Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Aurora James - POV

The warrior was right, I didn't have to find the pack house because as I drove down the dimly lit road, I saw a huge signboard that had an arrow pointed to the right with the pack house written under it. I took a sharp right and drove down the dirt road, which didn't have any houses, all I saw were trees on either side.

I drove for five minutes when I saw a huge building a few meters ahead of me that had all its lights turned on. It was a ten-storey building with no balconies on any of the floors. There were huge windows that faced the dirt road, and I saw a lot of people moving inside. I drove up the driveway, parked my car behind a black Lamborghini, and got down.

The people here must be rich.

"That is true, we look like beggars compared to them." Lily snickered, and if she was a person, I would have squeezed her throat right now.

"Would you shut up?" I asked her annoyed.

"It's true, I mean look around," she said, and sadly, I did, as I saw the cars parked in the driveway. "And we drive a Toyota." she mocked as I blocked her out. I locked my car and walked up the driveway towards the entrance. There was no one around, and the door was closed. I looked at the wall for some sort of a doorbell, but there was none.

Okay, Aurora, I think you might have to just walk in.

I took a deep breath and twisted the door handle and pushed the door open as I walked in. I was so preoccupied with marveling at the marble tiles, I didn't see someone right in front of me as I bumped into him.

I was about to fall to the floor when I felt his strong arms wrap around my waist, he broke my fall. "Who are you?" I heard a gruff voice as I looked up. My lips parted at the man I saw staring at me. I don't think I have ever seen a man as handsome as him. He was easily six feet tall, with wavy black hair, eyes as dark as coal, and a perfectly trimmed beard. My eyes moved lower as I saw his entire right arm adorned with tattoos.

He must definitely be a warrior with his height and build. I quickly stepped away from him. "I um…I am here for…" words got stuck in my throat, and I knew I would not be able to speak, so I took out my phone from my pocket and showed him the email.

As he read it, a smile formed on his face as he looked at me from head to toe. "I need to have a chat with Alpha Lopez. I believe he has forgotten about the passing criteria for a warrior." the warrior standing in front of me mocked. "You wouldn't even pass the height test."

"I am not short." I retorted when a smirk formed on his face.

"You sure have a death wish to come here to become a warrior," he said.

"I am not here to train as a warrior." I asserted as I felt my blood boiling anger. Well, looks like despite all that good looks it still fails to cover his rotten insides. "There must have been a blunder. And that is why I want to speak with Alpha Lopez about that." I answered, and he raised his eyebrow at me. I desperately tried to control my anger because one wrong word and I would be kicked out of this pack before I could say potatoes.

"Follow me," he said as he turned around and walked inside and I followed. The packed house was massive. There was a beautiful foyer with a large vase of fresh flowers in the center, and to my right, I saw what looked like a living room, and there was a hallway to my left from where I got a whiff of dinner.

We walked towards the staircase, and instead of using the stairs, we walked behind it, where there was an elevator. The warrior pressed the button, and soon the doors opened, and we walked inside.

As we reached the fifth floor, I walked out into a quiet hallway and followed the man till we came to a stop in front of a large oak door. I expected the warrior to knock on the door, but instead, he opened it and walked inside, and I was amazed.

No one would dare walk into an Alpha's room without knocking. "I thought I kicked you out a few minutes ago?" I heard the Alpha ask. "What are you doing in here, Adrian?"

So the asshole's name is Adrian. I think it suits him.

"I was leaving when I found something in the lost and found a box. I thought you might want to take a look." he sarcastically replied as he stepped aside so that Alpha Lopez could see me. I wanted to say something back to Adrian for referring to me as a thing, but I held my tongue.

"You must be Miss. James? It's nice to meet you." Alpha Lopez asked me with a smile on his face, and I nodded my head.

"It's nice to meet you too, Alpha Lopez," I answered.

"Did you face any issues at the beta's pack, Miss. James? Is that why you are here?"

"Well, something like that. I am not here to train as a warrior, Alpha Lopez. I only wanted to join your pack as a regular pack member." I told him when a frown formed on his face. He looked at his computer and typed something on it before he looked at me again.

"But Alpha Alonso wouldn't have recommended you with words of praise for our elite warrior group, Miss. James."

Elite warrior group! Elijah sure wants me dead. I must have bruised his ego a little too much for him to avenge me in this manner.

What do I do now?
