Chereads / Beta Zander Perez / Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Aurora James - POV

"But I believe the gamma is a person you should be cautious about," I replied as he turned into a narrow lane.

"How can you hate a guy before you even see him?" Adrian asked me, sounding astonished as I shrugged my shoulder.

"I am not trying to offend him, but I think not all rumors are fake, Adrian. You might have heard about that since you are a part of his pack, but from an outsider's point of view, I think it is better to exercise caution."

"What rumor did you hear that makes you want to stay away from him?" Adrian asked as I looked out through the window, even though it was dark outside, I saw the small cabins that we passed by as we drove further into the pack. Each cabin was built as a two-storey building with huge glass walls finishing the architecture.

Every cabin was beautiful in its own way, but having such architecture at a pack that has warriors seemed a little odd. "He has slept with more women than you can count, and he was also the first werewolf to contract a sexually transmitted disease due to the number of one-night stands he has. But the best part was that he never looked at a woman twice." I said when I saw a faint smile on Adrian's face.

"I think the beta would suit this description better than the Gamma, Miss. James," he answered, but I didn't answer. I know Beta Perez also leads a similar life like that, but I am not going to comment on that right now. "Who told you all this?"

"I heard some of the women speak about this in my pack."

"Your friends?"

"I don't have friends," I answered, just as we pulled up a driveway. This must be the pack house because the building was similar to the one in the main pack as we got out of the vehicle, I followed Adrian inside.

He opened the door and walked inside while I followed him like a lost puppy. This building was also built in the same pattern as the pack house in the main pack, and while I was marveling at the interior, I saw two warriors walk into the hallway.

The moment they saw us, they immediately bowed, which made a frown form on my face. A warrior wouldn't bow to anyone who isn't holding a higher position than him. So does this mean Adrian holds a higher position? Maybe the head warrior?

"Is Beta Perez in his office?" Adrian asked in a monotone, and I was amazed at how quickly his tone had changed. There was no hint of playfulness at all as he stared at the two warriors.

"Yes, Gamma Acosta. But he is a little mad, and he has asked us all to stay away from his office." the warrior replied while Adrian nodded his head. I stood frozen in my place with my mouth slightly open. Gamma Acosta?

Adrian is the fucking gamma of the blue moon pack, and I had been bad-mouthing about him right in front of him. Adrian began walking towards the stairs while I stood rooted to my spot. My heart was beating so hard against my chest that I was afraid that it might come out, I felt my hands tremble in fear.

Apart from his nonexistent love life, I have also heard that Gamma Acosta is a person not to be messed with. "Aren't you coming?" Adrian asked me as he turned around to face me. "Miss. James?" he called out my name as he walked down the stairs and came to stand in front of me.

"I am so sorry, Gamma Acosta. Please don't kill me." I said as I closed my eyes, not wanting to see the livid look on his face. A few minutes passed by, and I didn't feel a thing, nor did he say anything as I opened my eyes to see a smile on his face.

"I like you."

"Huh?" I never expected those words from him.

"Every woman I have encountered has tried to either flirt with me or upright kiss me, but you are different, Miss. James. I think it would be fun having you around."

"So you are not mad about what I said?" I asked him when he shook his head.

"I have heard far worse rumors about me," he answered as I stared at him shocked. "Let's go," he said, and I nodded my head and walked to the staircase. As we reached the second floor, we took the hallway to the left and began walking.

There was not a soul in here, and all I saw were closed doors to my left and an endless wall to my right. We soon came to a stop in front of a door that had Beta Zander Perez printed on it. "Before we go in," Adrian said as he turned around to face me. "Beta Perez is a little short-tempered, so don't mind what he says, okay?" he asked me, and I nodded my head. Adrian lightly knocked on the door, and we heard a faint come in.

Adrian turned around and opened the door and walked in, and I followed him inside the office. As I stepped inside, my nostrils were filled with the scent of oranges and cinnamon, making me close my eyes for a moment. "What do you want, Adrian?" I heard a deep voice, making my heart flutter.

"The new trainee is here. But there is a little issue in that."

What is this divine scent?

I felt something stir within me as I felt like a thousand butterflies had been let loose inside me. I have only felt this feeling once. My eyes abruptly opened while I heard Lily scream the one word I wasn't prepared to hear so soon.

"Mate! We found our mate!"

This can't be happening again! I am not prepared for a second chance mate!

I felt my heartbeat increase while I stood behind Adrian. And right that moment, Adrian moved aside, so that I came in view of the person that I dreaded to see.
