Nevaeh: Well, Azrael, I think it's time to move on, right?
As they moved forward, the sixth knight of the Crescent Suns appeared in front of them, blocking their way.
Crescent Sun 6: Well, well, what do we have here? Nevaeh, the beloved of the Aethoria kingdom, accompanied by a dark being!
Azrael: Let her go... or you know how this will end.
Nevaeh: Calm down, sixth knight... You don't even have names. A kingdom hierarchy that's quite ridiculous, if you ask me. How are you supposed to be taken seriously as humans if you can't even be called by a name?
Crescent Sun 6: Well, well... (drops the cigarette). I knew something bad would happen, that's why I brought...
Suddenly, a loud noise echoed in the air. The fourth knight of the Crescent Suns appeared, interrupting the conversation.
Crescent Sun 4: And what happened to the fifth knight? Did you leave her to her fate on the battlefield, sixth knight? Your behavior disgusts me. She was my friend!
Crescent Sun 6: Now is not the time for reproaches. She can handle those filthy beings on her own. We need to hold Azrael until reinforcements arrive.
Azrael: Do you think someone as useless as you can defeat me?
Nevaeh: No! Azrael, please, don't fight...
Before Azrael could respond, the sixth knight struck Nevaeh. She fell to the ground, blood streaming from her nose.
Nevaeh: W-Why did you hit me? Did I do something to you?
Azrael: Insolent. You'll regret this.
Azrael's fury was unleashed. His eyes glowed with an almost uncontrollable intensity, but he remembered Nevaeh's words: "Don't fight, please." He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and managed to calm down. Gently, he lifted Nevaeh and healed her with healing magic.
Crescent Sun 6: So you can heal too? Tell me, what else are you capable of?
Azrael didn't respond. Without saying a word, he took Nevaeh in his arms, extended his wings, and flew to a hidden dimension that took them to the elf kingdom.
Upon landing, Azrael gently placed Nevaeh on the ground.
Azrael: Well, miss. End of the journey.
Nevaeh: Good idea. If we're in another kingdom, no one will come here. They won't want to face another kingdom for us. Coming to Sylvaris was a smart move.
Nevaeh didn't want to separate from him. She wanted to experience more adventures together and, someday, convince him to return to Aethoria to live with her.
Azrael: I know an elf here, although it was 500 years ago. I don't know if he'll remember me...
Azrael stopped in front of the massive gates of Sylvaris and shouted firmly:
Azrael: During the night, the fire consumes the darkness! During the day, the flame annihilates evil!
An elven guard peeked his head from a nearby tower, smiling.
Guard: Azrael, that password was used when I was born. Come on, we all know you...
Nevaeh: Is a password needed?
Azrael: (laughs) But you've grown so much! You're Eryndor!
Guard Eryndor: Of course, it's me. Do you have omniscience, or can you just not forget our traditions?
Azrael: And did you forget that in this kingdom, I don't have omniscience because of your strong anti-intruder magic?
Guard Eryndor: Ah... right. I forgot.
Nevaeh: Well, can we come in now? I'm hungry. I made cakes but didn't eat any.
Azrael: —Ah... what a glutton... (he commented with a mischievous smile while looking at Nevaeh).
Nevaeh looked up and stared at him, curious.
Azrael: By the way?
Azrael suddenly became serious.
Wait for me here. I need to go back and help the knights from my kingdom. I won't be long.
Without waiting for a response, Azrael stood up and, before Nevaeh could say anything, disappeared in a flash, passing through a dimensional portal that connected the Sylvaris kingdom with his own.
Meanwhile, in another corner of the conflict, the Fifth Knight was in grave danger. Her breath was heavy, and her body showed clear signs of exhaustion. She had managed to defeat one of the six dark knights, but there were still five in front of her. Her strength was running out, and a sense of hopelessness overwhelmed her. She thought it would be her end.
It was then that, from a distance, a figure appeared, cloaked in a white hooded robe. His walk was firm and serene, as if the threat looming over him meant nothing.
The Fifth Knight could hardly believe it. The mysterious knight stopped in front of the enemies and, with a slow and calculated movement, removed his cloak, revealing his face.
Crescent Sun 5: Is it a... Crescent Sun? (she murmured in disbelief, recognizing the second one to bear that legendary title).
Crescent Sun 2: —Those dark beings that reside in the perfect existence created by the legend of the Supreme Creator must be annihilated for the good of light and the world. The monsters of the shadows have no place here. They will be destroyed by my sword. I swear it by my title of Crescent Knight.
Crescent Sun 5: —So it's you? They almost killed me! Where are the reinforcements you promised?
Crescent Sun 2: —Did you really have trouble with these pests? You don't deserve the title you bear. Before you came here, I told you I would help with reinforcements, but I got lazy.
Knight Adara: —Yes, yes! Stop talking nonsense. You're going to die here, both of you!
The Crescent Sun 2 drew his golden sword, surrounded by pure and divine power. In the blink of an eye, Adara's right arm fell to the ground, cleanly severed.
Knight Adara: —Damn! W-?
Before she could finish her sentence, a beam of light emitted from Crescent Sun 2 pierced her body, inflicting a fatal wound.
Crescent Sun 2: —Does such a being deserve to live?
Suddenly, Crescent Sun 2 felt an unexpected impact. Azrael's arm had pierced him from behind.
Azrael: —And does a guy who thinks he's fantastic and all-powerful deserve to live, thinking he's superior to everyone else? Scum.
Crescent Sun 2: —Well, well. So you're the wizard who calls himself the First Shadow Knight. Incredible blow... I admit it, I felt it because I was off guard.
Azrael: —Oh, are you going to cry? Really?
Crescent Sun 2 unleashed a torrent of divine light, making Azrael stagger slightly, although he clearly remained superior.
Azrael: —Fine... Shadow Spell: Cursed Darkness.
The entire battlefield, including much of the kingdom and several nearby cities, became trapped in a dark fog, barely visible but deadly. Only those with pure blood from Sombrafel could resist its lethal effect.
The Fifth Knight didn't stay behind.
Crescent Sun 5: —Light Spell: Divine Sword!
The Divine Sword, a weapon capable of purifying and annihilating all cursed magic, dispelled the fog in an instant. But it was already too late.
Azrael: —Hahaha, weren't you the Crescent Sun 2?
In a brutal move, Azrael pierced Crescent Sun 2 with his shadow sword, ending his life.
Azrael: —Well, now who's next?
The Fifth Knight, terrified, flew up into the sky, creating a portal to flee to the Kingdom of Light.
Azrael: —I won't let you... —he said with a wicked smile.
However, the portal closed.
Azrael: —Oh... well... Hahaha. Got away. (He licked his lips with a comic gesture).
Knight Adara: —I... useless. You let that knight escape.
Azrael: —Shut up. You're in no condition to talk. Besides, I took down the Second Knight. What does it matter? He was powerful, but I'm much, much stronger. I don't understand how the First Crescent Sun can be so superior to the rest of his rank...
Knight Adara: —Yeah... shut up for a while.
Knight Erika: —Hey, Adara! Are you okay?
Knight Adara: —Yeah... I just need some time to recover. Azrael, heal me with your spell.
Azrael: —Hmm... Let me think... I know. No! Hahahahaha.
