Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Aurora James - POV

If I go with the flow, I know I would be signing my own death wish. But if I tell him the truth, would he still take me into his pack? I began biting my lips while Alpha Lopez waited for my answer. "I can't even throw a punch to save my life, Alpha Lopez. And I am not very good at the sight of blood." I explained.

"An Alpha wouldn't praise his pack member without a reason, Miss. James." Alpha Lopez asked me.

"I know, but all I wanted was to start my life as a wedding planner in your pack. I think Alpha Alonso must have made a blunder when he mailed you." I know I can't tell anyone that Elijah was my mate, and he did this on purpose so that I would come back to his pack.

A mate bond is seen as a sacred bond, and every wolf is trained to value it, if he finds out that I rejected Elijah, there is a higher possibility that he might just send me back to Elijah. "I really want to start a life in here, Alpha Lopez. Please, give me a chance." I pleaded as I looked at him.

There were absolutely no emotions on his face, which made it hard for me to decipher what was he thinking right now. "We can take a peek at his mind," Lily suggested.

"He is an Alpha, and I don't want to risk it right now."

"Okay, but I don't have any houses that I could give you in the main pack. I allocated the last house to a couple yesterday." I felt my heart sink to the pit of my stomach as I heard this news, I desperately prayed that he would not tell me to leave. "And building a new house is costly, Miss. James."

"I will bear all the expenses, Alpha Lopez."

"Very well, but it would take three months. And I am afraid you might have to stay at the beta's pack till then," he said, and I nodded my head.

"I am fine with it," I told him.

"Good, but remember you are in a probationary period for the next three months. All our pack members are well-trained in offense and defense. And I want you to be well-versed in that as well. Which would mean you need to start training there. Are you okay with that, Miss? James?"

"Yes, Alpha Lopez."

"Great, I think we can start the process then," he said as he got up from his place made his way to his bookshelf, and took out a black file that had my name on it. "There will be a test in three months since you are not joining my pack as a mate to one of my pack members. So if you fail that, you should leave, all right?" he asked me, and I nodded my head.

He opened my file when I saw a passport-sized picture of me that was attached to the top left corner of the paper. Alpha Lopez took out a pen and signed at the bottom of the page, and he pushed the file towards me. I took the pen from him and signed it as well.

"This is only a temporary agreement between us. But once you pass the test, I will get another document ready, which would make you an official member of the Blue Moon pack, okay?"

"Thank you, Alpha Lopez," I said, and he nodded his head.

"Okay, Adrian will take you to Beta Perez's pack," he said, I nodded my head and turned around to walk away when he called out my name. "Miss. James?" I turned around when I saw a smile on his face. "Welcome to the Blue Moon pack."

As I made my way to the driver's side door of my car, I saw Adrian standing next to me with a raised eyebrow. "What?" I asked him.

"I will drive," he said when I shook my head.

"No, that's all right. I will drive, and you can sit in the passenger seat."

"Do you know where Beta Perez's pack is?" he asked me, and I shook my head.

"But you can show me the way."

"That would be time-consuming, Miss. James." he retorted, and I knew there was no point arguing with him, so I let out a sigh, gave him my keys, and took a seat in the passenger seat. Adrian started the car and reversed out of the driveway without turning back as the car swirled, and we were speeding down the road as I clutched onto my seat for dear life.

"Are you trying to kill us both?" I stammered as I tried to even my breathing, but nothing was working out right now.

"Relax, I have experience."

"And I am not your lab rat!" I almost yelled as I turned around to glare at him. "Could you please slow down?" I asked him, and he rolled his eyes at me as he decreased his speed. I felt my heartbeat come back to normal, and only then did I let go of my death grip as well. "Are you a warrior?" I asked Adrian after a pregnant pause.

"Yes."

"So you must have seen the gamma of this pack?"

"Why do you sound like he is some sort of ghost?" Adrian asked me as the playful smile lingered on his face.

"I did a little bit of research about this place before coming in here. And I did see the pictures of Alpha Lopez and maybe one or two pictures of Beta Perez as well. But I have never seen a picture of the Gamma. Have you seen him?" I know it is a stupid question, but it is too late to take it back right now.

"He likes to keep to himself. And he is not very keen on all these media, politics, and everything."

"I think there is more to this."

"And what is your theory?" Adrian asked me.

"I heard a lot of rumors claiming that he is not as good-looking as Alpha Lopez and Beta Perez, and that is why he doesn't show his face. And I also heard that he is the most ruthless person to walk the face of the earth." I said as I turned around to face him as he shook his head.

"Everyone in this pack is ruthless, Miss. James."
