stay in the Su family again.

Though he was useless, he had endured many hardships over the years without complaint. Even raising a pet would likely foster some attachment.

After following Zhao Ya's orders to wash the dirty laundry, Qin Fei prepared to head back to his room to sleep.

As he opened the door, he saw Su Yu lying on the bed, speaking on the phone.

She wore a loose black nightgown, which hugged her curves, accentuating her graceful figure.

Her long, fair legs crossed enticingly, making it hard for anyone to resist staring.

In this scene, anyone else might feel a rush of heat, but Qin Fei felt little.

After opening the door, he simply walked over to the bed.

"What are you doing?" Su Yu glared at him, kicking him off the bed.

Qin Fei scratched his head awkwardly. "I'm going to sleep. I've already washed the clothes; what's the problem?"

"Qin Fei, are you out of your mind? Who allowed you to share a room with me?" Su Yu's eyes widened as she looked at Qin Fei as if he were insane.

Hearing this, Qin Fei felt a sense of frustration.

People revered dragons; even a large snake would be worshipped.

Yet here he was, a true dragon, receiving such treatment.

"Perhaps this is fate," Qin Fei sighed helplessly. He looked at Su Yu and asked, "I'm a bit confused today and can't remember many things. Where's my room?"

"Next to the bathroom," Su Yu replied impatiently.

Her forehead was furrowed with worry, clearly troubled by the Li family incident.

Qin Fei reassured her, "Don't worry, the Li family won't do anything to us."

"Just get out!" The mention of this matter made Su Yu angry.

Clearly, he had no idea how much trouble he had stirred up.

Qin Fei found his room to be quite plain compared to Su Yu's, almost like a storage room.

The space was about seven or eight square meters, and aside from a bed, there was nothing else.

"This must be a storage room," Qin Fei thought, but this suited him just fine; it meant he wouldn't be disturbed.

Due to the corpse energy, he felt somewhat fatigued and quickly fell asleep after lying down.

The next day, Qin Fei woke up early, expelling a mouthful of murky black energy.

This black energy drifted out through the window, disappearing quickly.

When he exited his room, he found Zhao Ya and Su Ziping sitting on the sofa, watching the morning news.

The news broadcast was focused on the dragon corpse.

"Today, a dragon corpse was discovered near Hejia Village. Experts claim this may be the first true dragon in Chinese history, which will overturn all existing theories about dragons. The corpse has been transported to the national research department."

Qin Fei stared at the large television screen, shaking his head repeatedly.

His body bore scales as hard as iron; it would be no simple feat for anyone to break through them.

Moreover, if the corpse energy wasn't handled properly, a situation similar to Old Li's could easily arise again.

"You're just standing there? Hurry up and make breakfast! Little Yu is going to be late for work!" Zhao Ya snapped at Qin Fei, who was still standing there.

Qin Fei smiled gently. "I was just absorbed in what I was watching; sorry about that."

With that, he turned and headed toward the kitchen.

"Isn't that the bathroom? Are you planning to cook in the bathroom? After going out, I wonder if you've lost your mind?" Zhao Ya said with biting sarcasm.

Half an hour later, Qin Fei emerged from the kitchen with several bowls of noodles.

Just then, Su Yu finished washing up, her hair cascading over her shoulders, making her look even more beautiful.

Qin Fei thought to himself that the owner of this body was quite fortunate; no wonder he would rather endure humiliation than get a divorce.

"Little Yu, come eat; otherwise, you'll be late," Su Ziping called with a smile.

Su Yu's mood was quite gloomy. The thought of the day's events made her expression particularly grim.

"Dad, I'm not feeling well today; I'm taking a leave," Su Yu said numbly as she sat there.

"What's wrong? Did someone bully you? Tell Dad, and I'll take care of it!" Su Ziping asked, concern etched on his face.

Su Yu couldn't help but force a bitter smile.

Revenge? That would be against the Li family. How could she seek revenge?

"I'm fine," she said, shaking her head. She picked up her chopsticks slowly, as if it were a chore, and stuffed the noodles into her mouth.

However, after taking the first bite, her expression changed dramatically.

The noodles were not only delicate in texture but also had a warm, comforting flavor.

With each bite, she felt a soothing warmth spreading through her.

"What's wrong? Is it not good?" Qin Fei asked, laughing as he sat down.

"Did you make this?" Su Yu's face was filled with disbelief.

Qin Fei internally groaned, realizing he had messed up. He quickly found an excuse, "I was just bored at home, so I secretly looked at some recipes. How is it? Isn't the taste fantastic?"

"Not good at all," Su Yu mumbled under her breath.

Though she said this, she still wolfed down an entire bowl.

Su Ziping and Zhao Ya shared the same reaction; Su Ziping even mentioned, "This skill is enough to open a noodle shop!"

"He opens a noodle shop? He'd probably lose everything and be left with nothing!" Zhao Ya retorted, maintaining her sharp tongue.

Qin Fei chuckled and remained silent.

"Is there more?" After finishing, Su Yu shyly asked.

Qin Fei pushed his bowl toward her, saying, "You can have mine."

"What about you?" Su Yu frowned.

Before Qin Fei could respond, Zhao Ya snapped, "He does nothing but stay at home; he can afford to eat less!"

"Mom is right," Qin Fei said awkwardly.

Just as they finished breakfast, a series of urgent knocks echoed from outside.

"Early in the morning, who is it?" Zhao Ya said irritably. "Qin Fei, go open the door! Why are you just sitting there?"

"I'll go," Su Yu took a deep breath, her expression turning even grimmer.

Upon opening the door, she was greeted by a man in uniform, followed by a dozen police officers.

"Is Su Yu and Qin Fei home?" he entered, his face cold.

"I...I am," Su Yu said, her face paling.

The officer held up a document and said, "We suspect you have stolen important national artifacts. Please come with us."

"What's going on?" Su Ziping quickly stepped out of the room.

"Captain Zhang, what do you mean? When did my daughter steal national artifacts?" Su Ziping's expression darkened.

Captain Zhang chuckled, "A piece of scale is missing from the dragon corpse discovered yesterday. We suspect it was taken by you. Please come with us."

"We stole scales?" Qin Fei couldn't help but laugh. "Captain Zhang, even if you used a gun, you wouldn't be able to break through the dragon corpse! How could we possibly have the ability to steal anything?"

"Hmph, whether it's true or not, we'll find out. For now, all you need to do is come with us!" Captain Zhang replied coldly.

Su Ziping realized the gravity of the situation; someone was clearly trying to take down the Su family.

He pulled Captain Zhang aside, smiling, "Captain Zhang, there must be some misunderstanding. The Su family has always abided by the law. I have some connections with the authorities; you see—"

"No need for further discussion," Captain Zhang interrupted bluntly. "I'm here on orders from higher-ups to apprehend someone."

Just as he finished speaking, another group arrived at the Su family's residence.

Their vehicles were marked with "Anti-Corruption," and upon exiting, they inquired, "Is Su Ziping at home? You are now implicated in a corruption case; please come with us."

Su Ziping was utterly stunned. He never expected Qin Fei would stir up such a massive disaster.

At that moment, an elderly man with graying hair stepped out of a car, supported by Li Hang and Miss Li.

"Old Li, you arrived just in time! I was about to take them in," Captain Zhang rushed over to greet Old Li.

Old Li ignored Captain Zhang and anxiously asked, "Which one is Qin Fei?"
