Chapter 3

-Twilight Valentine-
At first, he was filled with confusion.
It was akin to sleeping and suddenly to awaken to a different place entirely.
That's how it had been.
Thanks to [All of Creation] and [Thought Acceleration] he had all the time to comprehend such a situation he had been put into.
In the end, no matter how much he thought about it. It was like a fog layered his pre-existing memories.
Other than the memories of being stuck in a pitch-black place, before feeling something tugging at his consciousness.
The consciousness, which had followed that tug against itself had appeared here not of its own will.
It had just merely followed whatever was tugging at it.
If that was the case then, it thought that he could settle with that and think about the rest at a later time.
For now. That confusion had been put aside for the meantime.
Looking at the two beings in front of him in marvel of not only them, but of the pristine structure he was at.
"Are you God?"
He asked such a question; after all, his [All of Creation] skill recognised a similar concept and attributed it to the majestic being before him, so he asked without much doubt.
Feldway, as wary as he was, seemed to sympathise with the human right after that question… a little.
But still, that didn't mean he had acknowledged the foreigner. Not especially after what it did.
—Hijacking Veldanava-sama's creation.
It was extremely petty of him even after his Creator had told him to drop it.
As for Veldanava himself?
"God? Hahahahaha!"
Veldanava muttered before bursting into laughter in amusement, holding his stomach as he did.
"Hahaha—No. No, little one. I'm only responsible for bringing life to this world. You can call me Veldanava."
Veldanava said that, only for the silver-haired being to frown in response, opening its mouth to reply.
"That's no doubt a God."
Even his [All of Creation] could not understand Veldanava in front of him.
No, not that. Every result was pointing that Veldanava was more of a Natural Phenomenon than anything else.
Same was with Feldway too, but perhaps, more stronger when looking at Veldanava.
And for Veldanava—
Certainly, from the foreigner's answer. Veldanava couldn't be more sure about his foreign soul.
It was as Veldanava thought. He was probably another soul from a different time and space.
However, it seemed to be in a corrupted state, so to say.
Okay, maybe not that, but something similar to that, however.
It may have been the effect of crossing time and space. And may have affected the soul then when it did.
But the fact that said soul could withstand the crossing of Time-Space and the first of its kind...
It hinted at potential.
And what does Veldanava himself love the most?
Potential and evolution.
Like the creator of a sandbox simulation game. That was who Veldanava was.
Though he felt a little sad for his creation, who had its body hijacked by the foreign soul, at the same time he had already taken measures for that.
He had retrieved it. The soul of the original creation, that is.
Next, he then thought of what to do with it.
Perhaps, maybe he should pass it to the foreign one or rather maybe simply toss into the reincarnation cycle.
The first one seemed more interesting than the second one. Perhaps, that's what he should do.
Addressing him, Veldanava then continued.
"Let's see. You should already have known from the [All of Creation] skill I bestowed upon you."
Veldanava said before he then came to a pause with a shake of his head with that smile still on his face.
"I can't keep calling you 'you or foreign soul.' Hence, from now on, you shall be called Twilight."
"Twilight Valentine will be your name, little one."
"What you were before you came here is of no concern to me. As you are destined to create the greatest of beings and spread your offspring across the worlds, your bloodline name will be Valentine, those who carry perfection in their blood."
As soon as he said it, an intense light descended and covered the being, or rather Twilight, as it had just been named.
Twilight didn't even have time to marvel at his name.
Once again he understood everything; he was going through post-nomenclature evolution, a concept present since the beginning.
Veldanava was the same, all smiles. His project, though an unexpected variable showed up, it was, however, still going on track.
Perhaps, more interesting than he expected because of said unexpected variable.
During the evolutionary process, the voice of the world had arisen to decree the attainment of a unique ability.
Upon the naming, which was another form of a power bestowal, and due to certain burried confusions from the now-named Twilight.
As he did, certain skill was bestowed onto him.
