Chapter 7

-Twilight-
Around several Millenia or have passed since then.
Countless failures had racked up over the years leaving Twilight more drained.
Despite his initial expectations, reality had proven far more challenging than anticipated.
High Humans, as it turned out, had a far lower reproduction rate than he had calculated.
The same was true for the Greater Spirits he had successfully incarnated.
However, it was not to be said that his experiment was entirely useless.
The High-Humans could still reproduce, but instead, it worked differently—
A female High Human required nearly a decade before her body was ready to bear offspring, even under the most ideal circumstances.
Hence, Twilight, Veldanava, and the others could do little more than watch as the High Humans grew and developed at an agonizingly slow pace.
But then along the line, what Twilight had thought and theorized had eventually happened.
Slowly, as the generations passed, the bloodline of the High Humans began to dilute.
In preparation for this eventuality, Twilight, Veldanava, and Ramiris had devised a plan long before that could happen fully.
They chose to scatter the High Humans across all of creation.
Some were sent to distant continents, while others were paired off and transported to entirely different worlds.
This dispersion ensured that all of creation would be populated, albeit at a slower rate than Twilight had originally hoped.
In the midst of these efforts, Twilight continued his experiments.
His work on another project after the Spirit Incarnation Project led to an unexpected side effect: the creation of a new race.
Vampires.
Beings with near-absolute immortality, unparalleled physical strength, and a maturity of mind that exceeded even the High Humans.
Their command over magic was equally, if not more, better.
But as remarkable as they were, Vampires were far from perfect.
They had no tolerance for sunlight and required blood for sustenance—flaws that could not be ignored.
But Twilight had stopped pursuing the word "perfect."
Still. His experiments didn't end there as he had a motive on why he continued.
And finally, he had completed his masterpiece….
No… Masterpieces?
"Yoshaaa!"
The triumphant cry echoed through the lab.
A male looking alternate version of himself said such the very moment he gained sentience.
This was in contrast to the female alternative version who had deeply securitized the original—Twilight.
"....."
It all started when working on a vessel that could handle what would have been the original Twilight's soul.
That was what even led to the creation of the Vampires in the first place.
They were more of an accident in the first place.
But that's a story for another chapter.
Anyways, splitting the original Twilight's soul.
And maybe a little piece of fragments from Veldanava.
In which Twilight might have scammed his creator for—He had ended up with two Alter-egos.
"How fun! How fun, this world that is!"
Having been bestowed [All of Creation], like the [false] Twilight, and unlike him.
This male alter-ego was more excited than anything.
In response—"Shut up. You're annoying."
The female counterpart said that in annoyance, as she shot him an icy glare.
Twilight stood before the two of them, his expression unreadable.
"Well," he muttered to himself, "now what am I supposed to do with these two?"
One could say Twilight wasn't particularly skilled in this sort of thing.
—It only took him two thousand years to realize it.
Even after successfully creating the Primordial High-Humans, he had simply sent them off to the [Garden] without much thought or instructions.
His only words at that time for them was: Reproduce.
This order might have caused some problem down the line even the Divine Ancestor himself might have not expected.
In other words, Twilight could best be described as a bad parent.
"Hm, how about this? You will be named Luminous, and you will be named Dawn."
Twilight gestured toward the female and male alter-egos respectively.
The names had simply come to mind, following the theme of his own name, Twilight.
"Luminous… I don't hate it."
"Ooh, Dawn. It has a nice ring to it."
In a way or the other, but we're just as weird as him. Or so Twilight thinks.
…Heavenly star palace…
Having gotten past his bored phase. Veldanava has been having much fun with the growth of this new species.
On the Cardinal World, a group of High-Humans had already begun establishing a settlement.
To call it a settlement is an understatement.
With what the creator was seeing, that was no doubt an Empire in itself.
"If I'm not mistaken, that's Jahil, isn't it? Cain's descendant."
Veldanava mused.
Watching the Cardinal World all the way from the Heavenly Star Palace was but an easy feat for him.
"Yes. That explains his arrogance. He's just like his forefather. And as expected from the grandspawn of that person."
Naturally the "that person" in question was Twilight.
To the Primordial Angel, it was sickening how vile races had suddenly started procreating like animals on the sacred land his God made.
While it was indeed a good thing, the sheer arrogance of the current High-Humans was something to note about.
They had built a settlement from scratch using magic, and that little settlement of yesterday had grown into a full-blown empire.
It was just like yesterday when Twilight himself spoke to the current Father of High-Humans—Jahil, teaching him about the fundamentals of civilization.
And that is what led to the creation of the Super Magic Empire, with Jahil crowned as its Emperor.
But…
"If they continue going down this route, it will result in nothing but destruction. A race like this. If left alone, it will be the destruction of themselves."
Veldanava could note that it was only expected of the blood of their ancestor that flowed through them.
"Veldanava-sama doesn't need to trouble himself; just say the word, and we'll take care of everything."
Feldway, who was unrelenting, said so again, as this time, Veldanava couldn't help but look at the angel exasperated.
"Feldway. Do you hold some kind of grudge against Twilight or something?"
Originally, Veldanava had thought that with time would soften Feldway rigid demeanor; however, why does it seem like it's having the opposite effect?
"No. I don't."
"....."
Though Feldway said that without an unchanging expression, Veldanava didn't push.
Or Perhaps Feldway's attitude stemmed from something else—jealousy, perhaps?
The angel's disdain could very well be linked to Veldanava's interest with Twilight's works.
If one thinks about it this way, it does seem like a valid reasoning.
Just as that was happening.
"Veldanava-sama. Twilight-sama is here again."
"Ooh. Let him in; I'm curious to see what he has in store for me this time."
With that said, the messenger Angel went to call Twilight in.
Entering into the Main Palace, approaching Veldanava, who sat casually on his seat, were Twilight and two other people who resembled him trailing behind.
"It's been long, Veldanava."
"Twilight!"
Veldanava greeted warmly before taking a pause, looking at the two behind Twilight.
"Ooh. Those two are… I see, so that's what you decided to do. Hmm. I was correct in giving "that" to you."
At a glance, Veldanava was able to more or less recognise the two just by looking at their souls.
The Original Twilight.
The one that was supposed to be the original Twilight before the one in front of him took his shape.
That Twilight of that time had now been split into two, and… now that he thinks about it.
'Wait, is that my….'
The creator thought with widened eyes as his gaze lingered on the two.
'Could it have been when I was preserving his soul….'
Having thought about that, Twilight's voice then brought Veldanava back to.
"Veldanava-sama, these two are Luminous and Dawn, respectively. I've fulfilled my debt to them."
Hearing that, the Dragon King sighed, patting Twilight's back softly.
"I already told you, it's not like that—"
While Veldanava and Twilight were talking, Dawn was looking at Feldway a little too seriously.
"Hmm?"
Feldway too, noticing this, looked back at the Vampire, squinting his eyes at the male.
Then all of a sudden—
BAM!
Dawn had dashed towards the Primordial Angel, lunging at him with a fist.
"Good grief."
"Ooh."
"That fool!"
The three—Twilight, Veldanava, and Luminous—spoke as they saw this happen, but none stepped forward to stop them.
The angel blocked the strike, casually glaring back at the vampire, who was nothing but smiles.
"You... I don't like you. Let's fight!"