This Twilight didn't consider himself as someone who could bring forth what the creator wanted, but certainly, if the being in front of him was truly God… he would do his best.
Then again, it wouldn't be a problem to consult the Almighty for acquisition of skills that would allow for said Creator's desire to be shaped, then it could work.
Added to his [All Creation], his ability to understand things had increased.
While he was in such thoughts, the evolutionary process took place in full.
His skeletal structure had seemed to have gotten stronger, evident from the trickling feeling he got from his bones and joints.
Next, he was covered in mythic-class black clothes and elegantly posed on the sacred ground of the heavenly star palace.
Maybe because of the naming, his features became more pre-defined than before.
He was still genderless, however, he now leaned towards appearing male-like rather than being entirely androgynous.
—Perhaps, it was just his imagination.
With a huff of air.
"Although I still have a lot of things I'm still confused about. I'll do my best in assisting your ideas."
Twilight had said that going down on one knee with a curt bow at Veldanava.
Surely he was standing in front of God. He thought.
This only further reinforced that earlier statement of his.
And if such a God required something of him, who was he to refuse?
After all, regardless of his confusion, it was thanks to the being in front of him that he had been able to incarnate.
"Hahahaha! It's okay. I have high hopes for you!"
Veldanava said excitedly as he turned towards Feldway who was standing dutifully behind him like a guard without moving away from him once.
As Veldanava did. Twilight had slowly risen up, but then, there was something he was curious about and couldn't help but ask.
"This may be impertinent of me, but couldn't you just will the entire civilization into existence?"
It was a curious question Twilight had asked with a tilt of his head.
Feldway hearing that seemed to glare at it—Twilight—as if saying:
"You dare question Veldanava-sama? You should be happy Veldanava-sama had even let a foreign entity like you live, if it were up to me, you'd have been dead by now."
Somehow, Twilight seemed to understand Feldway's intent but chose to ignore the Primordial Angel for now.
Doing this may or may not have hurt the Primordial's pride.
But regardless of that, Veldanava answered. He was more than happy to answer said question.
"Let's see… I don't know how to explain it. If I were to create humans, they would be closer to being divine than truly human."
This was something Veldanava had attempted before—and something he had ultimately chosen to avoid.
Twilight was of spiritual lifeform yet possessed a material body at the same time.
However, what Veldanava desired were beings of pure material body, ones whose growth could be observed and nurtured over time.
Not Limitless and inherently immortal or unchanging like a Spiritual Lifeform. No.
And then again. If they were divine from the start, there would be no need for them to grow.
This much Twilight understood.
"I understand. It's very much as you've said."
Veldanava looked over Twilight who seemed to be thinking over it.
It was truly as Veldanava said. From what he deduced. The creator wanted entertainment.
And surely, beings that are closer to him from the start will be of no fun to the Creator.
But then, he had no clear idea at the moment.
Perhaps, with magic, he could attempt something—like creating man from clay, or something similar…?
Was that even possible in the first place?
Rather, could he do such a thing in the first place?
The creator glanced at Twilight, as if reading the Divine Ancestor's thoughts… an idea seemed to occur to him.
"Don't worry, if [All of Creation] isn't enough, let me grant you another skill that will assist you."
Saying that, something flowed out of Veldanava into Twilight, making the Divine Ancestor raise his eyebrows in surprise.
"What do you think?"
Veldanava said that making Twilight nod his head in confirmation.
"I should be able to work this with."
A wide smile spread across Veldanava's face as he turned toward Feldway, his mood noticeably lighter.
"See. I told you there's nothing to worry about."
Feldway, however, still seemed to harbor some aversion toward Twilight—particularly over how a mere foreigner had dared to question their creator.
"Yes, my Lord. I will listen to you."
Feldway said stiffly in response.
But hearing this only made Veldanava sigh, clearly exasperated.
"You should learn from Twilight, Feldway."
Hearing Veldanava say that, the Primordial Angel glared at Twilight who simply didn't bother reciprocating the Angel's enthusiasm.
